OMG! This was such a crazy spreadsheet to design and test. There is so much data here for everyone to play around with! I've also kind of changed my opinion in that bok choy seeds are great if you are going for value but the bok choy preserves might actually let you stay offline longer while keeping the high gold per hour rate of preserves. Haven't even gotten far into the video, but already appreciating how much effort you put into this. Also VERY surprised you got pushback on the bok choy declaration last time - I switched my garden layout to do more bok choy and started raking in the gold immediately. Edit: I should probably mention that bok choy seeds work very well for me since I have a busy life + full time job, so my Palia playtime per day is quite low. Bok choy in the seeders overnight gives me so much income with minimal effort.
Thank you so much! I’m glad you appreciate it! The reason for the pushback is the fact that the seeds took so long and people mark it down for that. But I’m like you, only have a few hours to play a day so I don’t have any issues letting the bok choy just sit there and run while I’m offline.
@@Aqajj maybe im dumb but wouldnt potatoes still work better? potatoes take 84 minutes per cycle so per 24h potato can make 17 cycles making 68 seeds which sell for 20G which would made 1360G or star quality 30G per seed so 2040G. // Bok choy takes 72m per cycle so can make 20 cycles making 80 seeds which sell for 15G which would make 1200G or star quality 22G per seed so 1760G. Either that or i made a dumb mistake somewhere?
Yes, if you are just selling the seeds potatoes do come out better. But if you’re looking to make the most money, potatoes take 5 days to grow whereas Bok Choy takes 3. So Bok Choy ends up getting more crops and you can sell the excess to make a little extra money than potatoes. Otherwise, If you only wish to sell the processed seeds, then yes potatoes are better than bok choy.

I am just starting out the game with only 2 soil spaces, what crops should I use at the start then? since i dont have seeders and such. Do i go by the crops and regula columns? so i should go bokchoy and potatos?
My layout is a hybrid between the crops you recommend, another TH-camrs layout and my own tweaks based on crop need… all I have to say is thanks!, I can easily make 10-14k with my crops.

I tend to jump on for about 30 min to an hour twice or three times in a day, so I tend to stick to preserves as they let me log off and then just refill them when I log back on. I'm currently doing a rotation of potato preserves/nappa kimchi with permanent makers for tomatoes, blueberries & apples. I know bok preserves are supposedly better, but since I'm high level in gardening I prefer tomatoes. They yield multiples every harvest, so I don't ever run low on them.
I love seeing the math worked out like this. I am surprised though that you didn't calculate in worm farms as well (even though I know they aren't as worth it with 1.8)
thats so awesome only paret i still didnt understood. are you ahrvesting rice and wheat or are they staying there forever and u only replace the bok choy?
Up to you, if you play a ton, you can probably just harvest the bok choy. If you don’t play that much and want every crop to make money you can harvest the rice/wheat. Up to you on how full your crafters are getting between harvests.
Am I missing something? What kind of fertilizer should I use on this farm? Is it Quality Fertilizer (because rice and wheat already provide harvest boost?)?
It is up to you. If you are new to the game you can use quality up fertilizer to help produce star quality crops. The layout was built on not using fertilizer since it adds more work and cuts into profits depending on what’s used. So in short, you don’t need any unless there is a specific boost you wish to add.
@@Aqajj thank you man. your layout help me a lot. it's way convenient and so profitable compared to my old layout which is all tomato 😅. keep up the awesome work dude
I’ve just gotta say, this is phenomenal work! My brain can’t quite comprehend the complexity of it (but I revisit it often and am starting to to slowly understand a bit better) Thank you so much for your time and mental efforts towards this, it does NOT go unnoticed! Last video I started growing a lot more bok choy and it helped me immensely with gold making, so I was following closely for this update post patch. It would be cool to see a video with some different layout options - beginner and advanced - and compare with seeds vs preserves vs selling raw (not saying it would need to be you making the video bc I know that’s a big time investment, this is just a general statement) for us visual people who struggle with charts. I’ll definitely be using your charts and creating some different layout options with the gardening layout tool, perhaps I can screenshot them and share to the discord or Reddit threads to help others too. Thank you so much 💖💖💖
im coming back to play Palia me wondering about farming since was the main focus and seeing this felt like i was taking a degree with so many graphcs etc.
My brain was struggling to fully comprehend everything but I've found my Groove with my own palia garden. I grow 4 rows of potatoes with 1 row of nappa cabbage between each pair of rows of potatoes and then the other 3 soil patches I use to grow apples and anything else I need. And I pickle the potatoes, feed the nappa cabbage to my worm and glow worm farms. And sell pretty much everything
The data still stays the same since the first video for the book Choy layout. Up to you for if you want to do harvest boost from crops or harvest boost from fertilizer. I haven’t added fertilizer to the sheet yet but it’s up to you for how much extra work you want to put in.
In terms of the best gold per hour yes, bok choy preserves are the fastest. I said seeds would be the best because they are #1 and #2 for value then speed. But since then I realized that the preserves probably can run for longer which helps with afking. If you’re going for speed, yes, bok choy preserves would be better than seeds. Thanks for the question.
Wow, man. Props to you for all this effort. One question, what do weeds do? Does it affect anything if you pull right away vs leave it for some waterings?
Great video, thank you ! Do you still get only star quality crops from any seed at level 25 in gardening ? I seem to have quite a bit a non quality drop at level 23
@@Aqajj Oh ok thanks :) If anyone is interested, I got 121 quality bok choy and 42 regular ones from regular seeds at level 23 and it's about the same ratio for my few wheat and rice plants
Well, even at 1,000 it is still per day, it’s just the average of every day up to that point. Sure, as you see in the graph it takes a little bit for the average to level out but I keep it at 1,000 so everything has enough time to reach the leveling out point and is better for comparison similar to other charts with a static number and no variability.
Bok choy is better the less you play since the processing times are long especially for the seeds. You can still make a lot of money by selling the raw seeds as seen in this spreadsheet but if you only want to sell processed crops, you will still make good money with preserves but seeds will be slow.
Play hours is true hours. However it isn’t hours per day, so it really has no difference unless you only have for example 72 hours left in an event. Otherwise it just scales everything somewhat evenly and I usually leave it at 1,000 that way it hits the plateau but isn’t too much work for the computer. I haven’t made one for specific play time per day yet.
i just wanted too know what plants i should grow and in what format, now im confused and have a headache. i didnt know you needed a degree in agriculture to play Palia.
This is certainly a guide for more advanced players looking to min max. If you’re looking for a gold-priority layout you can check out the last tab of the spreadsheet to find the bok choy layout at the bottom. If you wish to see a breakdown of the layout, the video on the channel “Best Crop Layout” from February will have that. Thanks for watching the video and I hope this was able to help you out!
It looks like your 55 slot bok choy layout doesn't make as much money as a 59 slot bok choy layout (not harvest boosting the rice at all). Remember you can't possibly process all of your bok choy, so why bother processing the rice and wheat at all? If you keep the processors completely full of bok choy, sell all the extra raw rice and extra raw bok choy, only make rice seeds as needed for replanting them, you end up with more profit per day. I wonder if buying the rice seeds from Zeki would be better in that situation (so you can keep the bok choy processors in full swing and not have to worry about managing rice seeds in your processors - that is, getting the rice in and out of the processors fast to get the bok choy cranking again as quickly as possible). Thoughts?
I just ran some numbers, I didn't min max or anything, for the 59 slot bok choy with 28 crafters to that and 2 crafters to the rice not harvest boosted it comes out to 3751 compared to the 55 slot bok choy with everything harvest boosted with 26 crafters to bok choy and 2 per rice/wheat comes out to 3995. Now this is all theoretical assuming someone is playing 24/7, I haven't made one to account for specific play time yet but that sure would be fun. It shows that the 55 slot makes more because you lose less money by planting a different crop than you do by not harvest boosting everything. If you have the number to prove your method right, I'd love to see a short video and tag me in it or share it to the palia discord and tag me. But just know that this is all theoretical and that these numbers change a lot when you don't play 24/7. Also, check out this design I made for a single boosted crop: palia-garden-planner.vercel.app/?layout=v0.2_DIM-111-111-111_CROPS-RBkRBkBkBkBkRBk-BkBkBkBkRBkBkBkBk-RBkRBkBkBkBkRBk-BkBkBkRBkBkBkBkR-RBkRBkBkBkBkRBk-BkBkBkBkBkRRBkBk-RBkBkBkBkBkBkRBk-BkBkBkRBkRBkBkBk-BkBkRBkBkBkBkRBk It provides the same boost as a 21 rice field but gives you an extra free bok choy that sadly isn't harvest boosted. I think this is the best that can be done with 1 booster. It might even be better than your 59 slot design.
@@Aqajj Nah you're probably absolutely right. I only play for 30 mins in the morning and 2-4 hours at night by the way. I didn't account for being forced to sell raw though in the Palia Garden Planner because that specific calculator assumes all of the Bok Choy is being processed, which is impossible.
This is so much more intensive than the math I did to figure out that blueberries and cranberries make the most money in Stardew Valley 😂😂 Thank you for sharing all this info! I love when real life skills can be applied to games. Although in my case, I'm the opposite in that I've found my game skills have helped me in real life lol. Viva la bok choy! I'll def be starting a bok choy kimchi farm (and bok choy kimchi sounds delicious)
о господи! он сделал эту таблицу, чтобы мне не пришлось. Я буквально думаю о том, что стоило бы на практике посчитать профит уже около месяца и вот оно! Спасибо!
I watched on .5x speed, rewatched MULTIPLE times and I’m still confused 😭 I thought I was decent at formulas but goddamn I clearly have much to learn 🙇🏻♀️
I wonder if that only works, if you are basically all the time logged in are or if this works if you only logg in 3 times a day. For me onions work perfect 😊😊
The top chart is the theoretical max gold per playing hour, so the less you play the more money you make per hour played. The bottom chart is based on playing 24/7. The candlestick chart in the top right is a visual representation of this showing whether a crop can make money while you’re offline. I haven’t come up with a way to factor in specific play time per day yet. So depending on how often you play, you’ll end up somewhere along that blue bar.
Shouldn't a potato tomato corn rice pattern be considered? or the same without the tomatoes? just potato raw average 4952/day with tomato raw average 4728/dqy Last Harvest Day 10 = 47281and 49522 only potato rice corn In any case your father remains the most commendable well done 51 976 raw Average 5198/Day
Nothing wrong with putting in the effort for this...and it's useful info. But you go through it WAY too fast, and way too mechanically. You don't really include examples while you're explaining each step of each formula, and it clearly sounds like you're just speaking something already written out. You're just reading it aloud, not actually focusing on your pace and diction to make sure what you're saying is clearly understood. Your speech is also far too monotonous and even when I slow the video a bit so I can focus on absorbing the information, it's just so bland. It sucks, because again, the information is very useful...and you clearly put a ton of effort into acquiring and compiling it. But the delivery of it to those seeking it...just falls flat on its face. I'm still grateful it's available, but if you choose to do something like this in the future for this or any other game, pay extra attention to your patterns of speech, pacing, and tone. Record each piece of each formula separately and then combine them in editing. Get each bit right for keeping things digestible for viewers, and then edit them together appropriately. But, in the meantime, thanks for the effort.
I do have a hard time speaking to the mic, for some reason I get really nervous and hate recording like 100 takes. It actually is recorded in parts and edited together but sadly is edited for trying to not bore the viewer with a ton of blank space. Maybe I went too far and made it too much all at once. It is hard sometimes to keep the attention of a viewer while also making the video long enough to get everything across. I really appreciate the feedback you've given, and I will take it into consideration for the next spreadsheet video I make. Thank you for taking the time to write it and sharing.
@@Aqajj I could've been softer about it while still being constructive, so I apologize for that. I'd recommend doing practice runs. Little recordings of each segment that you won't keep long, but watch it back to remind yourself to slow it down, or change something else in the next take. Then just keep practicing. Not for the sake of actually releasing a specific video, but rather making a faux video over and over to get into better habits. Slow equals smooth, smooth equals fast. It's a kind of golden rule for artillery gunners, but it surprisingly applies pretty fully to almost any aspect of life.
Some people find it fun to run the math and figure out stuff like this. Just because you have a different play style doesn’t another’s play style is sad. Game’s are supposed to be fun for everyone and each person gets to decide what that means for them.
There’s a ton of different garden layouts in Palia’s discord under the gardening channel.
Also, check out this design I made for a single boosted crop: palia-garden-planner.vercel.app/?layout=v0.2_DIM-111-111-111_CROPS-RBkRBkBkBkBkRBk-BkBkBkBkRBkBkBkBk-RBkRBkBkBkBkRBk-BkBkBkRBkBkBkBkR-RBkRBkBkBkBkRBk-BkBkBkBkBkRRBkBk-RBkBkBkBkBkBkRBk-BkBkBkRBkRBkBkBk-BkBkRBkBkBkBkRBk
It provides the same boost as a 21 rice field but gives you an extra free bok choy that sadly isn't harvest boosted. I think this is the best that can be done with 1 booster. It might even be better than your 59 slot design.
@@Aqajj Nah you're probably absolutely right. I only play for 30 mins in the morning and 2-4 hours at night by the way. I didn't account for being forced to sell raw though in the Palia Garden Planner because that specific calculator assumes all of the Bok Choy is being processed, which is impossible.
good job a lot of effort put into it good energy 💯
Thank you very much, I hope you enjoy using it!
I love Palia nerd spreadsheets 😂❤ I made one and my friends were like no way!! Yes way!! 🎉🎉
Do you by chance, play Eve online???
I have not played Eve Online though I have heard about it for years.
о господи! он сделал эту таблицу, чтобы мне не пришлось.
@@Aqajj great! Thank you 🙏🏻
can someone summarize all this and tell me what to harvest for the best value money ,thanks lol
The absolute simplest answer: Bok Choy
How much gold do you earn per real day? I’m guessing you run the seed maker throughout the day and sell the next day when you empty them out
Shouldn't a potato tomato corn rice pattern be considered?
or the same without the tomatoes?
just potato raw average 4952/day
with tomato raw average 4728/dqy
Last Harvest Day 10 = 47281and 49522 only potato rice corn
In any case your father remains the most commendable well done 51 976 raw Average 5198/Day
my brain is not braining
I have more bok choy than what I know how to process with despite running 26 seeders 😭
I honestly hate doing the garden.
What do you hate about gardening?
Its corn 😂😂😂
Palia is a game, you are a very sad individual
Some people find it fun to run the math and figure out stuff like this. Just because you have a different play style doesn’t another’s play style is sad. Game’s are supposed to be fun for everyone and each person gets to decide what that means for them.
People also should really know that this is a passive income. Amazing video as always
Bravo! We appreciate your time and efforts so much!
Can anyone direct me to where I can find the best garden layout to support these numbers? 🫶🏽
There’s a ton of different garden layouts in Palia’s discord under the gardening channel. If you are looking for one to go the bok Choy route, there’s a video on the channel about my custom layout that will get you a ton of bok choy without fertilizer. The layout is best for people with less play time per day.
