John Doan Since no one else is debating against this I guess I’ll take that position; I like how Boruto is in at least a character development sort of way. I’m glad that they’re not remaking naruto at least, right? We get to see how Boruto progresses as a genius Shinobi, what problems will he face, how does he confront Kawaki, what’s the dojutsu he has, etc. I think they have great potential to turn the series into something pretty cool. So far I will agree it’s quite fodder but I know it’ll turn around in a good way.

To be fair that was Studio Pierrot's filler ( I know is based on a novel but still ). Chapter 700 of the manga does show Naruto as a Hokage and stuff.
You forgot that if tsunade died, then it would make A TON more sense to have Kakashi become the next Hokage. I never understood why he became the sixth when tsunade had been doing a good job

I think these are her reasons and they do kind of make sense
- She is super old not in terms of number of birthdays but they said that the 100 healings when healing wounds, ages the wielder’s body until it is healed so when you get *CUT IN HALF* you probably age several years maybe decades from that experience alone
- She maybe thought that she was not necessarily needed... Sakura can heal better than her and from her being the Hokage in terms of decisions and strategical thinking, Shikamaru has like 200 IQ. When you got her best traits replaced it will probably be better to have one of the strongest ninja that can lead and make good decisions meaning that Kakashi is a logical step in the right direction

4. Wore "dark clothing"
5. Worked for royals
I was really enjoying the manga until Kaguya showed up and ruined everything. Madara was just the perfect final villain.

1st war: cycle of hatred
2nd war: economic disparity and territory expansion
3rd war: decline in power of the Five Great Nations
4th war: Some guy didnt get to dick down his crush
5th war: some kid(boruto)didn't get the attention they desperately thought they deserved, then an alien came and gave him great power but the villagers soon feared this power in this kid(boruto)and stayed far away from him, this made the kid(boruto)very sad and so another kid(kawaki)an orphan took all the love, attention, friends, family from that kid(bourto)now the village is destroyed because lack of it.

Yeah I’ve heard that it gets better, but the plot of naruto had so many places to go when naruto had some weaknesses and had a lot to learn. Boruto starts off with the world having already been mostly fixed by a naruto (who no longer has a personality anymore) that is so powerful, the fact that any of these enemies are able to damage him at all is absurd. I mean, I understand the momoshiki fight, but all the other enemies should have had no chance

It's just a completly different story for a completly different audience. It has good things and bad things. But a lot of things that attracted naruto fans to naruto aren't there.

I think Kakashi's MS was fair. We saw Sasuke awaken his Sharingan right after the massacre, but he couldn't use it until the Zabuza arc. I think the same thing could apply to Kakashi.
I agree, it was pretty clear that it needs to be activated by something incredibly tragic happening. but he probably didn't even know it was something he could have done until facing Itachi then looked into it and learned how to activate it
May I point out *two mistakes in the video;* first, *Kakashi uses his Mangekio Sharinghan early in the series* and explains at that time that his limit is two attacks and that it takes a long build up (i.e he didn't use it for the first time after 17 years since he was explaining a whole set of SOPs the first time we saw it in the first 30 episodes)
Secondly, "Obito choosing not to use his Rinnegan powers because of chakra limits while he was controlling six Jinchuriki at the same time". Controlling six Jinchuriki is one of the powers of the Rinnegan. In fact it is the most showcased power since it's the basis of the six paths of Pain. But to be fair, none of the Jinchuriki use the specific jutsu of the six paths of Pain, instead the use their own. Also, Obito summoning the Gedu Mazo is a power of the Rinnegan.

And how did Kakashi's Sharingan evolved to a Mangekyo? The Sharingan evolves due to a special chakra that the brain of AN UCHIHA produces after he suffers a great lost, Kakashi isn't an Uchiha so his brain doesn't produce that special chakra required for the evolution, Is it a plot hole?

I disagree with your point of Madara being redeemed in the end because it didn't happen. He was split in half and dying right after he found out he got out-played with by an alien throughout his whole life. His whole plan came crashing down, he found out that it wasn't even his plan to begin with. Hashirama stayed with him in his final moments not as an enemy but as a good friend and war buddy. Both of them were best friends as children and even as adults, they were close buds. No one forgave him. The Shinobi Alliance did not suddenly see the good within Madara. They didn't realise he had the intention of peace. He still was their villain. Anyone else would have taken that moment to add in one final strike to officially kill the weakened Madara, but not Hashirama. To Hashirama he saw his old best friend and rival in his last moments.
It's kind of like how Naruto never truly forgave Nagato for destroying the Leaf and killing Jiraiya. He just understood Nagato's perspective.
it still wasnt really presented that way; its one thing to visually depict a ton of turmoil, and another to have him drawn lying on the floor talking to his oldest friend in his last moments

.... and decided to break the cycle of vengeance to bring an end to violence, which reminded Nagato of the reason he became a Shinobi in the first place as a war orphan and the reason he started the Akatsuki; to protect the innocent and to end wars. Nagato then revived Konoha's dead and chose to trust his dream to Naruto same as Jirayah did.
They really should’ve just ended the series with Naruto giving sasuke his headband back

@marvinxi15 nah, that love was very one-sided throughout most of the series. there was this movie with the byakugan on steroids moon guy, and in that movie naruto first realizes that hinata actually loves him. their relationship is extremly stupid tho with everything evolving around a scarf. and its really wierd that naruto didnt use his sage of six paths shit vs moon guy.

Kishi even admitted by the beginning of the war that Hinata should’ve been the main heroine to the story, not Sakura
He also admitted in an interview he didn’t follow up on Hinata’s confession to Naruto when she saved him from Pain because he had no idea how Naruto would react and it was “good” the story focused more on Sasuke now, a distraction from Hinata

i really hate sakura and this isn’t really my favourite ship but let me not lie i thought her and naruto were gonna get together in the end. Kishi is seriously bad at writing ships but in those little moments he had ships in mind and implemented some bits into the show, it actually looked like he was going to put them together, given the multiple hints given throughout shippuden. I think kishi ended up putting naruto and hinata together last minute because of her byakugan in favour of naruto’s own powers and the fact that this duo would make a more powerful child than him and sakura. This child (boruto) having a child with Sasuke’s and Sakura’s child (sadara) would create an incredible vessel, So i guess the planning of ships here was with no feelings involved and more of just making the next generation powerful. However, i really do not think the canon ships are good at all. I don’t even have to say anything about how bad sasusaku is, and naruhina is so one sided and rushed and if i get into it we will be here for ages. Narusaku is the best ship for a sequel generation anime to be created and for the feelings to still make sense, Sasunaru is best for just their feelings and if there was no sequel generation anime planned as it’s boyxboy (I BET if sasuke was a girl there wouldn’t even be any arguments as of to who goes with naruto lmfao) and the other two ships are just trash. My opinion :)

Naruto and Minato just becoming buddies with Kurama didn’t make sense to me either. He literally killed your parents, that’s the last thing he did before getting sealed. Minato even talked coldly to ninetails during pain arc, and ninetails hated 4th hokage then too. But war arc arrives and minato is already friend with his kurama half, and kurama is conplimenting minato. Like what?
Not to mention when kurama [redacted] naruto has this heartfelt moment flashback in the anime, and I find that massively hilarious how all the moments only come from the war arc, since every other moment is kurama being evil, killing his parents, hurting his friends, taking over his body, etc

I actually think Sakura should ve nearly killed sasuke at some point lol. Obviously this would require her getting more skills from the get go but it would be great to see that as the final nail in the coffin for them. Them ending up together eventually was the dumbest thing ever

The fight should have been Sasuke VS Kabuto. They were basically roommates, living side by side, observing each other, studying and fighting under Orochimaru... Then Sasuke "betrayed" them and killed Orochimaru, taking everything from Kabuto and setting him on the path to Dragonhood... Dragon-Kabuto was indirectly created by Sasuke. He is Sasuke's karma. Sasuke should confront Kabuto and himself. An awesome fight with a lot of flashbacks (something we didn't get)...
I would've liked to see the infinite tsukuyomi have lasting mental effects on people, drive some insane to where they lost their ability to differentiate reality from dreams, and maybe even create villains out of people when it showed them what their "perfect world" was, and it was some dark, villainous shit for some people, showing their deep dark desires and how to achieve them. Or even making some people go nuts and evil. Anything really. It was such a massive event to not have side effects in the long run on the human psyche

Well if it was like with Akira Toriyama and Dragon ball, where he had the entire story thought up until a certain point but then others forced him into making another 2 arcs after that and he was really pissed off and couldn't find any logical followup to that than it makes sense :)... i mean look at how long Naruto went on... you could shave off a healthy 200-250 chapters without losing much of story developement

In the manga there's an episode at the end where they're all adults and Boruto is alive. Well I think the way it should end end, is in the moment when naruto gave Sasuke his former headband. That way, there's more freedom and people can make their own stories. Plus it's a great moment to end the manga because it's actually what naruto is about. Its not about boruto, marriages and romances.

That's such a fucking lame ending for such a great and long anime. However, I wouldn't mind the final panel being the hokage stone faces, with Naruto as the 7th, but I still think it would be more impactful to have naruto giving sasuke his old headband (symbolic) as the last panel. I'm pretty sure I would be able to write a way better ending than kishimoto, but these are just my thoughts.

Although I love to have all these characters around, I kinda wish that there were more deaths in the final arc. Guy would have gone out as an absolute badass. Swag mentioned Killer Bee and Kurama. I think it would have made the ending more impactful if there were concrete sacrifices made to stop madara.

Naruto's number one problem is that they are always talking about the villagers and the world.... but we never see any of them besides that one time after the pain fight and the Raman noodle guy. I believe it's because being the Hokage is more than power. It's about experience, and a shit ton of knowledge. Naruto never quite cared about paper work and such things, he was still a kid after all. An Hokage needs to be mature as an adult as well, and needs to handle literally living at their desks. They have to be able to take extreme caution and make extremely important decisions on a daily.

I believe a lot of this whole war arc/late war arc/whatever you want to call it, was designed to give a platform for the establishment of a Boruto spinoff. Kishimoto didn't want to still write Naruto, but he wanted to create an easy outline for a new series with the Otsusuki as the main enemy. If Naruto were to just end everything, which does kind of make sense if there are no Otsusuki, Madara, Obito and the 10 tails would have been the final bosses of the series, and things would have been a lot more cohesive at the end of the series. I think Kishimoto was hesitant on killing off too many allied forces, like Sakura, because he intended to have an Uchiha be in the new team 7. That's probably the same reason Orochimaru came back, but Mitsuki could have been a later thought. Either way a lot of the nonsense that happens could be explained as happening due to a repercussion Kishimoto using the war arc as a platform to set up Boruto as opposed to making the best possible conclusion to Naruto.
But if you're asking me, there should have been a second time skip after the Pain Arc, because the Akatskui would have been crippled by this point. Also would have given the coolest version of Naruto some more time to marinate.

imo orochimaru should replace kabuto as the war arc antagonist, kabuto is a boring and uninteresting character while orochimaru was such a threat in naruto, it's so sad that he was turned into a joke in shippuden and boruto. Make him find a way to bring back orochimaru or even sacrifice himself when sasuke tries to kill him so that orochimaru doesn't even die at that moment, orochimaru was a way more charismatic and smart villain than kabuto will ever be, and he was set up as this "great threat" in naruto and it was never resolved

If the ten tails is crazy overpowered yet incredibly unstable, a way to fight him should be to disturb the five senses of whoever has it, I think this would help a lot on showing a weakness to sage mode where even though you're one with nature and have beyond human sensory capabilities if you're overloaded with info you'll have too much to process, I also think sealing justus should be given more attention not in that you just seal the person and that's that but you use the same techniques of sealing but in reverse to disturb the flow of someone's body or smth, this will make it apparent that you need someone like minato who can seal people instantly with his speed, and the idea that you're unstable and have to keep your senses in check will give the shinobi forces actual meaning in the fight cuz of how they could do anything to destabilise the ten tails. then maybe the magnet release rasengan would be more useful to ruin madara's control(I'd rather just have gaara help him create a magnet rasengan tbh), then instead of powering up the chidori with some weirdo new magic it's the loud and obnoxious sound of the chidori that makes it powerful against madara(I also don't think doing smth like covering your eyes or ears will do any good because you literally have nature energy itself in your possession you should be one with the environment for good or worse)

The problem with world building Anime is that you need to know the fine line between "too much" and "too little". I feel like Kishimoto wanted to solidify Naruto as the strongest by pitting him against the literal God of chakra. He wanted to flex his character lol, but I know where you're coming from. Naruto probably shouldn't build up its world all the way back to the cavemen period and let the problems then be relevant now, that's insane. They shouldn've just made an OVA of those times, being resolved in the respective period. Even saying all of this, I strangely still enjoyed the ending for some reason, lol.

Overall, I like the story rewrites you mention, although. The route I'd prefer to go is instead of bringing in Kaguya, but have it set up so Madara acts as the final villain for it, the Sasuke vs Naruto fight like as you said with Sasuke challenging Naruto with the belief he's not worthy to be hokage, and then given every thing so far, have the next arc tackle answering the existence of it, and have another build up, take parts from Boruto and weave it into the story at that point, instead of 13 years later they're still finding links to the Otsutsuki. I've been keeping up with Boruto and I think it would be more interesting if that's how the Karma thing comes into play.

also, I would have loved to have seen Jonin Naruto looking after three genin trying to live up to Jiriahs standard. As well as passing on the teachings of peace and ninshu. You could have even used those three brats Iruka was dealing with at the end of the series.

I really wish naruto's last episode was the day naruto became hokage but instead they showed naruhina's wedding which I don't really have a problem with but it just isn't a good ending to a shounen anime. We want an episode of naruto finally achieving his dream something he had wanted from episode one. Then the gripe about the use and prerequisite to utilize the "Izanagi" and "Izanami" is misunderstood. Though, can be rightly criticized.
Izanagi was introduced as a reality altering at the expense of losing one of your Sharingan. It can be naturally used by any Uchiha member but can be enhanced by Hashirama's cells. The drawback of losing one's light can be bypassed by having spare Sharingan like Obito, Danzo, and Orochimaru had.
Izanami was, mainly, created to negate and match the effects of Izanagi. There was no need for Hashirama cells but it also did come out of nowhere, contextually speaking. Though, it was logical to add an ability by the name of Izanami due to the existing naming scheme. Amaterasu, Susano, Tsukuyomi, Kamui, etc.
Imagine 100 years later after Shikamaru put Hidan in the deep hole, there are works being made in the forest and while the people are working and digging a hole to build houses and buildings in the forest, they find Hidan with his eyes closed (He's acting like he's dead) and call the police.
They make investigations and Hidan with a kunai on the mouth kill a police officer then take his body then when he finds out that everyone that he knew from the past died and he will try to revive the akatsuki and that's how he will be the new Obito/Madara.
While that seems like a very cool idea, it kinda doesn't make sense that Hidan was the one who tried to revive Akatsuki because let's be real he wouldn't care that the other members is dead, the only Akatsuki member that i could see doing that is probably.. Kisame? Saying Hidan would try to revive Akatsuki is the same as saying Kakuzu would try to revive the Akatsuki, Kakuzu only cares about money while Hidan only cares about Lord Jashin.
Damn that would be sick if Tsunade actually used Kisho Tensei on Naruto for this scenario. That would mean The Sannin would all be dead and they would successfully pass the torch down to their Team 7 counterparts. This would also force Kakashi to become the Sixth Hokage much earlier on and he would have to be more of a leader during the rest of the war. Kishimoto should've stepped down and given the entire series to the hands of Professor Swaginess himself. This would've been much better.
But I thought that Chio was the last successor of that jutsu and she never taught it to anyone else, if it goes through Swags version chio would already be gone for good therefore naruto is dead forever unless the Rinne Rebirth is used

@@onebigfluke8924 Yeah, Mitsuki really has good build for an character because he isn't fucking human and i like how he wants to learn if he has his own will or not, because that makes him enter psychological crisis. I like him overall, as a character.

*May I point out two mistakes in the video;* first, Kakashi uses his Mangekio Sharinghan early in the series and explains at that time that his limit is two attacks and that it takes a long build up (i.e he didn't use it for the first time after 17 years since he was explaining a whole set of SOPs the first time we saw it in the first 30 episodes)
Secondly, "Obito choosing not to use his Rinnegan powers because of chakra limits while he was controlling six Jinchuriki at the same time". Controlling six Jinchuriki is one of the powers of the Rinnegan. In fact it is the most showcased power since it's the basis of the six paths of Pain. But to be fair, none of the Jinchuriki use the specific jutsu of the six paths of Pain, instead the use their own. Also, Obito summoning the Gedu Mazo is a power of the Rinnegan.
