Hi Heath, Great description of the differences of the two knives. The two knives seem to have advantages in certain circumstances but it seems like the Soft Grip may be the best all around knife. Hope everyone is well. The virus is getting worse everywhere, so stay safe and good luck, Mickey

Hi Mickey, you're 100% correct... Sofgrip is the all around better knife... However for the average angler that fishes every once in a while... They would have to consider their options, which is why I did the comparison.. Yes sir, the virus is seeming to break out again... Not hoping for a complete shut down... Just hoping for simplicity and good health for everyone. Hope you stay safe, hope all is well on the home front. Take care :)

Hi captain Heath, never used Dexter knives, more inclined to Vitorinox brand which also is pocket friendly and offers about the same kind of blades but great job describing the product you use regularly, going to give it a try, good luck, stay safe and keep it coming!

Also like the Victorinox knives. I bought a set. Way better than just about anything else for the money. The chef's knife is great and holds an edge very well.

Thanks a million for watching and leaving some great feedback. I've seen Victorinox knives but have never used them... However, I'm always inclined to hear other people's perspectives and give new things a try. Thanks again for sharing and for your support. Tight lines & take care ;)

Thanks a million for watching... Great to hear from you, I really appreciate your support for the channel. When it comes to pliers, I haven't really gone into using name brand manufacturers, however, it's a brilliant idea... I'll be sure to star doing some homework and get it on my list. Thanks again. Tight lines & take care ;)

Thanks a bazillion for watching and leaving the endearing comment. I live at Wally World.. The one near me carries Danco, Mustad, Rapala, Cuda & Tsunami knives... All quality knives... I guess all have our favorites... I've been stuck on Dexter's for what seema like decades... But I give all the others a fair shot, I might have little bit of the "old dog, new trick" syndrome though. It's always great to hear from you... I truly enjoy a refreshing and different POV.... Thanks again for everything and for sharing. Take care ;)

So if you had to take on dexter sofgrip to clean specs and redfish, which one would you get?

Thanks a million for watching and asking a great question. I believe you are asking which sofgrip knife I would choose for the species speckled trout and redfish. I would definitely go with the 6" boning, as I have filleted both species with that knife. I does a great job removing the flesh and skinning. It's a jack of all trades knife. Hope this helps. Take care :)
