I'm to old to hunt now, but it was fun while it lasted. Now my hunting is done on you tube and I thank all you guys that post videos. I look funny as heck in the woods with my walker.
i like how the education of preserving young bucks has caught on better in the last 10-20 years. When I first started hunting a lot of people werent cognizant enough to study the deer to make sure it was a doe. "don't see a rack - it's a doe" mentality. Good Job. Congrats on your harvest
It's awesome you play the shadows when hunting on the ground..best idea for turkey hunting too as you know..I love your videos because it's real hunting..no high fence or private managed land . Keep 'em coming brother!!
Gotta love a winchester 94. In my experience a perfect shot like that can result in deer running a ways, I never judge bullet performance based on how far they go, rather how many seconds it takes from the impact till they crash. Some deer run full tilt until they're out of oxygenated blood, some run a short distance then stop and look around, some collapse on the spot. Every deer is an individual, just as we are. Great hunt and good tracking job. I'm fortunate to hunt where there's usually snow on the ground during rifle season, makes tracking really easy
Fantastic video Catman! No better cartridge has been made for close range hunting! I'm a "young-timer" and for 55 years I have always had confidence in the Winchester model 94 chambered in 30-30! Elk, bear, and moose are included.
30-30 has killed plenty of deer. I’ve only ever seen one deer actually run in my experience and only went 40 yards. Most dropped. Doesn’t blow shoulders to shreds even with hollow points. Great round for sure!
The Hornady Leverevolution has made the 30-30 reach out and touch. I'm perfectly confident to 200 yards with my 4x scope and I know guys who will take 300 with zero hesitation. Grandpas old gun has become relevant again.
Been deer hunting for 38 years with a 30-30 that my grandpa gave me. If I had to trade away all my stuff, it would be one of the last things I'd part with.
Catman, I really appreciate your videos and interviews on podcasts. As a guy about your age that is just getting into deer hunting in East Tennessee, I’ve learned a lot from ya. Hunting the hill country over here and trying to put all the pieces together. Your oak ID video was killer and my wife has been enjoying your foraging videos. Thanks for all the help
I love hunting the thick stuff. Good looking cover and some nice close encounters. On another note, Jim Ryser was rocking at the end of the video. That sounded awesome
Man I really enjoy your videos your one of like 3 that do hunting videos that I still follow your knowledge of deer and their habits are remarkable and the way you explain the where and why is second to none thank you
I hunted with a fellow called the Toothless Wonder who hunted with a Marlin 30-30. He only loaded it with one bullet because if you heard him shoot, there was meat on the ground. He had a box of rifle cartridges from 1966 in the1990’s that worked extremely well for him.
CATMAN, THE OLE CHURDY CHURDY JUST GOT DIRTY!!!! IT'S AMAZING HOW FAST THEY CAN SPOT SOMEONE REGARDLESS HOW MUCH CAMO YOU HAVE ON!! DEER HUNTING IS MY FAVORITE THING TO DO!! JUST BEING IN A TREE OR IN A BLIND SITTING BACK AND LISTENING AND WATCHING GOD'S BEAUTIFUL ART WORK ALL AROUND YOU IS A BLESSING AND I AM SO THANKFUL FOR BEING ABLE TO GET UP AND ENJOY IT!! REGARDLESS IF I AM BLESSED OR NOT, I'M STILL BLESSED.. THANKS FOR SHARING BROTHER, BE SAFE AND THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN!!
Great video as always. My dad left me his marlin 30 30 when he passed away 5 yrs ago. Haven't hunted with it much but did drop a doe in its tracks at 80 yds this past Saturday using the Remington 150gr core lokt.
I killed a buck 2 years ago with my 30-30 with 150 Rem core lokts . Ran maybe 30-40 yards and fell over. Much better ammo than what ol catman is shooting-hard to find right now.
@@austin_423 Man I believe it, I started out 35 years ago hunting from the ground, then gradually worked myself to climbers, ladder stands to shooting houses, after 5 years of MIA from the woods, I started back this year, and having to hunt from the ground. Definitely isn't easy.
if you will center punch that front shoulder you'll stop all that blood trailing. Congrats on a great ground blind set up. Lots of fun watching deer right in front of you.
It's great seeing the old 30-30's in these modern videos still getting the job done. I am not impressed with the performance of that Federal ammo tho. I guess with the ammo shortage you gotta shoot what you can get , or reload.
Awesome hunt Catman. I don't have an Instagram account setup not real familiar with Instagram anyway I sure would love to have one of those carts I would use it in my next video. Thanks for bringing me along brother look forward to more videos and from the Midlands of South Carolina we will be watching

Love it man. Thanks for taking us along. Another good one
I’m surprised how far she went after that well placed shot. Another great video, keep em coming!
Me too. With as much lung tissue blown out I would have figured 20 yards max.
Dang dude, that cart is badass. The best part was loading it in the truck. That leverage makes all the difference
one of my favorite video of yours. first watched 11 months ago. the up close and personal inter action with the deer is great footage.

love the videos. Wish my public land in VA had the numbers of deer ya'll do! It's downright tough filling the freezer here
tell me about it you will have a better chance winning the lottery than killing a deer in southsde VA.
Het Catman, I'm a huge fan of the 30-30 cartridge as well. I've been slaying game with my angle-eject Winchester for 29 years with no problems.
I see you're still making Deer famous one at a time.
Congratulations on your harvest !!!
Congratulations Catman!!! One day I’ll get my first deer. Don’t have Instagram, good luck to everyone that enters the contest!!!!
Great work catman! Congrates on your harvest!

Made you feel good didn't it. I love doing shit with my dad's old stuff, it''s a strong connection, never dying, between sons and dads.
@@billwhite7099 Yeah I think of my dad everytime I pick up his rifle.

Hey fella that was great close range action good job and really loved hearing Jim's music especially at the end of the video he was wailing out! 💥👊🥩🎵🎸
Impressed she made it that far with that close of and a good shot!
Great shot on the deer! Enjoy all your videos. It’s a real mind bower how many deer you have in that state. Wish I had that Oregon!
MERRY CHRISTMAS, Jonathan! Hope you have a fun holiday with friends, family, and good food! Best, Chris
I’m surprised she made it that far, good video Cat
Great video and thanks for the chance at the Gray Fox deer cart. That thing looks like it would do circles around most of the other brands.
The growth in your button buck restraint is admirable 🤣
I love your videos buddy! Nothing better than seeing a catman notification pop up! This video is just another example of how strong deer are!
Love the real hunting you show to us.
Great shot Catman.
At first I thought it was Kayce Dutton filming. Lol
Keep up the awesome content man.
Great video Catman, nothing like being up close like that.
Again, Love that truck man! Here's to many more Deers on ye ole Cummins!
Great share, great licks at the end Jim R
Made my day seeing you upload. Enjoy your day
Great video as usual! Like how easy the cart was to load in the back of the truck.
Man I love your videos. I strictly hinted public land for years in north Mississippi and the deer cart and stuff reminds me of that.
Another great video, much respect for the ground hunting you do.
I ground hunt all the time with a crossbow it gets pretty hard sometimes

Yep I’m 13 shot 2 bucks this year from the ground next to a tree.
@@austin_423 Wow!!! Congratulations!!! You need to be filming your hunts.
I just started
Good video buddy. That doe just didn't want to fall over, insane will to live.
Cool truck Catman! Great music from Jim
Congratulations
Congrats. I can't believe how far she ran!
Amazing grouñd hunting as usual, that was a great shot.,👍
Great video just goes to show how much will a deer has to survive
Another great video. Always excited to see when I get a Notification of catman. They can run farther with out blood then they can with out air.
They don’t bleed out as fast if the heart ain’t pumping!
Love watching Catman!
if you will center punch that front shoulder you'll stop all that blood trailing. Congrats on a great ground blind set up. Lots of fun watching deer right in front of you.
It ruins the shoulder roasts when you do though. Crease of the blade with a rifle, center of the “v” with an arrow.
@@vaneimagination842 We make hamburger or chili meat out of the front shoulders. Not enough meat loss to even think about. No tracking.
Great video showing what can happen using transitions lighting bedding wind sign this video shows it all in a simple way thanks
Good video on 🦌. Also making it through the woods with the cart. Keep videoing Catman outdoors
I've never used a deer cart before. Pretty neat. Nice hunt.
Always a great show- Thanks Cat!
I want to thank you for bringing me along on another great season.
One of the he best videos I've seen. Really good
Catman,
Congratulations on getting your doe.
Always enjoy your videos.
If you ever want to hunt Oklahoma let me know!
It's great seeing the old 30-30's in these modern videos still getting the job done. I am not impressed with the performance of that Federal ammo tho. I guess with the ammo shortage you gotta shoot what you can get , or reload.
Flow is looking good, Cat

Awesome hunt Catman. I don't have an Instagram account setup not real familiar with Instagram anyway I sure would love to have one of those carts I would use it in my next video. Thanks for bringing me along brother look forward to more videos and from the Midlands of South Carolina we will be watching
I like the peacefulness rather than having death metal overdubs.
Sweet hunt loved how close you were getting to them.
That cart is the cats ass.
Love to win, but I don't do Instagram
Same here. It feels like spit in the face
