Great rendition and great explanation. (I had played this song slightly wrong for years! I didn't play the kick and the snare together on this one. On reggae songs I would do the one drop properly, but on ska I usually played the kick alone and a snare hit alone.) Mike, your videos are great learning tools, and you play a wide range of great songs. Invaluable.
😂😂 I actually cannot believe how difficult I found trying to learn this 🤣🤣 -Just goes to show how much stuff I have played that I am instinctively comfortable with, but this is great, I love it when my brain says no and I then have to spend hours negotiating with it to see sense 😂, another great tutorial thanks 👏🎵🎶👍
Hey, I just found this video recently and I love it. I've subscribed. I've been trying to figure out this beat. I'm not a drummer, but I'm trying to teach myself midi playing and usung a DAW. I want to do a remake using VSTs. I wanted to start out with the drum beat, but it's eluding me. I've got something figured out based on your notation at 5:44. I hope it's right. At this time, maybe I'll just move on assuming it is and just move on to the accordian sound at the beginning and trumpets. Production-wise, there isn't a lot of instruments on this. And things aren't layered super thick. I thought of anything, this should be an easier step to put together. Anyway, great video!
