My first trip I happened to win the tickets from the local newspaper, the Denver Post, who sponsored the event. Once I went on the trip, I was hooked. I went on it for fifteen years until the paper shut down and they cancelled the event. Oh, what wild and fun times those were. We had everything happen from break downs to weather delays, and on my early trips, there was no limits on the alcohol. Later, they did have limits. That happened after the train broke down and no sober people made it back, except me. I don't drink. I would later sell my drink tickets, but that is another story.
