I love how this game seems unremembered by people, but if you bring up how great it was in a room full of guys, people get excited as shit. Everyone played this game when they were younger. Personally it scared the shit out of me as a kid but I loved it. Great atmosphere
I love turok evolution because they put more emphasis on lore and atmosphere building... I mean when you enter the first stage and the music plays while you cross this huge field full of dinosaurs! That truly feels like a primordial jungle.
The first rated m game I played from uncle. Best gift I’ve ever had. Fantastic memories playing this with my dad as he would help me out when I was confused. Beautiful soundtrack. This game was a staple in my childhood and I will always be grateful for it for as long as I live. Thanks for the gameplay/nostalgia. I would love to see this game remastered.
I still play this game nearly every week. I probably hold the record for most times completed without glitches lmao. Currently on my fav chapter (10) :)
Awesome playthrough. It's refreshing to see someone playing this game, who is not completely lost and knows what to do. I wish this game gets the Nightdive treatment/overhaul at some point. It could benefit a lot from some reworked textures and slight gameplay tweaks.
If i had to put a number on the hours played since 2002 i'd say well over 10.000 hours, easy. I know this game in and out. I used to play this as a kid on my PS2 but the disc was scratched and the game would always crash at some point during the flying sequence in the beginning. I couldn't get a new copy because my father purchased it for himself and I wasn't supposed to play it because it was too graphic. I'd boot it up and play the intro again and again when nobody was around just to get to the flying sequence for it to crash and I'd have to start from the intro again. I didn't care though because I thought the game was so fun, Even split screen mode when a friend would come over. A few years later I bought a copy on game cube and beat the rest of it. Funny how it's always the music in games that are the most nostalgic. Thanks for the video!

Oh man, I can’t believe it’s been 20 years already, and roughly 10 years since I played this, time sure does fly. I’m planning on getting the GameCube again with the game on my birthday this November😊 Let’s hope Nightdive Studios will rerelease this. I used to play this with my sister all the time on GameCube, I was always the Native American character and my favorite weapons were the plasma rifle and the revolver pump shotgun. Such a classic!

@ColtTheMac96 Maybe they haven't remastered it so far because we haven't shown them much interest, the community is definitely there, i'm not a hardcore gamer anymore but i'd be buying them in a heartbeat once released. The CEO of NDS recently said they're trying to remaster Turok 3, but no official announcements have been made. They are still working on the source code. I've seen a decent amount of people mention Turok 3, Rage Wars, and Evolution in their posts.

This game was a lot better than people say it was. the big problem was that the game was rushed before it could be fully developed and the team couldn't put in everything they wanted. I remember seeing a lot of the cut content. such as the real reason the Slegs started their war with humanity to wipe us all out. Tyrannus heard of the Turok mantle and the long history of tyrants being defeated. fearing another Turok would rise up during his campaign to take over the Lost Land, he began destroying every last human city and settlement in the world. much like how Freeza destroyed all the Saiyans fearing the legend of Super Saiyan was true, or like Lord Shen with the Pandas. there can't be another Turok if there are no more humans. There was also going to be free roam areas. one of them being the village that rescued Tal-Set at the start of the game. when you walked up to one of the villagers, you could talk to them. they tell you that they're also not from the Lost Land and fell into portals that brought them here. one of the villagers is from a strange world called New York City, and another villager is from a futuristic utopia. When you see all the cut content, you'll see that Evolution was going to be a much better game than what we got. heck, there's videos showing some of the cut content. one of them being able to ride on the dinosaurs and use them as weapons.
@@superzilla784 Yes I'm aware. There is a 2 hour dialogue that was scrapped. In the beginning that tattooed bald guy Djunn. Was supposed to guide you through the first chapter. There is also a function in the game that let's you ride a Raptor. But his attacks deal no damage. You can still attack using your arsenal though.

This may be an unpopular opinion, despite the strong opinion the flight sections have, I will say, I think they are the far better part of the game due to consistency and easier to understand than the rest of the game. RIP Pistol. As for hte bows, its interesting you have the regular bow for rapid fire, the tech bow for sniping and power. also poison arrows which combined with the axe club against bigger foes its a deadly combination.
This game is a perfect example as to why Acclaim Studios went down the gutter!..The propper name for this game should be...."Turok Cheatvolution" because thst's all the game is programmed to do right from the start!
Man, I really hope Nightdive remaster this one too! I've heard it's regarded as the creative nadir of the series by some, but it was the Turok game that I enjoyed the most; I really appreciated the extra emphasis on the narrative and worldbuilding, which together with the music and visual design gave the game a really distinctive atmosphere. And hopefully sometime soon Capcom sees how successful the Turok remasters have been and triumphantly rejuvenate the series. Like, _as if_ a first-person shooter with dinosaurs won't sell like hotcakes! The only other dinosaur game we really have is "Ark", and that's not exactly a masterpiece 😅 (though I reckon it's much better than people give it credit for - but its myriad bugs and performance issues are certainly frustrating as f**k).

Guys, can you tell me where the enemy Purrlinn ape are found on what level as they are listed in the wiki for this game? How many videos I haven't watched, I haven't noticed them anywhere.

I would watch, though, and wouldn't mind if Purrlinn were helping Tyrannus. Could very well have had an alliance with them, as befits the villains of this franchise.
You watched the wrong video! You should have watched my 57 minute TAS instead! Or even my lame WR speedrun. Honestly. That's a really tough one. T3 is better at certain things. And T4 is better at others. But neither outclass each other completely. T3 has a unique vibe though. But I will say this. An Evolution remaster would have the most potential especially with mods. It always lacked enemy and weapon variety. Also I wish it had more ground levels. Maybe a desert or snowy map would be great. I'll be more excited about an Evo remaster. Combining it with T3 vibes. If something can be imported into Blender. Anything is possible. I'm currently working on a T3 themed Nuketown map from call of duty.
At 6:45 I had no idea that this shortcut even existed, what the hell, that saves so much time. Cant you use the shortcut before killing the monkeys though? At 24:45 you can just jump down. It's pretty risky as you can get yourself killed, but you skip a big portion of that part

It implies that the game has been pirated. Other games do similar things, hopefully i'm not getting in trouble since Acclaim shut down 20 years ago. At least i bought the game twice back then... I couldn't buy the game anywhere so i ended up getting the Jack Sparrow's edition. If it was on Steam i'd buy it, hopefully they remaster it one day.

I have 2 cracked versions, one doesn't have music, and the other one doesn't always save. But i believe this has to be a piracy thing. Or the person who cracked it put these textures on so that he knows its his version? Idk for sure.
@@matthewlayne5151 Ok, you can download it from my Google Drive, i have 2 versions, one version is missing cut scenes and no music but everything else works, the other one does have music and working cut scenes but saving/loading doesn't work unless you use all levels cheats. I assume you want the version that works without the music right? Let me know.

One of the best implementations of a machine gun with a rotating block of barrels!
My favorite part of the game was always the first chapter and the mountain chapter. The Vertigo stage of the suspended city was another I liked.

What are those textures on the TVs at 1:29:30? It looks like a placeholder texture or something.

@@mike406 I could be wrong though, coz i've just watched my other Turok Evolution video where i don't see these textures on these TV's. I have 2 cracked versions, one doesn't have music, and the other one doesn't always save. But i believe this has to be a piracy thing. Or the person who cracked it put these textures on so that he knows its his version? Idk for sure.

@@matthewlayne5151 Ok, you can download it from my Google Drive, i have 2 versions, one version is missing cut scenes and no music but everything else works, the other one does have music and working cut scenes but saving/loading doesn't work unless you use all levels cheats.
I assume you want the version that works without the music right? Let me know.

What did you play this on? The PC port is suppose to broken.
This is the PC Port. Which is kinda broken. Some textures are glowing. And the mouse movement sucks.
@@TheGamingChad. Huh I tried the PC port and couldn’t get the controls to work once I was in game, I could navigate the start menus but moment I took control of Tal Set nothing worked. Oh well.
