Hello, I need help, I ordered the Samsung 980 Pro PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 SSD and it doesn't slide in. Why?! I looked up every slot type and it lines up, but why doesn't it slide in?
4 of the screws don’t really come out, just screw them out until you hear a click, the only ones that fully come out are the 2 top ones and the 2 ones at the bottom
Dell g15 5510 (Intel 10th gen),5511 (Intel 11th gen) and 5515 (Ryzen 5000 series) only have second ssd slot, later models don't have, so remove your old ssd to put another if want to upgrade

3 Dell reps just told me that I can not put a larger SSD in the 2nd slot if the laptop came with a 512gb in the 1st slot (smaller one). They all said I would have to upgrade the 512gb small, square shaped one to a 1TB and then the 2nd slot that holds a long shaped SSD can be upgraded to a 2TB.
I will recommend you to buySSD from Dell itself. It might sound strange but I got hell of a deal there. In Rs. 10500 I got 2 TB Samsung drive (PM9A1) which is a PCIe Gen 4 drive and almost matches Samsung 980 pro in performance.

Hmm..I think some carefully drop hot glue on screw place will be okay for this kind of ssd..enough to hold position and relatively easy to remove. I did this to my old inspiron when replace hdd to ssd sata

I wanted to do the same installment but my copper plate didnt fit well into ssd2 slot. then i had swap the slots.

I didn't face such problem. In my case, the copper plates that I bought fitted perfectly
