What specs. Also i heared people saying the amd ryzen version has a second ssd slot but its only missing a bracket. Do you have any idea if this is true?
Hi, the specs for this one are: Specs Core i7-13650HX RTX 4060, 8GB GDDR6 16GB, 2x8GB, DDR5, 4800MHz 1TB, M.2, PCIe NVMe, SSD 15.6" FHD (1920x1080) 165Hz, 3ms, sRGB-100% I don't have Ryzen version this year yet.
Hey Super Late to the vid. But that ram you upgarded to what i just got this exact one with the same specs u put in comments. I want to put 32gb ram into it but not sure if it can handle please let me know. Thank You, LIKED.
Hey there! I'm curious about the potential impact of installing 64 GB of RAM in my Dell G15 5520 laptop. Has anyone tried it, and what were the results? Did it work smoothly, or did it lead to any issues? I'm thinking of upgrading my laptop's RAM, and I'd love to hear about your experiences and recommendations. Thanks in advance for sharing your insights!
It is a very easy upgrade to load up and upgrade one's RAM into the two memory slots after one has disconnected the 5525 battery. One can get the 64GB of RAM memory upgrade from Crucial for about $165 which is about $2.58 per Gb of memory which for the price will just about ensure that any potential RAM memory storage capacity issues will be a forgotten memory; not bad for a very easy one time memory upgrade cost; it will extend one's Dell's 5525 useful life for at least another two years or so; so the rather modest money for this memory upgrade will yield very good return on one's investment dollar. Now upgrading one's m.2 2280 to the 4Gb PCI NVMe is also another excellent idea also as well since it can in fact accommodate not one but two m.2 2280 4Gb PCI NVMe SSD drives for $205 per 4Gb PCI NVMe SSD drive; so one for $370 one could have 64Gb RAM with 4Tb SSD Drive or for $575 one could have 64Gb RAM with 8Tb SSD Drive; now that would be a mind blowing upgrade indeed that would definitely definitively upgrade one's Dell 5525 notebook for at least another five years or so; so one will definitely getting an excellent return on one's investment; until the next generation GPU video cards have come out and seriously dropped down in price.
Personally I've never had an an issue without disconnecting the battery before, just make sure it's fully powered off. But many have recommended that step to avoid an accidental short.
Changed the thermal paste on mine, turns out dell using a special compound called element 31 which has Liquid Metal in it. So with normal thermal paste it’s worse and you are nowhere near the temperatures as with the original one.
Amazing video, but i have a question: i saw on the users manual you can only use either the ssd 2230 or the 2280 both not both at the same time, in this cideo i see you are using both, does system recognize the second ssd ?
I used to be able to contact Dell customer service and they would mail me a SSD bracket for free in 2021/2022, but they don't do that anymore in my experience.
@@ComputerizedCanada You should try using phase-change material Honeywell PTM7950. It comes in as a sheet, lasts longer and performs in my experience works better than traditional pastes.
Hi, Sorry in kinda late, I bought a Dell g15 5535 that came in a bundle, what ddr ram does it use and what where can I buy the sticks? Also super helpsul video, i will be using soon to upgrade my laptop
Very useful video since I didn't know it's actually possible to change lenght config for both SSD slots ! Many thanks 😃
No problem 👍
great video mate
Thanks 👍
thanks dude hi from india
thank you for the video, hello from Ukraine
Which model is this? The 5535?
How much is the maximum SSD? I want to add a 2Tb on the 2230 and a 4Tb on the 2280
What is the ram company i have g15 5530 8gb ram wanted to upgrae it kindly give the model no.
What is the peak wattage under load like while using Prime 95. My stays at 125W and for some it's 162W. My CB is 18K
Any one know if this thing has a slot for a normal sata hard drive
So, we don't use heat sink from box. We use heat sink from laptop?

Can I change ram 64gb and graphic card 12GB is possible?
Quick please, when adding the new ssd, do we have to remove the battery connection first? Or can i add the ssd directly without disconnecting battery?

@@ComputerizedCanadaok, thanks man❤
What is the SSD you bought?
Why some screws won't come out ? I tried to install ram but 4 screws won't come out so i left it as it is because i don't want to break anything
I think there is 4 screws that stay on the panel
It will still pop off
Is there an upgradeable battery
Hello thanks for the video.
Do you think a nvme drive with a heatsink will fit?
I think a thin one would.
Ok thx
can i upgrade my battery from 54wh version to the 86wh ?
Very useful video, mine is same i tried adding 2nd ssd as 2280 but its not showing in bios or in disk management.
what;s worst apart from every other good specs - can't change thermal paste, like on other laptops
Yeah the flip design of the motherboard from Dell/Alienware makes it very hard to do maintenance.
I did on mine, wasn't that difficult

There are 2 ssd. Is the ssd that came with the computer the small ssd shown at the beginning of the clip?
You have the small one, the other slot is free for upgrade
Do they make you use Dell Ram or can I swap brands to say, corsair as long as i keep the same ram speed?
You can swap brands, and in many cases even speed.

Yes. You can use both at the same time. The system will recognize both.
Is there already a second bracket in there? If not, what do i need to buy if I wanna put another SSD in there?
I used to be able to contact Dell customer service and they would mail me a SSD bracket for free in 2021/2022, but they don't do that anymore in my experience.
Can i paste New GPU for dell g 15?
Thank you !??
Reapplying thermal paste on this laptop will be long job😅
No doubt!

Do we get 1 or 2 ssd slots?
Only 1 this year :(
@@ComputerizedCanada In the video you can see that there is another slot for an m2 or am I seeing wrong?

Hey, you gotta buy a SODIMM Ram, the same that you already have plugged in
Can we use 2 2280 SSD or only one?
It has only one slot.
If I remove the factory SSD and use
Both slots to use 2 2280 SSDs then?
Is that the 5535 version?
How much could be upgraded per slot
May i install 32gb, 16gb x2 ?
Yes
Is it dell g15 5520
5530
This is a great help for me when I buy a 5530. I do plan to upgrade the ram. Thank you!
