I kind of agree in a way that this is the most fun way, while sometimes I do targetfarm if I get in a hunting/fishing flow which is also very profitable solo
Exactly, that's what I do. Like if I need to go get ore/wood, I take my smoke bombs with me and catch what gets in my way, while picking flowers/shrooms. Or I'll hit all the fishing spots while gathering moss/lotus. I've had no problem making $$ doing it that way...and farming really is profitable. I keep one stack of each veggie and sell the rest and cha-ching!

Bug cathing is a very useful thing. When you run mining for iron in Buhary bay - always catch bugs which spawn after you have mined iron node - it's the only way to get silk. If you chop down a tree there - it can spawn a bee which, i think, can be used later.
nine days later but you can get silk from other ways, like catching the princess ladybug, it spawns, rarely, (for what I know) where you find the carpet moss
The most money/time you can get is looking for groups to bake celebration cakes. Cooking and selling cakes can generate about 40-60k/hr depending on how many star cakes you make. Star blueberries and star jam is the best way to increase star quality cake chance. The only down side is you need to find a bunch of people to bake with which takes some time itself.

Great video, and I love how dedicated and thorough you are with your tests. I would like to see the time it takes to grill those fish and the cost in time and gold to generate the worms added in. If you take hunting you have the price and time of making arrows, but apart from that you can sell it all as is, or you can spend more time making leather and cooking.. the core value should be "gold earned" / time spent (preparation, activity, post activity) - peraparation expenses. That should give a more accurate measurement and make it easier to compare the different activities.
I do love to do the fisherman brew, its not the only thing i do when I'm out collecting them, i keep going up and down the beach and to the different fields with the Sernuk, gathering, hunting and mining all at the same time. that way i get a good deal of stuff i can sell in various ways

Thanks for the guide! Gardening is awesome as a passive income. But a 9x9 field with only tomatoes is not to recommend. It will then require water each day! So not so passive anymore and you will also miss out the harvest boost require you to also use fertilizers that also takes time and energy to maintain. I recommend you to find a good template pattern that give you 1: Water Retain and 2: Harvest Boost on as many plants you can. All of them if you use a good template. Sure, this will require you to remove some tomato plants in order to put in other plants that give you the Water Retain and Harvest boost but that will give you other crops that also sell for some, and also you get more diffrent crops to use in diffrent cooking recipies as well. In the long run its probably worth it :) @@PaulyPop
I think catching bugs is the absolute worst mechanic in this game. I want a net and a stealth ability. Throwing smoke bombs is just not fun. I struggle to level this skill up
I love it so much especially with the buzzy jar I just go around the map catching them and getting silk that sells for a lot like 5 pieces of silk is like 1,100
You realize that's generally a good thing, yeah? If one way of playing the game is generating 10x more gold per hour than any other way, it should probably be nerfed to be brought closer in line with the intended gold per hour.
So for the hunting...what's your CoG's? How much value in copper/wood do you lose? That technically counts against your profits. Does the profit equate that? Is it still #1?
Gonna try the tomato farm after my fields clear, been making mass cotton for money cause fabric sells well, and i never really thought of actully checking what made more gold in the long run. thanks for the vid edit:decided to actually look at what fabric gold was vs cotton and i've been wasting my time for 3 gold pieces more
But tomatoes don't need replanting seeds so often so you are saving a lot of money from that. I don't have the maths with me now but i think tomatoes are better.
The question is which of these can bring you the most money w/o needing to mine or melt anything, because yeah hunting will bring you 20k Gold an hour, but if you deduct the value of all the copper you needed to make these arrows and the time you took to chop down trees, it's not worth it 😂
Yeah this was the problem with a lot of this video. Cooking is 11k per hour once you've spent 3 hours farming ingredients and a bunch of gold on the eggs. Would love to see an updated video where everything is accounted for. Even fishing it was 30 minutes of farming and then ?? Minutes cooking them. The cooking time needs to be counted if you're using the cooked fish for profit calculations
All professions or skills in this game require some form of prepwork or resources, just like the hunting. You could buy bars for Arrow crafting which I don't recommend. Instead, I just farm Copper during Sernuk farms if I need it. Trust me you'll find plenty of nodes here so it will barely feel like 'you need to prepare', while for Fishing and Cooking its 100x more prepwork.
@@04AMofficial "Trust me you'll find plenty of nodes here so it will barely feel like 'you need to prepare', while for Fishing and Cooking its 100x more prepwork." I mean that's exactly their point, isn't it? While they vastly overestimate how much preparation hunting needs, they are completely right that prepwork (and even the time you need to get to your farm spot) should be included in all estimations. Also it's not just important to compare different farming methods, but also do determine if grilling meat actually nets more profit than just doing more hunting. I appreciate all the work you did, but I think you could do even better by including the whole process for each method.
@@04AMofficial Maybe but you can still go fishing with just your rod, no worm and still get good money out of it while the other methods will still require for you to mine for the clay, hunt for the fur (catching bugs) or mine the mineral, smelt them then go chop some trees to make some arrows then buy some more ingredients to make some food that'll take someone else to help you out. So IMO early game, fishing might be the best way to get money as you can even do some of it while on your plot. meaning you can attend your farm at the same time and a worm farm as well.
Farming tomatoes is really quick. I fill up seed collector and glow worms farms with one harvest and sell the rest. Then go fishing and exploring, gather palium ect. I have all the upgrades on backpack and 60K gold now. Not really playing all that much. Seems to be pretty easy way to make gold in game.
We just made ~60k Gold /hour for everyone who participated. We were 12 People and baking the Celebration Cake. (~50 times). 12 People seemed to be the cheapest way. This is a banger. We are going to do this every to every 2nd day from now on.
Multiplayer cooking is for sure the best way to get most gold, while it can be tough to set up. I want to give it a shot one day as well with such a large party. Im sure its great fun with Discord and all 😁👌
- NOTE! The new update has made mining a bit more profitable! Finding new starstones can range from 150 gold a piece up to I believe 3-5 thousand for certain starstones! (:
That farm is braindead :D my worms are basically free now with my Tomato farm and fishing with Worms also gives you 16-20K/hr , much more interesting than farming the same fish over and over imo, especially if you have a chance of catching uncommons with +200 value or epics with +400 value (which have a much higher value increment when cooked into Star Quality)
at the mansion in town, there's a little patch of water, if you stand in the right spot it would allow you to catch fish that normally are caught with worms (watch the video) @@banshee22 they patched it tho
With the fishing in the video. In order to correctly calculate your GPH, you also need to factor in the costs of the worms. And yes there is a cost, even with the worm farms. Your time put everything into the worm farms, your time gathering those materials, etc.. The GPH for that is then far less.
I agree, but that would be difficult to calculate as every player does it different. Some farm the resources for worms, some buy them and some unlock them with currency. I totally agree though that fishing is much less efficient vs hunting
I love catching bugs it’s my favorite mechanic finding silk threads and turning it into silk makes you a ton and I also use my starred bugs to make a specimen room which is so cool to me and selling the rare and epics bugs gives you a lot idk just something about that mechanic makes me happy
why standard arrows? just asking. when ever i tried hunting sernuk with standard arrows they seemed to run away instead of dying unless i shot them multiple times. am i doing something wrong or did they change something?
Trust me its not worth the struggle as different crops have different growth timers and tomatoes can even be harvested multiple times which makes it even more chaotic and diffcult to plan a working setup that doesnt get messed up all the time when farming. I decided to cut the crap and just focus on Tomatoes. It works extemely well, doesnt clutter my invetory and chest with 100 different seeds, resource qualities etc. Works for my glow farm, for cooking soups and has high sell value. There is probably a more efficient layout but time management and plan wise it wont be in the long run based on all the time and attention it needs
I guess the point is to make it most time efficient, because you can use the saved time for hunting or other profitable activities. Tomatoes work best, because you seldom have to replant. So if you are looking purely from a money making perspective it actually might be the best solution. But if you want gardening to be a bit more of an experience and also plan in cooking all the meals for the achievement you want a more diverse garden.
super sold but really doing a grid with crop boost with your tomatos is best. My actual favorite includes 4 preserving bins. I preserve by starr potatos, bluberries and apples I keep that going and keep a stock of 90 each as I sell any excess or turn it into seeds.
Eh I enjoy the bug catching the most. And while I do it I have like 4-5 looms running making silk from the silk strands that I get from bug catching. I used the buzzy jars to track only rare and up bugs in Bahari Bay. Yesterday I ended up getting 4.5k in 15 minutes(the amount a jar tracker lasts) 😅
I always have rice in my fields. Rice for meaty stir fry is great because it only really needs you to grow any veggie + rice. The real kicker with rice is sashimi, once you have glow worms just fish in your base for scarlet koi and mottled gobi. You get more profit from the combined prices of rice, spice, and fish by turning it into sashimi and almost double if you get quality. You sell the quality ones and throw the normal ones inside the glow worm box which gives you 3 glow worms and 15 fertilizers per sashimi giving 9 glow worms and 45 fertilizers per fish. Each fertilizer also sells for 5 gold ea meaning you also get 75g for each sashimi inside the glow worm box or 225g per fish so you're getting increased profits while getting a steady source of glow worms. My end game is basically 60 tomatoes and 21 (normal) rice, fish inside the base all day with glowworm and make sashimi. You can also invite friends so they get tens of thousands of gold for quite literally free.
Mining is actually really good , when you start getting a lot of gems , they sell for a lot . some sell for 2k each. so dont discount mining altogether
Just today I told my friend about the tomato farm bc it's reusable as well as it's too easy to manage the farm better 😄 Was thinking why i am planting wheat plant tomato you can re-use it and earn stable income 😅
GReat video I just subbed. I have a question. Do you know if there is a way to hook up a game controller to the game? I would love to play this on my 65 inch TV instead of my little laptop.
Great video, I'm currently fishing with no bait behind the mayor's house. Any rod will do and only one fish spawns there. Its sells for 85 and one stack in 425 😅
Thanks so much for making this video. As a new gamer it's hard to figure these things out! I also think the hunting is my absolute favorite (but kinda hard because I had to get over killing animals, lol) but I'm happy to see I'm focusing on the better things to make money with already. I was surprised about the fishing and am still working on getting a couple more crafters permits so I can place more glow worm farms...but then I have to find flow...ug. lol Interesting you don't have the blueberries or apples. I was thinking the blueberries once made into preserves would make a lot of money but it takes 47 minutes to make them so now, as you say, probably not the best use of my time for making money on that one at least.
After you hunt and then cook meat - did you add cooking time to gold per hour calculation? You are after all doing that at opportunity cost of more hunting.
18:10 question: if you cook with multiple person, don't you also have to divide the dishes? or does everyone get the full amount? (my bigger problem currently is, the scarcity of ores QAQ, even if i had money to buy recipes, i dont have ores for like clay, and bronze and iron and what not)
I haven't done cooking with others, but from what I understand anyone who contributes anything to the recipe, even if they just interact with a stove to turn it on all get x3 of the food being cooked once it is finished.
This is correct. The more people you bring to a Cooking party, the more u can divide the requirements - everyone who participated in the Minigames and provided resources, will get the FULL reward. So in this case the resources are divided by 2 and both get 3x the dish at the end of the cooking game. Do this with say 10 people for a more difficult dish and it becomes very ez to 1 provide resources and 2 faster to finish it. You can easily make 30-40K gold per hour depending on the setup
Everyone gets full amount. Each person that is doing a task is using THEIR ingredients, not the person who's house you're at. There are times when I won't have a specific ingredient, but we can still make it because the person I'm cooking with will have those ingredients. Each recipe makes 3 meals, and everyone who participates in some way to that meal, even if it is just to stir a bowl or flip a pan will get 3 meals.
Bug catching is worthy only if you know how to do it and after level 10; it is not boring at all at higher levels IMO. Hunting all the time makes the game a little bit boring don't you think? Thanks for the great video as always.
I hoped bug catching was gonna be a bit more than throwing bombs on them late game but unfortunately not. The bug lure and tracker seem interesting, but hunting is more my vibe I guess :P cheers!
@@04AMofficial I mean it depends on how you look at it . Bug hunting is throwing a bomb and deer hunting is throwing a stick . At the end of the day it is all throwing something at something . One could argue fishing is throwing a worm at a fish , minning is throwing a pick at a rock . Gardening is throwing water at a plant . Cooking is throwing tomatoes at a stove . ROFL XD
When you say sharing resources with party members that means, only 1 needs to have the ingredients and the other just need to participate in cutting cooking stirring?
I've made most of my money bug catching. Definitely slept on. Tho there is only one good spot I've found. Mirror fields, leafhoppers and dragonflies are faily common and from my experience is about 10k an hour. Better rates during the day. Pro tip, foliage set to low for best visibility.
Hunting makes 16-20K though, fishing also around 16K per hour (without calculating the cost of making glow worms etc). Bug catching doesnt get close imo, but if you like it go for it! Its not all about the 'best way', have fun while youre doing it because only then it will be efficient and worth it long term
@@04AMofficial Yes, totally! Not knocking anything as I do a mix of everything at this point. Just looking to find viable methods for each skill. Like you said, not all about the best way. I just see bug catching downed on and it can be decent if catching with purpose. I also realized silk can be processed and added to this total, not sure exactly how much. I'd guess another 1.5k. My main complaint is lack of variety. I've yet to test a lot in bahari. I think running the river for inky dragonflies could be viable. I'll probably test soon. But mirror fields is the only spot in town. Helps to learn which are rare as well, most tend to be worth 120+. I always snag those if I pass one.
I need you to see pies and cakes revenue / hour 04AM hahaha... it is insane. Althought the cakes require a lot of people and coordination while all of them require people to go forage sweetleaves. Anyway, solo money making wise, turn star tomatoes to star seeds, replant some of the seeds, sell the rest. Standard crops feed to glowworms, sell the fertilizers and use the glowworms to get fishes. Blueberries goes to preserve bins and apples goes to apple pies.
Best to make money for me is hunt Gems all colours! I got all Mining Spots and come home with Mats to craft stones , Firestones and Iron or Copper and many Gems they are worth 30 min 5-10k Gold in sellingbox ! But i have Mats to craft other things with Stones , Iron and Copper! U got mats and craft ure fishBrew to Zero and have nothing but a bit gold! Hope that helps! Take all Minings not only copper and Iron only then the most of the Gems are in normal Mining Stone Spots! Hav Fun!
Are the tomatoes the best one to farm? I've been using cotton but now don't know xD The fact that you dont have to plant them again right after the harvest is actually very usefull, even it only lasts for like 2 harvests
You cast the line and wait. Something will pull the line a few times but you only click when there is a "chime", telling you a fish has hooked. Then you have to keep reeling it in, while inside the safe space (green). If its outside (red) stop reeling or it will depeel you fishing rod health and, if that gets to 0, younlose the fish. With that in mind, you just have to stear the rod left and right till you get it. Just keep in mind that some fish may jump and when they do dont reel in, just wait and then proceed. Hope this helps
Farming i make 5tomatoes and 4potatoes "so there is not 2 of one kind beside eachother" this way i dont need to water anything, making seeds out of the tomatoes and pickled potatoes out of the potatoes
making pickled or jam is earns you almost 50% increased income, though it takes some time you can end up having so much you both sell pickled/jam goods and raw food.
As explained in the video, you have a small chance that combining standard items can turn into a Star Quality dish with about 30% more value. So if you are lucky, you can boost the total food value a lot! Same counts for the Fisherman Brew
Personally I love the most doing hunting. Fishing is just brain melting boring and catching bugs is a bit annoying, you can see animals from far away but to see a bug you need to be pretty close. By hunting I as well can go to part of the map to either focus on mushrooms, mining or gathering spice sprouts, whichever I need at the moment. Then I can cook with it and just take a look at my farm every time I come back. Only thing I would say depending on if you want to make full profit I'd recommend making leather. It takes 4 hours to make a stack of 50 but you will get slightly more and you can just log off. Maybe you can combine it with making 50 leather when you are done with the game so you don't need to wait, it will just happen. But imo you can as well just play, at the end of playing sell what you've made and put another 50. Game developers definetly should make leather more than only 2 gold more tho. But as well it is just good to always have resources, you never know, maybe you will need 10 leather to some quest and then you will just have it instead of waiting 50 minutes.
How is it that every video I see they are making so much out of a full inventory and im only making barely 1k out of a full inventory with one backpack expansion nothing that im catching is worth mira than 100
Ngl, doing any of these methods for an hour sounds like a pain. Fishing or cooking seem to be the worst in terms of fun while hunting still lets you run around. Keep in mind that the latest patch nerfed the spawning of creatures in Kilima which makes it way less profitable at any stage in the game.
I think the best method is just to do all of them rotating in whatever is most convenient for you at the time.
I kind of agree in a way that this is the most fun way, while sometimes I do targetfarm if I get in a hunting/fishing flow which is also very profitable solo

@@04AMofficial
"Trust me you'll find plenty of nodes here so it will barely feel like 'you need to prepare', while for Fishing and Cooking its 100x more prepwork."
I mean that's exactly their point, isn't it?
Don't forget to passively process your tomatoes through the preserving process to get picked tomatoes for even more money! 😊
Im sure its great fun with Discord and all 😁👌
Fun and money maker xD I can buy so much stuff now. Great@@04AMofficial
Where do you get the cake recipe?
@@cmykategirl i believe it was from reth at a specific cooking level. Let me know if im wrong, i will check later :)

- NOTE! The new update has made mining a bit more profitable! Finding new starstones can range from 150 gold a piece up to I believe 3-5 thousand for certain starstones! (:
Same! You can easily farm 10k in 10m!! It's crazy. Not to sure if it's gonna get nerfed? But right now the best money making method is mining!
@@SKETCHGAMING69 it’s insanityyyyy
@@AXVVX gonna put up a new video on it today! ;) haha
11:28 Never knew potatoes were red like that xD
it still cannot beat the fishing at mansion, where i can get 8500 in 42min, all this without spent any worms, so its clean cash :)
That farm is braindead :D my worms are basically free now with my Tomato farm and fishing with Worms also gives you 16-20K/hr , much more interesting than farming the same fish over and over imo, especially if you have a chance of catching uncommons with +200 value or epics with +400 value (which have a much higher value increment when cooked into Star Quality)
not anymore, they fixed the bug xD
new patch
@@pheniks0what bug?
at the mansion in town, there's a little patch of water, if you stand in the right spot it would allow you to catch fish that normally are caught with worms (watch the video) @@banshee22 they patched it tho
thanks for this video! i just started playing palia & i’ll definitely keep all these methods you’ve covered in mind!
Thank u in taking the time for a great guide which I will be using.keep up the great work
Glad you like it, will keep em coming!
wouldn't it be more profitable to grow tomatoes with some layouts mixing in other crops for water retaining and boosting amount of tomatoes harvested?
Trust me its not worth the struggle as different crops have different growth timers and tomatoes can even be harvested multiple times which makes it even more chaotic and diffcult to plan a working setup that doesnt get messed up all the time when farming. I decided to cut the crap and just focus on Tomatoes. It works extemely well, doesnt clutter my invetory and chest with 100 different seeds, resource qualities etc. Works for my glow farm, for cooking soups and has high sell value. There is probably a more efficient layout but time management and plan wise it wont be in the long run based on all the time and attention it needs
@@04AMofficial yeah, I don't know if I really like that complexity of making layouts. Weird feature.
@@04AMofficial I generally will do tomatoes and potatoes to get the hydration buffs on everything and then make lots of loaded potato soup.
I would love to play this on my 65 inch TV instead of my little laptop.
this should be updated cause i'd love to see what the odds are for Muujin hunting. i swear it's probably the #1 best hunting strat for money
Great video, I'm currently fishing with no bait behind the mayor's house.
Any rod will do and only one fish spawns there. Its sells for 85 and one stack in 425 😅
I know that method, but I find it too braindead and not fun at all xD
@04AMofficial Yeah it's a bit boring but I want money fast so I'm using in-between grinds for ore and clay deposits spawning back in haha 😄
it's a bug, no idea when it will be fixed
so not really a steady income :P
never mind, they fixed it
Thanks so much for making this video.
Im going to try hunting tomorrow. In game of course. And going to try fishing in paval mines.
@@04AMofficial what I like is finding those rare bugs. And yes, it needs some improvements;)
ROFL XD
Thanks for this video. Very helpful. Going to have to do some cooking with my brother.
Thank you for this video.
Good calculation for lazy us. We are appreciate for it!
Do you think hunting sernak is still the best method even with the updates to hunting?
This is an EXCELLET video! Thank you for the breakdown!
What about farming cotton while hunting? Cotton has a high value tho.
When you say sharing resources with party members that means, only 1 needs to have the ingredients and the other just need to participate in cutting cooking stirring?
As long as you contribute at least 1 item to the cooking, you will get the full reward
@@04AMofficial meaning i still need to bring my own set of ingredient?
Thank you for this guide, ive been only growing onions they gave me about 1k to 2k so im going to try this out :D
I do the gardering method with tomatos but instead of seling the tomatos i make pickle tomatos
Bug cathing is my favourite next to gardening...
So the bin does that get rid of everything or do you take it all out once you know the price of it all?
the bin is for selling items easily as you do not need to go to Zeke and leave your housing plot
The hunting way got nerfed today on the patch. Less deer spawn
Good to know, I was wondering about that today - just figured someone else was out farming them to oblivion again.
yeah they destroyed the fun in deer hunting, realy sad
Sernuk hunting can still make you 16-20K gold easy, I just tested and shared my results in a new video!
Yes! I saw that. Some days ago was so many of them, now is 3/6 per area 😢
You need to subtract the cost/timetogathermats for the 400 arrows...
Hows is the all tomatoes going?
Awesome information. Thanks tons!
Preserves also gives alot of money - pickling potatos and tomatos is alot of gold too ..
I haven't gotten the glow farm yet. But is it worth fishing with the regular worms? Does the fish from regular worms sell for good money?
It is , but much less value. I recommend doing that until you unlock the Glow Worm Farms, then exclusively fish with them for maximum yield.
Is it possible to craft multiple arrows at once?
Yes, a bundle of 20 xD no, jokes aside... I wish there was an option for 100x bundles, crafting 400 is pretty annoying...
I've been using cotton but now don't know xD
The fact that you dont have to plant them again right after the harvest is actually very usefull, even it only lasts for like 2 harvests
It lasts for 3-4 for me, and I love not having to constantly replant
Why Tomatos and not star quality Cotton?
I have only caught a few fish. I usually lose them. Not sure why I can’t figure out how to fish 😢
@@anasardinha473 thank you. I thought if I stopped I would lose the fish. I’ll try that.

How does cooking boost the value? 2 of the meat equal what it is when cooked so its the same
As explained in the video, you have a small chance that combining standard items can turn into a Star Quality dish with about 30% more value. So if you are lucky, you can boost the total food value a lot! Same counts for the Fisherman Brew
idk i made about 4k in ten minutes with just two honey lures so i can’t say it’s bad especially not compared to mining for cash.
But as well it is just good to always have resources, you never know, maybe you will need 10 leather to some quest and then you will just have it instead of waiting 50 minutes.
zeki store have alot of seeds to seel
How is it that every video I see they are making so much out of a full inventory and im only making barely 1k out of a full inventory with one backpack expansion nothing that im catching is worth mira than 100
Ngl, doing any of these methods for an hour sounds like a pain. Fishing or cooking seem to be the worst in terms of fun while hunting still lets you run around. Keep in mind that the latest patch nerfed the spawning of creatures in Kilima which makes it way less profitable at any stage in the game.
