Those boats are good too and they focus on other species, so you have your pick depending on what you want to fish for. I've been on all three and they're all good with a good crew on each boat!
@@michaeldipietro745 dress in layers, bring plenty of rigs, and catch a lot fish! Hope you a great time, they've been catching limits of seabass and mixed bags of porgies, ling, seabass, and cod! Hope you ended up having a great trip, let me know how you do. Tight lines!
I actually used size 2 octopus hooks, they're on the smaller size for this type of fishing but I wanted to make sure I had a good chance of catching plenty of porgies. They catch sea bass well too. You can use bigger hooks if you want to, just have to pay attention to size of porgies you'll be catching. If your catching porgies that are keeper size to 12 inches then you want to go with smaller hooks, if you catching porgies bigger than that then you catch on size 2/0- 4/0 in either octopus or baitholder j hooks
Thank you this was def a good day out. With the exception of the intro this was all filmed on a Go Pro Hero 2 on 1080p, If the video looks like poor quality check the settings for the video it might set at lower resolution by default, just change it to the higher resolution an you should see a considerable difference in quality. I think it's just something TH-cam does for faster play time. Thanks for watching and commenting!
We started with an Abu Garcia Ambassadeur 5000 with 30 lb. braid, it's a good inshore size reel, but I then realized that we needed heavier tackle so we then used a Tica Seaspirit SP458 and a Tsunami TSSD 400L both spooled with 40 lb braid, which I have used in the past for deep offshore bottom fishing. Thanks for the comment!
This was the Paramount out of Brielle, nj. It's a good party boat, usually do well on it, just went out on this two days ago and limited out on seabass. Check out there reports on facebook.
@@smooveb191 this boat leaves out every day @ 6:30 am - 3:30 pm, with some special trips that go until 5 pm. They have a full schedule on their website.
That's a interesting idea, might have to try that next time, sounds similar to catching a Bergal and using it in small chunks for Ling! Thank you for that!
Regulations vary from state to state, this was filmed in NJ where the minimum size is 12 1/2 inches and the limit is 10 for the day, although we did get several in 15 inch mark!
What does seega seega mean
In Spanish it means "Go, Go, Go!" I was encouraging my friend to keep going!
Love that boat. But all last season I was on big Jamaica and Jamaica 2

How deep is the water?
We were fishing in wrecks and reefs 90-120 ft deep.
@@NEFishing thanks heading out on the Jamaica in a few weeks.

This is my favorite Boat and Big Jim is the Best Mate !
Never been disappointed on this boat! Always delivers!
How can I contact you
Is the weight at the bottom of the rig? @21:56 looks like when you pull up 2 fish that the weight is in the middle of the 2 hooks.
What size hooks and bank sinker on those double drop rigs for Sea Bass and Porgy's?

Nice action. What bait are you using to catch the porgies?
Salted clams provided by the boat, they were cut into 1/2 inch small strips.
What’s the name of the party boat?
I usually go to Atlantic star in Atlantic Higland nj...

@@smooveb191 good luck, they are catching a mix of seabass and big porgies lately. Some cod have been caught as well. Tight lines!
The best bait for seabass is porgies themselves you get the 9 inchers then you year there ass up into small chunks

Nice catch but better fishing on the weekdays because weekend too many rookies will tangle your line.
I agree, always have a better time on a weekday trip. Less crowded and less hassles!
I seen some of them Seabass they was undersize dude they was not 15in or more... Smh

13 inches for NJ
what did you for bait? looks like chicken skin 😂
The bait was salted clams, its standard bait on party boats for bottom fishing.
N-E Fishing ahh i usually use sandworms or squid
@@aregularchannel6170 I use sand worms from beach or drifting for stripers or weak fish! Squid is great bait and works well on these types of trips!
What's the hook size for porgy?
