5:16 what was this step for? Will this automatically set cache etc to the external SSD? Also, question, do you also store the project file on the SSD so that you could edit from any PC? I was doing this in Premier but I haven't found an easy consistent way for davinci yet.

That's correct! Any cache and render files, or proxy files will be stored externally as to not interfere with the local storage disk.
I personally keep the .drp (Davinci Resolve Project) file on my google drive, but you could just as easily store it on the external drive. Just make sure to save a new project file after each edit.
Let us know if you have further questions!

To the point thanks If you want to have more drives you just add to the media manager?

Yes, to add more drives for editing in DaVinci Resolve, you can use the Media Storage settings:
      Open DaVinci Resolve.
Go to Preferences (DaVinci Resolve > Preferences > Media Storage tab).
Add Your External Drives by clicking the + button and navigating to the desired drive.
This makes your external drives available for media in your projects.
Important note: make sure to link the intended drive to each individual project as you create them!

Why does it says off line when I disconnect my ssd

Hi Alan! It's because resolve does not automatically import footage to local drives like Final Cut. Meaning, if you disconnect the drive, you disconnect the footage. Are you intending to store the footage locally on your PC and not the external ssd?

@@indigosoftware9625 well yes I’m putting them on the ssd. So I should not? But when I insert the chip and I import them it still says off line when I try to get the other videos from my other chip. And thank u 🙏🏽 for replying

@@indigosoftware9625 no I’m trying to leave all my footage on the ssd only to save some space on my desktop and work off my ssd external hard drive.
