This is Chelmsford Citadels Salvation Army Songsters performing "Lord of the Dance". This recording is taken from their album "Amazing Grace and Other Favourite Hymns" which features Chelmsford Songsters. It is hoped that this recording will prove attractive, not only to Salvationists, but also to the broader audience of hymn lovers around the world. The fact that all the arrangements include the original well-known tunes should ensure that nobody is disappointed! The image is the most current image of the Songster Brigade taken in 2010.
I'm amazed by the number of views this video has had - 50,000+ WOW! God is good! May His name be praised forever.
Lyrics:
I danced in the morning when the world was begun
and I danced in the moon and the stars and the sun
I came down from heaven and I danced on the earth
At Bethlehem I had my birth
Dance, then, wherever you may be
I am the lord of the dance, said he
And I lead you all, wherever you may be
And I lead you all in the dance, said he
I danced for the scribe and the Pharisee
But they would not dance and they wouldn't follow me
I danced for the fishermen James and John
They came with me and the dance went on
Dance, then, wherever you may be
I am the lord of the dance, said he
And I lead you all, wherever you may be
And I lead you all in the dance, said he
I danced on the Sabbath and I cured the lame
The holy people said it was a shame
They whipped, they stripped, and they hung me high
And they left me there on the cross to die
Dance, then, wherever you may be
I am the lord of the dance, said he
And I lead you all, wherever you may be
And I lead you all in the dance, said he
I danced on a Friday when the sky turned black
It's hard to dance with the devil on your back
They buried my body, and they thought I'd gone
But I am the dance, and I still go on
Dance, then, wherever you may be
I am the lord of the dance, said he
And I lead you all, wherever you may be
And I lead you all in the dance, said he
They cut me down and I leapt up high
I am the life that will never, never die
I'll live in you if you'll live in me
I am the Lord of the dance, said he
Dance, then, wherever you may be
I am the lord of the dance, said he
And I lead you all, wherever you may be
And I lead you all in the dance, said he

Loved it!
Chapel at Boarding School wasn't my favorite thing but singing Lord of the dance with gusto (like a football anthem) was great.
+katako1 ... Er, explain that please.
'Hung me high', how can this refer to Lucifer? He never gave his life for us.
I agree absolutely, this is definitely one to sing out loud, it would be great fun to see the reaction if it was played in the stadium before a match ;)
big school assembly memories here too
same
I think this is how it should always be sung - slow the tempo for "I danced on a Friday, when the sky turned black......."
Its realy good
Park~ Park~
1:40 It's hard to dance with a devil up your crack XD We used to sing that instead of the actual lyrics lol
needs some dubstep though :)
