    I drove the 2017 JEEP Cherokee Limited two days and LOVE it. It handles well, has a great storage, and I love the updates JEEP has made to the interior. If you're in the market for a SUV I highly recommend taking the Cherokee Limited out for a test drive. You will not be disappointed.

    The major review sites were not kind. Edmonds rated the Limited at 3.9/5, US News 7.6/10, and Car and Driver gave it a 3.5/5. I love this car. I have no idea what those guys were thinking...

      I will try the Sportage or the Cherokee, but since I'm going with Alamo I can end up with any of their Intermediate SUV option(Jeep Patriot, Jeep Cherokee, Ford Escape, Chevy Captiva, Hyundai Tucson, Kia Sportage, Mazda CX-5, Nissan Rogue or Toyota RAV4).

    • @100RentalCars
      @100RentalCars  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +PhB Hmmm, not a bad list. My favorite out of those is the Kia Sportage. I'm not a fan of the Rogue or Tucson, I'd stay away from those if you have a choice. Actually, if you can, get the Captiva. I've never driven one and I'd love to hear your thoughts.

    What different features does it have compared to the regular 2017 Jeep latitude? I currently have a latitude and it seems the exact same as the Limited.

    We purchased a used 2017 Cherokee Limited but in red back in May of last year. I was shocked that it was only $19k with 42k miles on it. It has been very dependable so far. The only thing I had to do was put new tires on it because the tires on it looked pretty worn and would have only gotten a few more hundred miles out of them. The ride is really smooth, I've never had the 2.4 tigershark engine before so this is a first. The engine seems to be a lot more smooth than my old 2.2 Ecotec in my 2007 Cobalt.

      I just bought my 2016 Cherokee from carmax for 16,998 with only 14,700 miles on it I wanted to get the 6 cylinder model but they wanted 18k for it with 55k miles on it didn't make sense so I settled with the 4 cylinder with lower miles instead I do agree the acceleration sometimes is a little sluggish but it does get up though especially on that freeway

    One of the flaws I notice with my 2.4l Cherokee is the oil consumption I got my oil change 7-26-19 and check my oil 8-31-19 only put 1880 miles during that time my dipstick oil level was on the middle of instead the full level I had to buy quart of oil to top it off too full took it in to jeep dealership they told me my next service they gonna do oil consumption test and go from there

    I have a 2017 6 cylinder Jeep Cherokee. It had 10 miles when I bought it. I keep it clean all the time I love my Jeep. I been driving Jeep since I was 17 yrs old. My Jeep now it’s good I keep up the maintenance every 3000 or 5000 miles but they put synthetic oil. My Jeep I try not to drive it to much because I don’t want to put to much mileage on it instead I ride with Lyft. Love Jeep hope it will last at least for 12 hrs without giving me a problem.

    How’s the overall dependability, and reliability of the vehicle? I’ve heard they’ve had a bad reputation. do you think the new ones 2018, and 2019have gotten better? love the reviews great job!!

    • @100RentalCars
      @100RentalCars  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Niko! (you left a similar comment on my Latitude review, so I'm going to cut and paste my response here). In my experience, Jeeps are decently reliable. My family had an early 2000s model and it lasted over 10 years without any major problems. If you like the look and the feel of the Cherokee, then I think you should go for it. But if you're on the fence, or if reliability is your highest priority, then I'd consider a Honda or Toyota instead. Generally those score better when it comes to reliability. Hope this helps. And thanks for the kind words about my video!

    The only thing I don't care for is the cheap black plastic trim around the bottom. I would expect a limited to be better trimmed. I think that would help entice people to upgrade if it was body colored instead. Other than that seems like a great suv

    • @ravenjames3873
      @ravenjames3873 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Kevin Eaton: who cares, it's a lower trim level anyway and you have less things that can break on you. but it all depends on what kinda plastic they used. there's the really cheap hard plastic, but then you have a higher quality plastic which has a soft touch feel to it. they both have there strengths and weaknesses, as long as they don't have plastic on the arm rest and it's only the dash i could live with that. the only thing i don't like is that it comes standard with a 4 cylinder. i would probably skip the base version and go one trim level about the base and get the v6 with AWD. because this Jeep weighs about 3600 pounds and that's just with the base 4 cylinder and 2WD, adding the v6 and AWD puts your curb weight at 3850 pounds, but it's worth it and it's not much different than the 4 cylinder when it comes to MPG. plus you also get slightly nicer interior.

    • @QueenCityHistory
      @QueenCityHistory 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Dark Raven Jr see i donr care about engine size. Black plastic trim makes a car look cheap. Shows people have different priorities

    Is it full time 4x4, or can you switch to 2x? I didn't see that on the selector knob.

    • @100RentalCars
      @100RentalCars  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Vince Ruland I'm not sure. I only remember a switch to change the terrain (snow, ice, mud, etc.). If I drive another Limited I'll take a look and let you know. I did just post a second review of the Limited, so maybe check it out? I didn't specifically address your question, but you might get a good view of all the controls.

    • @ravenjames3873
      @ravenjames3873 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      this is a unibody, so it's AWD instead of 4WD. it's not a body on frame, but this version might only be 2WD.

  • @kevinsmith2747
    @kevinsmith2747 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    • @100RentalCars
      @100RentalCars  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Kevin Smith Really? I confess, I wasn't aware there was a difference. Thanks for pointing that out. I'll try and look it up now. You think you could quickly explain it here too?

    • @kevinsmith2747
      @kevinsmith2747 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      AWD vehicles are FWD vehicles most of the time. They only send power to the rear wheels when there is slippage. The reason they're not continuous AWD is for fuel consumption reasons. On the other hand, 4x4 vehicles are continuous "four wheel drive" 100% of the time while engaged. So, a 4x4 is a much more "off-road" worthy vehicle while AWD vehicles are mostly for hazardous conditions. If that makes sense.

    • @100RentalCars
      @100RentalCars  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      That makes a lot of sense. That's for the explanation! And I'll be careful to get this right in the future.

    • @100RentalCars
      @100RentalCars  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I hadn't thought about the ground clearance issue. You're right, it probably would be an issue if you took this "real" off-roading. I've never actual been off roading, you do it much?

    • @100RentalCars
      @100RentalCars  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe that in order to get a dual exhaust you have to purchase the vehicle with a v6 engine. The v4 engine only gets one exhaust.
