  • I continue my walk to the next bothy heading West to Glen Esk and navigating my way over Clachnaben and Mount Battock. The plan on day 2 was to camp at Tarfside sports ground but I never made it that far and ended up wild camping by a river about 1.5 miles from Tarfside.

They fire the moor to encourage new growth for the grouse. Notice they dont fire they entire moor. Also when you are walking on the road you MUST walk on the right side of the road to ensure you can see any traffic approuching you. If you walk on the left, you may not hear the veh kills you. Enjoy the vids. Thanks. Calum

Thanks for the advice Calum, my friend Mr Gobetrotter tells me I should be walking on the right side of the road also. I usually tend to walk on the side that has the widest area that resembles a footpath but now I see your point I'll try and always stick to the right side. Sometimes when i come up to a corner I cross to the other side so the cars can see me coming (listening for traffic first of course).

An awesome expedition again Andrew. My my, it looks quite tiresome! Still wondering about those huts & the burned heather? I think it's all related to the grouse hunting over there, and according to the map you passed a few shootingranges there.

Hi mate how was the food i have never had one of them i am too tight to buy them lol atb stuart

+SCOTTISH WANDERER It tasted alright apart from the peas in it but at a fiver per meal that was my first and last, not worth it for the small amount of food you get inside. I could go to Sainsubury's and get a pack of rice, a jar of Curry and 2 chicken fillets for the same price. Might try the Chocolate Pudding next time but that'll be it. How are you getting on with your dehydrater? Is it still worth having?
