i really love the animations in this game, it's really uncommon to see reload animations of a person that is not super-trained-soldier-man but a pretty normal person that only uses a weapon because the situation leaves them no choice
I kinda wish this game had more weapons, I know it's not the aim of the game but I don't want it for the "coolness" factor, just to see more animations in this realistic, "civilian" sorta style 😂
I have a .22 revolver that requires you to eject each case individually. In theory, it would take a lot longer than the revolver used in this game, yet I can load it way faster than they can in this game even if I'm not rushing myself. Also, he shouldn't have to twist the cylinder around after loading each shot. Also, for all the guns, the character doesn't just grab a handful and load them in. Instead he has to reach in his pocket for each individual round.
@@thetriborg9588 It's because the Haruspex, and I assume both other protagonists from Pathologic 1, are canonically bad with firearms. Edit: Apparently that's the bachelor? Point still stands.

The first time I reloaded a gun, I was amazed over how long it took to reload it and how much weight was in the animation. It was like the game wanted me to know that I'm not just pressing R to reload: I'm preparing to take a life. That hit heavy.
So i came across this game recently and been watching videos about it a lot after looking for a good survival game, dayz, the forest etc. but this one seems so unique and not talked about a lot that I’m thinking of trying this one instead, but I don’t have a pc yet. Does it work fine on ps5 now in 2023 or should I save up for the pc and show some patience?
This is a psycho comment. You load a gun either because you have not made a decision yet, and you simply want to be prepared. Or you load a gun because your life depends on it, the decision already having been made long ago. What you're describing is loading a gun with premeditation. Normal people don't do that, unless you're murder hobo-ing your way through the game, valid strat, but then again you clearly wouldn't value life at that point. Your character reloads his weapon slowly because the devs don't want reloading in the middle of a fight against multiple assailants to be a viable strat. It's Pathalogic, not Hunt: Showdown.
I saw this video back in the first half of 2021. And i want to thank you I've always liked to see reload and gun compilation in games, because the way guns are presented in games is like a mirror reflection of what the game is. When i came across the long dark, it was great, it really shows how you trying to survive, risking both resources and life when using it. Mackenzie is not superman, his encounter with any wolf, thin ice, blizzard or wound may not end well. And then i saw this video. Footage felt like Leningrad blockade. The atmosphere is so great, and the way guns are presented is perfect. You really know you're holding the tool of defence in hard times, and pulling the trigger is serious thing, and still not a guarantee of safety, because main hero(es) is human, he can miss, he's not a sponge for bullets or hits, and definitely not experienced combatant or gun user, and reloading takes time. The way it presented is perfectly describes the world of creation, not destroying. Main hero is trying to save this miraculous town, to think what to do next to not let the town rip itself apart. I started playing first pathologic in summer/autumn of 2021. This year was one of the hardest, but pathologic made it much, much easier. Yet, every time i come across pathologic videos on youtube, or see it's icon on my pc - i feel true calm. This game saved my mental state at hard times, and now it's the only thing that gives me sense of home, and sense of protection.
I love how muted and underwhelming the reports of the revolver and bolt-action rifle are-as though the game is deliberately withholding the satisfaction of using a powerful weapon.
Well, Artemy has no reason to use them. They puncture rather than cut along the Lines, even his item descriptions say how unnatural they feel to him. Daniil might have an easier time getting and using them, since context wise they are tools of science and a way to fight logically from range (although he has no credible reason to know how use them). Clara doesn't have the physical build or training to use weapons, so who knows what she will do, the devs admitted that her route was half baked and rushed in the first game, so her gameplay has the greatest possibility of being redesigned.

i can't really see pathologic 2 beeing a competitive shooter, but some sort of multiplayer would be super interesting, even maybe just coop with the difficulty cranked even higher to compensate for there being two of you. imagine that but without global voice chat, forcing you to either constantly travel together or decide when and where to split up and meet up again. And then when you get to the meetup point you have to think 'is he late? how long should i wait, i'm getting pretty hungry, did he get blocked by infection or something, is he dead and am i wasting time'.

The revolver is most likely a webley-fosbery revolver, which fires .455 webley mkII bullets, a similar calibre to .45 acp but a lower velocity and charge and therefor has less recoil.
