    Hello Michael I know you and your dad could get that thing down the road, sounds like it's got a bad throwout bearing, clutch, and pressure plate but that's to be expected I mean 40 years parked I'm surprised you were able to get it out of there without telling it but then again that's the way they built things back then. Another one rescued thank you so much. You guys stay safe stay well and as always God bless. PS they have started me on a different medication and things are working a little bit better for me I appreciate all the kind words of your family, thank you so much. Love y'all.

    Ran when parked . It's rare that anything runs this well after being parked so many years . I'd say someone put a rebuilt carburetor not too long ago either trying to start it or did actually get it running and doing nothing with it . Bottom line , they kept it in some kind of shape so it could be sold one day . The engine really dosen't sound any different than in line 6 fords I remember so I would have to say it is probably about as good as when it was parked . In line six cylinders of that vintage generally didn't have much bottom end torque unless it was higher in displacement . Runs better than was anticipated , aside from the charging problem . Looking forward to future videos on upcoming progress .

I love these kinds of videos, anyone can take it home on a trailer but to drive it home after 40 years is a feat within itself 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 I'm just going to send this shiny oil pan to ya and a couple other things that I can find laying around for the comet engine hotrod build or whatever u can use it for because it is very nice and I don't need it as I went with a deeper pan for the pinto 347 build a 7qt one and it is getting close to being ready to drop in

    Those old Ford and Chevy trucks were built tough. Of course, back then, they were built to "work" and they were reasonably priced. Not like the Country-Cadillac's you find on the highways today! Today, it seems everyone want the seating capacity, ride and all the options you would find on a Cadillac but they wanted it shaped sort of like a pickup truck.

    An incredible feat to bring this classic to life, after 40 years and make it walk on the road and go home without needing a trailer. In my opinion leave this original engine and recover this truck, in the caramel color from the bottom to the bottom and cream from the top. I follow from the south of Brazil.

    Just a few tidy-up issues and some deep respect for that workhorse 223. No need to tear it all up and put some stupid jazz-bo LS in it (You can get those in a truck already). I had a company truck just like that one and it lasted throughout all eternity. You might want to be on the lookout for spare column shift parts. An old school shell, like a Pullman or Sportsman Top would be just the ticket. Sure would be fine down at the boat dock in Forsyth on Lake Taneycomo.

  • @rantsfromtheroad2055
    @rantsfromtheroad2055 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    What a great find. That truck has so much potential, there's really no end to what you can do with it. I have a 1968 F100, it's my profile pic, and I have a 1965 Mercury M100 long box with a 300 6 cylinder. The inline 6 is an incredible engine with lots of after market support that no one on TH-cam seems to tap into. Everyone does Crown Vic swaps on these trucks, it would be nice to see something different. A 4 barrel on an aluminum intake and a set of headers all backed up by a 5 speed will turn your truck into a street rod. Disc brakes from a 1973-79 are a quick, easy and inexpensive upgrade and you probably should do the kingpins anyways. The brake boaster out of a 1990's Ford Ranger also fits easily. This could could be the ultimate Budget Build!
