Daniella and Pasha both becoming pros is one of the best things to happen to this show in a long time. The SYTYCD pros are great but I miss the more traditional ballroom dancers that DWTS had in the earlier seasons. Hopefully Daniella and Pasha get paired with more capable, young partners next season so we could REALLY see some ballroom magic
Yeah Meryl was definitely a sports car for this metaphor. I believe that she was the best celebratory EVER on the show. Of course it came from multiple factors: her ice dancing background, natural skills, ability to be graceful AND strong, ability to act, her hard work, and Maks's wonderful choreography!
Daniella DEFINITELY gives me Karina Smirnoff quality and that's such a compliment. I thought that the second I saw her dance. I was like this girl is a "force". Continuing with the ball refrence, if you want to brag about your team you better have ALL STARS, and Daniella is DWTS new AllStar. Not because she made the finals in her "rookie" season. Because her presence on the show, raises the stakes. You fucking with a national champion.this ain't no cute for show stuff, Daniella is "about that life" sorta speak. And I hope her presence sorta like (Mark Ballas presence) forces all the other pros, male and female to step it up.

Compete yes not a judge , is not equitable for the others pros and the stars , Maks brother, wife,sister in law in the show I don't think DWTS productions will be making a decision like that CHERYL or Derek good choice. Val is too bias.
From the first time I watched Daniella dance I thought of Karina!! They are both beautiful dancers!!
She comes close. So close. But Karina is the best female the show has ever had.

I love that you guys gave credit to Karina because she dances on a whole other level imo. And Daniella reminds me of Karina in the way she uses her legs, it's so impressive.
During that time frame of DWTS, Karina and Anna were my two favorite female pros. Karina was like fire and Anna was so graceful, it was like you could see the air move when she danced.

Towards the end of the season I waited to watch all the dances cause they were so much more fun to watch with you 😄 I never have had a big desire to dance until this and you, and I will definitely be tuning into some online dance lessons whether that be through this or dance with me so thank you!! I hope you keep these coming with other seasons 👑 much love to you and your family!

I didn't get to watch the season where you were teamed with Merrill and won the mirror ball... I look back at all the dances. You two were extraordinary. Your dancers were so beautiful and your choreography was stunning. You are very talented I know it's a long time ago but you were so deserving of the win for all your years, but particularly for that one.

The bond that these brothers have is incredible! I think that they should start their own youtube channel that is separate from dance. I would love to see them react to the viral video "mobbed by raccoons" or have them react to 90 days fiancé. These men have a TON of personality, and as much as I love this channel, I would definitely love to see more.

Someone finally brought up the fact that these are COUPLES!!! I was so creeped out by the lack of pro’s last names... it’s merely a lack of respect imo, they put so much work into every single week that it just doesn’t make sense!

Nev and Jenna were great but Jenna was who I watched the whole time towards the end. In the beginning of the season I did watch nev but he really didn't continue to improve as an entertainer. He really peaked on swan lake and Kaitlyn peaked in the finale. She really learned how to become more entertaining.

Do you think that it is possible that Jenna & Niev were too good? DWTS audience love to root for underdogs. A journey with struggle is more intimate & appealing to some then perfection which is Jenna team. It is eye of the beholder. As dancers it must be difficult to keep mouth closed as your celeb team member who you see work so much being picked apart. Great conversation. Love the show.
(Sorry for the long rant but I have deep feelings about it all so here it goes..)
I do love an underdog story. I think it’s what the show should be about. You want to teach a celeb how to dance that doesn’t have dance experience and groom him/her to be great, and watch them have such a special journey.
When you see an excellent dancing celeb straight away in week 1, yes it’s exciting in week 1 because it’s new, and it may be that for the following couple weeks, but unless you have a pro who kills it every week with jaw-dropping choreo and pair that with a celeb who brings an abundance of emotion and storytelling to every dance, it gets boring for viewers to watch and they no longer get excited to vote for them. It becomes the “same old” every week to the viewer, even if it’s technically close to perfect dancing each week.
I think Kaitlyn was technically good this season but there was no storytelling for me. There was no feeling and emotion with most of her dances in my opinion. It was just clean crisp dancing. I also never saw any attack and power in her dances. If she wasn’t part of Bachelor Nation, I do not think she would have been the winner this season, I really don’t.
Now compare Kaitlyn to Justina....
Some may say there is no comparison, but Justina told a story with every dance. She brought forward powerful messages and emotions with her dances week after week that caught the attention of viewers and stole everyone’s hearts. Her dances made you want to pick up your phone and vote for her. Her dances might not have been perfect technically but her dancing made people feel so good inside.
Look at the dance battle this season, for example...Justina and Kaitlyn battled it out with a cha cha for extra judges points. They competed side by side, and even with all the technique that Kaitlyn brought, JUSTINA STILL BEAT HER. The judges chose JUSTINA in the end. That says a lot to me. And props to Justina for that well-deserved win...especially now seeing that Kaitlyn won the whole damn show.
Justina made viewers thirsty for more every week. She should be so proud of the work she did on the show, and props to Sasha for bringing out the best in her. The problem is, as we’ve seen now in the past couple seasons especially, popularity has completely taken over. Bachelor Nation is a force that’s hard to take down. Look at Grocery store Joe. Jenna was even paired with him a few seasons ago. He was arguably one of the WORST dancers ever on DWTS and he got very far in the competition because he’s from the Bachelor, and that’s the only reason. I love Jenna but him going far had nothing to do with her. The Bachelor is heavily promoted during every commercial break on DWTS, so there you go too, and that sometimes seems a bit fishy to me. (just saying)
You throw a Bachelor/Bachelorette into a season, it makes it very tough for anyone to beat regardless of dancing skills. And that’s what has become very unfortunate about the show.
I really wish there could be a redemption season. Leave Bachelor Nation out of it and bring back the true blues like Juan Pablo who was incredible, whose times were cut far too short because they weren’t as popular. I think it would be an incredible season to have. Def bring back Justina for that season. Someone like Justina is needed in today’s crazy world. She makes you feel like anything’s possible. She brings pure joy and happiness into our homes.
She should have NEVER finished 4th behind Nelly. That was messed up.
Ok I’m done now. Sorry for the long rant. I’m just such a passionate DWTS fan, since the beginning, and I can’t let certain things go unspoken.
Overall though, great Season 29.
@@coffeelove6654 I love your logic. I appreciate the thought out way you reason. Justuna truly deseeved more. I enjoyed Nelly personality and kindness which i think got him so far. That is 1 reason why it is not just a dance show. Some variables are just that...popularity or storyline & definately Bachleor heavily promoted. I was so so happy for Artem & long time coming. It was very similar to Max. I am not sure about Tyra yet. I miss Tom. I feel it was unfair the way things happened. DWTS still great show and look forward to watching.

Daniella’s Paso was amazing, I wish she could have danced it with someone else. That dance deserved its moment. It didn’t have it.

YES it would be so nice if the cameras spent more time focusing on footwork rather than faces!! I cannot begin to tell you how many times I’ve gotten frustrated over this and it’s so nice to hear that the pros think the same. Don’t get me wrong, I love your beautiful faces but we’re missing the technique y’all worked so hard on!

I spend A LOT of time while watching dancing and gymnastics yelling at the camera ‘guy’ for not understanding how I want to see all of them in every shot. I don’t need a hand close up ffs and don’t even get me started about the 360 camera 🙄 🥴. The car analogy could not have been better!! What a perfect way to explain ones mindset at the ‘start’ and putting reality in perspective. Daniella was an awesome new addition. Not just her dance ability but her teaching ability too. Similar to how Peta was able to bring out the best in Tommy which was above and beyond expectations. Great segment! Thank you both! Especially Maks for having this show. It’s my favorite place for commentary. 🩰🎼💃🕺🗣🎙🙏

I agree w these guys .. I would also like to go back to basic ballroom and Latin dances w the rules !!! No one should be breaking hold on tango or quick step .. Mario Lopez got a 6 for breaking hold and he was one of the best !! I get sick of seeing people break the basic rules and still get good scores !! Bristol and mark got docked points for breaking hold .. but Carrie Ann is still the lift police .. well that’s not fair if you’re not gonna go by the rules for other things from day one .. and I remember Caitlyn and Artem taking several bars and seconds on one of their routines just using time instead of actual dancing!!.. they should have gotten docked for that .!! She’s better than that and so is Artem .. we need to get back to what makes the show important to the dancers judges and stars ..
Can we please get Val to Partner with VS model Candice Swanepoel??? Shes got amazing dance expereince and i think shed be great learning ballroom and I thnk Val would be a perfect teacher for her. Id love to see what they create!!

Agree with what Val said about the four finalists and despite the fact that I don’t agree with the winner I’m still happy for Artem and glad we even got this season with everything going in the world.

Honestly, when Zendaya and Val lost, it was so disappointing!! They were the best in season 16!! Bring her back for an all stars season!! Also, bring her on to Dance and Co!! Period!
I agree Zendaya losing that season was extremely disappointing, but at this time in her life I don't see the point in her coming back to dwts. Her career is on another level. I think dwts was a great starting point for her, but I don't think there's any need whatsoever for her to take steps backwards. Winning a mirrorball is great, but lets be clear, Zendaya is an Emmy winner...I think its safe to say she doesn't need the mirrorball, she's good.

I agree and disagree with them about Justina and Sasha. Though I do agree that for most of the season, even though Justina was incredible and so consistent, the choreography that Sasha put out was nothing we haven’t seen before. There could have been more originality....however, I disagree when it comes to the finale...having Justina REALLY sing during the first dance, and then Justina’s powerful message with her freestyle?! Come on now, both were very original in my opinion...and I’m even going to go a step further and say though I loved the Sasha and Justina pairing because the chemistry was the most beautiful to see of all the couples, I think Justina dominated Sasha and overpowered him each week. And it has nothing to do with technique. But Justina has such a powerful and vibrant personality that exploded every time she hit the dance floor, and I do think she could have definitely handled fresher, more original and complicated choreography. Even though Justina expressed how hard the competition was for her, I don’t think she realizes how good she was and I def think she could have handled more complex choreo.
Overall though, and I keep saying it, I don’t think Justina and Sasha got the recognition that they deserved and they def should have been Top 2 with Nev and Jenna.
Basically the short to my long-wind that answer, and what Val and Maks also were getting at, was that Sasha continuously played it very safe all season. It got him and he Justina to the finale so in a way his strategy worked, but he tends to always play it safe and does the best with showcasing proper ballroom dancing instead of adding in the extra tricks that judges don’t always enjoy. But I will say Justina (not so much Sasha) did showcase a journey, her journey and her life as a proud Latina woman.
Nev and Jenna should have won. They blew me away week after week. I’m happy for artem, but kaitlyn was just meh.

Maks, you won with Meryl, who was hands down THE best dancer. Artem won with a person who beat a better dancer and a better performer.

I would Love and more appropriate for you Maks to be one of the judges, like Mr.Hough, Cheryl since you guys excellent pro dancers, you guys will be more sensitive and understanding where the non- professional and beginners dancers point of view coming from.. The judges now are more stricter and Ifelt they have favoritism. Nelly and Daniella would have been the winner because he was a beginner and consistently improve thru the week to week session, he improve consistently every week. The judges were not right this time.
I would be down for Cheryl,Maks and Derek to take over as judges !
I just realized Val doesn’t really have an accent like Maks. Val’s voice sounds so sexy and manly compared to Maks😂
When they came to the US, Val was only 8 yrs old and being in school here from a young age made it easier for him to speak English without an accent. Maks was 14 and that made it more difficult to lose the accent.
Not to be at all disrespectful but I don't believe Artem & Kaitlyn would have won had it not been for Bachelor Nation, no possible way! On the merits of creative, challenging dance, Jenna completely SLAYED this season and she & Nev deserved the win, NO contest!!! Just like when Zendaya & Val took second, that shouldn't have happened, the win seemed all but packed in the trunks of their cars! Val was never so on with his choreo & inspiration than that season (IMO) & I feel the same way about All Stars when Shaun & Derek got second, they should've won (only consolation was that Tony got a well deserved win and none of us begrudged him doing so!) and we won't even discuss Witney & Milo with the whole Bones fiasco but all too often it comes down to popularity numbers & stuffing the ballot boxes. Us old-timers know when we see the "stuff of a winning season." And sometimes the numbers just don't add up in the correct column and it is heartbreaking! Jenna should be proud, because a ton of us know she gave it everything she had & went with her head held high!!!
Kaitlyn actually improved... Nev was pretty much the same all the way through and actually got more boring to watch as time went on.
