I got the R5 7600X3d at MicroCenter back in November and it has been an amazing CPU at half the price of the 7800x3d and 9800x3d. Hoping to pair it with an AMD 9070 XT at some point haha
Hi, after installing this processor, did you install the drivers for the chipset? or do you use it without it, it's just that these drivers have 3d v cache performance optimizer and I don't know if it gives anything for this processor
@@igm1571 Do PBO > Curve optimizer -20 (Almost all 9800X3D can do this). The gaming power draw drops by another 10w, while you get about 1-2% performance over the stock. You don't need to touch any other setting, and its very beginner friendly so anyone can pretty much just set and forget about it.

Im so excited just got myself the R7 98003dx , and im coming from a i9 10900k, really good chip nothing wrong with it, but these amd is incredible, it performs amazing but what impress me more is those lower temps, from all other 3 amd cpus used in this video to compared its the higher with tdp on watts but compared to its neck to neck direct rival the "allmighty" i9 14000k its still impresive the low power it uses and still beats the i9 14k in performace.
Hey ! Excellent work, many thanks ! A lot of us still hold a 5600X which still handles things quite smoothly (4K only). Throw it in there aswell and you'll have our eternal gratitude
Would be cool to see the 7800x3d overclocked to 9800x3d speeds. My 7800x3d runs 5250mhz and around 65c while gaming. Would be cool to see if it matches a 9800x3d in terms of fps Bclk 104 is all it needs 👌 using a b650 tomahawk
Nope, the bottle neck at higher resolution will be the gpu, not the cpu. I have seen other tests where the 7800 and 9800 are virtually tied or 1-2 fps apart in some cases the 9800 x3d getting beat. In games like Stalker 2 or the new monster hunters won’t make a difference at 1440 p or higher. The difference is only seen at 1080p
I have been thinking about upgrading my 5800x3D but I play 1440p Ultra wide and the difference in FPS really isn't worth the £800 it would cost better putting that money into a better GPU
The GPU is responsible for handling higher resolutions. Because he’s using a 4070 ti-s, when he enters 1440 P, but especially 4K, the GPU becomes the bottleneck. This doesn’t mean that his tests are useless, because unless you are using a far superior GPU, you will expect the same behavior. If you do have a far superior GPU, the only metric you should be interested in from his testing is the 1080 P, cause that’s the one in which the GPU is the least limiting factor
In other words, if you were gaming at 1440 P or below, something around this level of card is all you will need paired up with a good CPU like the 7800 or the 9800. But if you sunk your cost into a 4K monitor or an ultra wide monitor with nearly 6,000,000 pixels, it’s going to cost you frames and you’re probably going to want a 4090 or higher

Yes, installing chipset/motherboard drivers is generally necessary for optimal performance and functionality of your computer. Enhanced Performance: Updated drivers can improve system stability, performance, and compatibility with new hardware and software. Bug Fixes: Manufacturers often release updates to address bugs or issues that may affect system performance or compatibility. Feature Support: Some new features or enhancements of the motherboard (like power management or specific connectivity options) may only be available with the latest drivers. Operating System Compatibility: When upgrading to a new operating system, installing the latest chipset drivers ensures that all components work correctly.
