If you weren't one of the lucky ones to experience this on the n64 think about this. This playthought is almost 5 hours long with little detours but if you played for every triangle. Every gun every key this game took WAAAYY longer. This game was amazing as a kid to play and I love that it still getting brought up and played today
I was 5 when it released and could reach longhunter but could never beat him. I watched helplessly as my uncle destroyed him by KNIFING the hummers. Wtf?!?! Just beat it last weekend after 25 years!

Blows my mine this was on the n64. Such a huge and epic game. Sound design was incredible. Always loved the chain gun’s sound. Damn I miss being a kid. lol
Level 5, the Catacombs always gave me the Cold Spine tingling because it was Scary. Especially that Tunnel Sequence and that Low Drumming Song. On the N64, it had a Different Vibe when it came to the Music. But every Cave or Tunnel Sequence with that Low Drumming Music always gave me an Uneasy Feeling, especially with those Damn Leapers! The can Climb Walls and Swim in the Water!
Beautiful playthrough! I remember playing this game as a kid on the N64. I don't know how long it took me to beat it, but it was well over a year of entertainment before i asked my dad to do the final boss for me 😆 Also, back then we couldnt look up videos or read tips on the internet. We literally had a GUIDE BOOK back then 😂 Good times, good times

Played through Turok Remastered Recently. I had previously played Turok on n64 and the old pc version. Playing in the secondest hardest mode, boy is Turok Bullet Sponge hell in spots. Especially on the last 2 levels. I almost never had ammo in the last level of the ammo fighting the robot reskins of the enemies with the plasma guns, holy hell it was more annoying than fun. One thing that has not changed in remaster is that all bosses can be Circle Strafed with no effort regardless of difficulty.
remake is much less bullet spongy unfortunately. still great, but I actually enjoyed having to think about ammo a lot more in the original PC version. nonetheless this remaster gets a well deserved 5/5 :)

Esse jogo pra mim é sensacional. E com certeza merecia um remake. Quando joguei a primeira vez era no 64. Me lembro que passava madrugadas perdido tentando acha a saída desses labirintos. 😅
I remember thinking what a beast my athlon 650 running windows ME with a voodoo 5 and 512mb pc133 was to run this with everything maxed out. Still got that rig too. though I long since replaced the screaming 10,000 rpm velociraptor hdd for a PATA SSD. still runs like a champ, and this remake really does the original justice. Only thing I noticed after playing this version, then revisiting the old windows ME machine is the new version seems a bit easier, a lot of the bullet sponges go gown more quickly with less ammo. some see that as a blessing, but I liked the old enemy health/dmg resistance better. it was more challenging. Still a great game though. 5/5 :)

The music seems to be pitched down. it sounds really weird, but at the same time, creepy in a good way, lol. I guess that’s something apart of the remastered version that I didn’t realize was there. Also, as amazing as this version was as a child, it should be understood why I was in complete confusion when I turned on Turok 2, lol. I hated that one so bad. I still never forgave it.
The one thing I loved about this game was the I game map you can look at anytime..back then you were lucky to even have a map while your playing a game you just had to remember where to go…gta 3 is a good example that had no map in gameplay…
well most fps games always had a map. Wolfenstein 3D in 1992 did not have strafing or automaps, but every fps game Doom 1993 and later mostly did. On the n64 Turok 1/2, Duke 64, Quake 64/2, Doom 64, Hexen all had maps. I do not know if goldeneye did or not, but overall maps were pretty standard.
@@gory_at yeah I guess I need to rethink that one. Turok 2 was a better looking game, but I wish they had left in some of the more atmospheric elements of the first game. The misty effect for example.

2 Humvees and Larry bird. One of the hardest first bosses of the N64 era.

The map is really a big help in this game. On N64 there also the fog was struggling me to finish the game as a kid.
