Great video but there is at least one error. Don't know what game it was but the one listed as Helicopter Rescue on Odyssey 2 is wrong , it's some other game
Quick comment on Apache 3 - That game was an INCREDIBLE looking arcade machine, witth extremely fast scaler graphics and a hell of a lot of stuff being thrown around the screen. Unfortunately MAME has never been able to get it working properly so the ground is invisible and the horizon keeps flying up and down, making it look like reality is collapsing at the sight of your mighty helicopter. If you want to see how it really looks, I found a few auctions listings for the arcade cab that have some filmed footage. Technically interesting is that the arcade machine has three CPUS - a V30 (8086 clone), a 68000 and a Z80. Talk about having your 80s hardware cake and eating it!
0:30 Choplifter was originally published by Broderbund in 1982 for the Apple II, Commodore 64, IBM and other personal computers. However, the Sega arcade version, as depicted in the video, was not released until 1985.
The Strike series was just too much fun Desert,Jungle,Urban those 3 are gems I know there was Soviet and nuclear strike but wasn’t too into those.I wish all were packaged together and released to buy on Xbox or PS
I feel like Desert Combat should get a mention here. Sure it's a mod but the Battlefield devs didn't even think it was possible to do helicopters on the engine until the modders did it and it lead the way to Battlefield Vietnam.
Since you included games like Battlefield, I think you honestly could have included GTA 5 (the helicopters actually are pretty good in that game, the worst I've ever seen is Far Cry 5/6, they even fly stable upside down)
you can assume that this list was packed by an ai. every normal human who is a decent helicopter games fan wouldnt have put gunship 2000 in the year 2000.
I hope New Thunder Blade comes out with New After Burner. It's already been 10 years since the release of Thunder Wolves, the Great Arcade Helicopter Shooter.
I don't know if it's sold outside of Japan, but the reason I became interested in helicopter video games was the arcade game Air Inferno released by Taito.
I appreciate the effort. Mainly 2 points: 1. Pure shoot em up with helicopter shaped player, I would have left out from the list 2. There are some notable mistakes along the line. Other than that, nice video!
i was here looking for something like heliborne, but after that was made they just kinda stopped making helicopter games didnt they? they only seem to have them in triple aaa titles as kind of side shows now...
Somebody could help me? I'm looking for a game which is similar to Chopper Command - Atari 2600, but had a little bit better graphic, and you needed to go thorugh platforms there.
does someone know a Helicopter game where we play as a air force team consist of 4-5 heli and 2 jets, and we control the team leader. Where the control is using the arrow key, and if you pres the arrow key once, the heli move slowly, and if you press it 3 times it will move faster. The goal is to destroy enemy forces. there are tanks, infantry, etc. The end result menu shows a line of tanks that we destroyed, and in the menu they explode. i can't find the name for the life of me and it's killing me.
you lost two wideo games in this is list tronsfomecz 01 the wideo game on ps03 or pc 03 wersionz in yeor 2007 not only 2022 not only tronsfomecz 02 rewong of the follen the wideo game on ps03 or pc in yeor 2008.
Cold waters ?????? where in the world is that an heli sim ????????????????????????????? AND WHERE IS DCS : APACHE, HUEY, MI8, KA50, best comba sim ever.
Dud you throw a bunch of garbage together and call it a video COBRA COMMAND DIDNT COME OUT ON NINTENDO IN 84 IT WAS 88 THE NINtendo didn't even come out till the end of 86
1982 to 1985/86 was a huge step up in graphics, as much as we might laugh at it now. Cheers for the memories!
The evolution of helicopter video games since 1979. If any games are missing from this list, feel free to list them in comments.
Blackhawk Striker 2
Game series: GTA, Mercenaries, Arma, War Thunder, Just Сause...
It's even surprising that you didn't remember them.
Great video but there is at least one error.
Don't know what game it was but the one listed as Helicopter Rescue on Odyssey 2 is wrong , it's some other game
O and one missing from the list: the arcade laserdisc version of Cobra Command! Would have been 84 or 85 ish.
@@marcusclarkson2657 It's a different version of Helicopter Rescue, released for the Philips Videopac+ G7400 in 1983.
Airstrike ll is my favourite childhood 2005 I remember playing my Windows pc😢

I remember those Comanche games. They was just awesome in early 90x.
This video is great. It shows many games that I didn't know about. Thank you very much.

Thanks for precisions
GET TO THE CHOPPA!
Danke für diese tollen Bilder, bekamm man das game, hat man es gezogt, super
Thunder Blade was stunning at the time. Sega had a special cabinet that spun. Very short game though.
0:30 THIS Choplifter Version is not from 1982.
18:34 And Gunship 2000 is NOT from the year 2000 lol
27:00 and Cold Waters is not a helicopter game!
@@pawepiatek9712 LOL, you are right. This list is complete bollocks...
Cobra Command was arcade 1984 the NES port was years later and did not look that good.
The Strike series was just too much fun Desert,Jungle,Urban those 3 are gems I know there was Soviet and nuclear strike but wasn’t too into those.I wish all were packaged together and released to buy on Xbox or PS
Jungle Strike was the best one imo.
Thanks for upload this libraly
Ahh Cyclone, what a game! a great follow up to Tornado Low Level.
I feel like Desert Combat should get a mention here. Sure it's a mod but the Battlefield devs didn't even think it was possible to do helicopters on the engine until the modders did it and it lead the way to Battlefield Vietnam.

I forgot about RC Stunt Copter on playstation. Devilishly hard
Wow infilitrator forgot about that game, one to add to launchbox collection thanks :)
I had no idea that Raid On Bungeling Bay was released on Arcades.
Apache 3 seemed bugged, as if the ground was missing. In theory it could've been over water, but trees rarely grow on water...
I can´t take this list seriously without Extreme Assault.
Right. That was what I was looking for. I still remember the blue force-field protected bases you had to destroy
I do consider from GTA3-5 as helicopter game aswell
you missed alot of games here
you can assume that this list was packed by an ai. every normal human who is a decent helicopter games fan wouldnt have put gunship 2000 in the year 2000.

Other than that, nice video!
Gunship 2000 was released in 1991, not in 2000 !
Came here to say this.
Great Video, nice memories!
What about Amigas "Thunderblade"? Losely based on the movie "Blue Thunder"....loved it!!!
Of course, Airwolf (soundtrack theme). 😁
For a helicopter that was a massive failure and scrapped after only two were built, the comanche got a shitload of video games 😅
The comanche was a great project. Too much, since it was way too expensive
Falto este Extreme Assault un juegazo con muy bueons graficos para la epoca
No KA 52 Team Alligator?????
Cobra Command was actually 1988. Still appreciate the list though!
Extreme assault, Viper, Jet Strike.
Where are the DCS Apache, Hind, Hip and Gazelle?
AIRSTRIKE 2 GULF THUNDER 🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟💕💕💕💕💕
Aw where was Chopper Commando? Mark Currie's
Army Men Air Attack???
What is this..
Gunship 2000 came out in 1991, not 2000..
+ Extreme Assault and Helicops.
Cobra Command (1988 video game)
Gunship 2000 released in 2000? 🤣 I guess the millennium bug degraded computer graphics.
kind of miss C&C renegade, battalion wars, thunder wolves and renegadeX but i gess not every game could be included...
i was here looking for something like heliborne, but after that was made they just kinda stopped making helicopter games didnt they? they only seem to have them in triple aaa titles as kind of side shows now...
elso tronsfomecz ormuda preludo too enurgoc the wideo game on ps02 in yeor 2004.
Army Men: Air Attack is missing.
I don"t see the game "Extreme Assault" by Blue Byte, 1997 year
Странно что человек не знает о серии Джунгле , Урбан и Десерт страйк на Сеге
There is a helicopter in The Crew2.
Third! Didn't make it in time quite a bit. Sadly. :(
Army men sarge hero’s had a helicopter game on the ps1
No Extreme Assault ??? Are You serious ?
Переведете: Gunship 2000 вышло не в 2000 ом году, 1991-1992
