Kumander, thank you for this tour of Bataan. There are few places in the Pacific as representative of the horrors of WWII than Bataan. That is one of the places which is on the top of my bucket list to see when I eventually go to the Philippines. There is just no comparison to experiencing such historic places than by being there in person, even if it is many years after the events that made them known to us. And the refugee center museum sheds light on a more recent historical event that got very little coverage here in the US. I have to admit that I had only a cursory knowledge of this even though I knew that a refugee camp in the Philippines was the staging place for Vietnamese refugees before being processed to come to the US, so thank you also for showing us this.
Happy to see another video Anselm and you have mastered the art of vlogging that sets you apart from the others! This part of Philippine history is must read for native Filipinos like me. Thank you for covering this part of our country’s history. You are awesome!!!🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗⭐️⭐️⭐️
You're a great chronicler and teacher. You make geography and history come alive. And you take us to places that we have only read about in the school books. Thanks, KD! We should call you Sir Anselm!
Brilliant vlog Kumander, my filipino father in-law escaped from the Japanese on the death march and managed to get back home . Thank you for showing what happened .
What an interesting history about the refugees, this is the first time I heard of it thanks for sharing to the people like me. Good job Kumander D and God bless you and your family, take care always
In 1981 i was part of the us navy who were picking up Vietnamese boat people and brought them to Guam for processing; some were brought to the Philippines refugee camps. USS San jose.
OMG, I didnt expect you would pass by at PRPC(Philippine Refugee Processing Center).I used to worked there in the early 80s.Thanks for featuring PRPC in your vlog.Go to MT Samat, Bataan.
Good Morning. KD. Fantastic narration as always. I hope you're feeling better soon. Great to hear the history. But very sad. Beautiful drone footage. Beautiful sunset. You're looking well, you have lost some weight. Great to see Kulas. The food looked delicious. The baby goats are so cute. 21.42. Kulas. LOL. Lovely people. Love hearing the history. Gorgeous red sky. Good vibes. I hope you are feeling better when you wake up. Thank you for sharing. Wishing you both a great day.
Excellent video! I was never aware that some of the boat people made it to the Phils! I used to know 2 different people that were picked up by US boats when they were children. Amazing stories! Thanks for sharing!
Much respect to all the men/women who fought and made the ultimate sacrifice. Thinking of the hardship they have gone through almost made me cry. One of my client's father was one of those who survived the Bataan death march. In another note... the M2 50 caliber machine gun if I remember correctly was produced in 1933 but is still used today. It was my secondary gun in my truck during my service in Afghanistan and Iraq.
Thank you for your vlog which is really educational and helpful! It’s very informative and glad to see the actual places where put happened. I admire your effort to show us this Part of your journey. Please continue your journey in the different parts of the country and please stay safe and well!
Did not know about the refugees. Great to know our country was able to be of service to our Indochinese brothers and sisters... We were taught about the Bataan Death March since elementary, but we need these reminders and learn not to repeat history... Mt. Samat is beautiful and I love the giant cross. Haha, so funny when Kulas said you're from England but realizes right away his mistake. Maybe try telling others he's American.😆
Wow, fascinating. Always so sad to see war remnants but you’re so right… they’re a way to remind ourselves it should never happen again. Thanks for exploring and sharing, Anselm.

Amazing video as always! So important to learn the history, I remember visiting Bataan and Corregidor on my very first visit to the Philippines and although I appreciated the history then, I would definitely appreciate it so much more now. They went through so much! We've just come back from Poland and of course had to visit Auschwitz while we were there, so sad and so moving seeing everything first hand...and all so unnecessary 😢 Kulas! Glad he realised his error and corrected it to Wales 🏴🤣😜
Good that you're with Kulas, now a fellow Filipino. How about you Kumander, when are you going to formalize your citizenship? We know that you're already a Pinoy by heart. But, it would, I think, be better if you acquire Phil. citizenship formally like your friend, Kulas! God bless.
There are refugees in Puerto Princesa and Morong because of the Vietnam War . The last stand was the Corregidor island . It was the last to surrender . Crow Valley and Botolan have the biggest Lahar Desert .
The site (monument) where Gen. King signed the surrender is in Lamao, Bataan next to the covered basketball court My wife's house is less than 100 ft. from the monument. And our farm is 1.6 km from Mt. Samat cross.
Nice to see you exploring our area Kumander. Actually we call the City of San Fernando, Pampanga home and for my wants and needs I can't think of better place in the country for myself, ... although my wife being from Dumangas, Iloilo would prefer Iloilo City. 😊

KD, Maybe you are slacking on beer that why your immune sys is low and that's the reason you are sick🤣. My late Grandpa's passed nephew was part of death march. He survived the death march. He eventually immigrated in the US and passed away here. What I heard about the death march was, those prisoners who cannot walk anymore gets bayoneted. and their feet are so swollen so bad and shape like turtles. I didn't really heard about the refugees because our family immigrated in the US then. Its very interesting. Loved the Jeep Filipino RV🙂. Kulas is NOT a Filipino yet. He was eating with fork😀. @19:27 Loved the logging tricycle🙂. Filipino ingenuity👍. Excellent history vlog. Thanks for sharing KD. Take care that illness. Both of you ride safe. Keep the vlog coming.
