    That Equipment doesn’t look Cheap so Why does it DIE in three (3) years ? Breach of Heat Exchanger ? Absolutely Unacceptable and Ridiculous. 🤪👎

    It all has to do with water chemistry and if you only pay your pool guy $100/month don't count on it to be ideal.

    I like the pool heater videos. That sucks when a relatively new product fails - and it's usually just after the warranty expires.

    Looks like the Homeowner allows a “Natural Prairie” around Pool Equipment. State DOT’s do that in Highway Right-of-Ways to Avoid Grass Cut Mtce. 🤪👎

    Make sure you add a corrosion resistant check valve before that chlorinator.

    Wow. I really wish I had seen this video before I bought my Jandy this year. Installed in May and already getting the IGN fault. I bought Jandy be cause the last one I had was also Jandy, but almost 20 years old and built like a tank. Looks like they're just another company building low quality junk now.

    Here in Arizona many people use a heat pump on their pool since it can be run in heating mode during cool months (November to May) and then in cooling mode during the really hot months (July to September). I don't have one so by midsummer my pool water is about 95 degrees Fahrenheit.

    Calcium deposits such as that are due to poor water chemistry maintenance. Once the water can not hold calcium any longer it deposits in the warmest parts of the pool/ heater and it salt cell. PH and Alkalinity need to be checked every 4 to 7 days and calcium levels monthly.

  • @Chris-ft2pq
    @Chris-ft2pq 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Add a Vera flow valve to jxi the will prevent water from moving through when not in use. I would also have a check valve between heater and sanitizer.

  • @ronlovell5374
    @ronlovell5374 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I see this often, most times from poor installation and wrong orientation of pool equipment. (Heater not being installed after filtration and before the electronic or cemical clorinater) and if installed correctly, no check valves in place to prevent backflow contamination. Also, with salt water pools, the cartridge type filters are junk compared to sand media filters.

    • @grapplerguy2007
      @grapplerguy2007 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lmao cartridge filters better than sand. You also should use corrosion resistant check valves but even jandy stands by regular spa jandy style check valves between cell and heater Go figure.

      If ph drops below 7.2 yes otherwise you are high on scale. We practice lsi and csi on all pools and keep a log. Many times they try and blame pool guys. But these jandy heaters are failing sometimes well before 6 months mark. Couldn't ruin a heater from chemistry this soon even if ya tried. Jandy own manual says that allow for ph to be 6.8 and alk upwards 180ppm. It's not chemistry issue. Product issue and most likely it's electronics wiring with pressure switch or pressure switch itself. This is Also stated in the troubleshooting guide in jandy manual. Igniter has it own fault code same with flow error

  • @RandyBarnard-yf5bw

    The installer failed to install a anti-corrosive check valve between the heater in the chlorinator and that is why the heat exchanger failed

      Most likely bad water chemistry, which is the cause of most heater failures. Most companies only test ph and cl levels and forget about the alkalinity levels which will eat the cooper in your pool heater.

  • @cravenmorpus

    The reason the heater is wired in with the pump is bc you want the heater to turn off with the pump, otherwise you could catch the heater on fire or burn the heater and other items up.
    Also, the calcium build up is bc it's a salt pool and they most likely don't pay attention to their pH and calcium levels like they should.
