@@LiteWeightGaming He was having a nightmare about the night he lost his daughter Sarah. The whole prologue was basically the nightmare followed by him waking up in the present. I personally think that it was a great way to start the game, it's getting you invested in the game from the start. I'm guessing that probably is a nightmare he has pretty regularly.

@David Roberts The game was released in 2013 which was when the prologue takes place, However the main game takes place in 2033 twenty years after the prologue. The game starts with Joel having a nightmare about when the Virus first took hold and his daughter was killed. The part where his daughter dies is what causes him to wake up from the nightmare with a start like he did. Basically, he wakes up from the nightmare and it is now the games "present" twenty years later than when the events of the nightmare took place. I seem to be following the narrative quite fine thank you.
I'm always jealous of people who get to experience it for the first time. God I wish I could experience this for the first time again. Fucking masterpiece of a game.

I can see the pain in your eyes when Sarah died. I'm a hard core gamer and have been for quiet a few years. And I will admit I don't get choked up about a video game but that scene was just crushing. I'm glad I'm not the only one who felt it.
i really appreciate how thorough you are in every environment you walk in. in every other gameplay i watched people just storm through places and miss a lot of important stuff

The most intense and heartbreaking intro in gaming history right there. I played this one like 3 years ago and went in completely blind, only knowing it's about a guy and a little girl killin zombies. So during that intro I thought sarah and her dad were the characters I was about to play as for the rest of the game. Her dying was a major shock. I liked how just moments after you say Tess is kind of a badass, she goes on to point blank shoot a guy in the face without hesitation lol. Definitely a badass. Based on that Spider-Man update pop up, we can assume Spider-Man is next?
It was definitely an emotional start to the game!! And I will be playing Spider-Man eventually, but that pop up was because I share the PS4 with the hubby and he has been playing it! 🤣 Hope I didn’t get your hopes up!! But I promise it will be on the channel eventually!!
i remember that they said the intro to uc4 will be more emotional than the intro to tlou. then i played the uc4 intro and was like "are you f'n kidding me? not even close."
@@Jack_80 Felt kind of sad for Drake during the orphanage bit but it definitely had nothing on tlou. Never knew they thought that was a more emotional intro. They definitely failed lol

This is hands down the best game I have ever played and that intro brings a tear to my eye no matter how many times I see it.

Man, that intro. I've played TLoU 8 times on PS3 and 4 times on PC. I've watched a dozen or more play throughs of it. It still makes me cry. I can't remember any other game, or movie, that kept me crying over the same scene. Such a wonderful game this is.
TH-cam recommended this play through to me, probably because I watch every Last of Us play through I can find. I hope you will love this game as much as so many others do.

The thing is, there’s some optional dialogue earlier on, before the checkpoint, that shows that Joel is also pretty powerful so it’s always kind of surprised me that people who knew Tess didn’t know Joel. He’s framed as almost sort of a friendly-enough boogeyman

Zombies in this game are based on real life parasitic fungi called Cordycept. It kills its host(thankfully only insect) and turn them into zombies.
Also, some people are eating the infected worms as a "medicine" so, real life Last of Us should be around the corner lol.

Actually if the parasitic fungi evolves it might cause something like this.

Long time ago but hint to anyone, use a brick as melee weapon, don't throw it, just equip it in hand during fist fights with infected, it hits 3 times where a bottle breaks after one and does less damage.

Judged as a stealth game it's pretty average but the story, acting, production values and tone are top notch.
@@Etrius0023 tbh the story is what makes it. Gameplay is fairly average, good in some aspects. By the looks of it, TLOU 2 will give us the best of both worlds

It’s funny I put off playing this for years because I wasn’t into horror games. However after hearing so many good things I decided to give it a go. Best decision I ever made, I couldn’t stop playing. Naughty Dog did an amazing job.

Figured I'd start watching this since I just found out you played this. Old, I know, but new content for me! Love how you can tell when somebody plays a lot of games whenever they pause as soon as they get a chance so they can set the controls to their liking.
When I first played, it was really heartbreaking to see sarah’s death, good lord I was not expecting that since at the time, I thought she was one of the protagonists. This game will probably be the 2nd game that’ll make me really sad, with the 1st being rdr2
Of you liked splinter cell growing up.. then this game is definitely for you..which is a good thing for me cause I liked splinter cell double agent. Good game.

I once played this game from 6pm Saturday night to 9am Sunday morning without a break. By the morning I had to stop because I was starting to hallucinate lol

Alright so, first time watching your video and i went to the commment section and the first thing i noticed is that you're the first youtuber that i see to reply the comments after 2 to 3 months the video has been posted.
I think that's pretty awesome.

Can i make a suggestion?? I think your camera screen is a bit too big. Just make sure that only your body fits in the camera. You can use green screen behind you. Or you can cut extra area that camera is covering. Because subtitles gets covered most of the time. Anyway, never mind. 😬😬

I cannot even image the pain a parent must go through when they lose a child 😞.
I've played thru this game at least a dozen times on all levels except easy, my favourite game😁. Couple of tips: you do have to scavenge around for supplies, so make sure you check around you. You dont have to pick up all the collectibles, but some things you will need to upgrade Joel and skills. Some things just give you more backstory. Enjoy, this is a great story and a great game!!

Just a random tip and you may have already fixed this, but you can take your audio file (separate it from your video file) then use any audio editing program to reduce background noise. What i do is if i started a video i would hold my breath for 10 seconds to record only the background noise, then use that to filter it out. That background hum is distracting and could be removed once you figure out how to filter out noise.
I think that has gotten better as my channel has improved, but I’ll keep that in mind for future videos. Thanks for the advice!

So it's great lol. But what I'm really looking forward to is the rest of your rdr2 playthrough, it's gonna be epic 😁

My only suggestion is to probably reduce your webcam screen size a tab bit so you can see more screen and the subtitles, or move it to the top right corner. That’s my only suggestion. You will love the story in this game.

You get a thumbs up from me just because you took the time and watched the part near the beginning 24:14 where the 4 are kneeling and the military killed two of them. Most people don't bother and it shows you are paying attention.

How many people played this game and made it through the intro so flawlessly? I am an experienced gamer and the controls and pathing caused me to get jammed up a couple of times. Whoever was controlling Joel in the intro has definitely played this before. I call shenanigans.

Its good to see you playing this. This game had me hooked for a while when it first came out. I thought the idea of cordyceps infecting humans and turning them into crazed maniacs was interesting. In the insect world cordyceps is a fungus that infects ants and other insects and can wipe out an entire colony. th-cam.com/video/XuKjBIBBAL8/w-d-xo.html The thought of this spreading to humans is absolutely terrifying! Anyway, this story is a bit slow starting out but as you continue through it it gets really good! I'm sure you're gonna like it!

@@LiteWeightGaming Well they once thought that "pink eye" was limited to cattle and would never effect humans. After seeing that video I hope they are right about cordyceps being limited to the insect world. Apparently there are health benefits from it when its used on humans and so far nothing has happened, but... what a nightmare it would be.
