Just goes to show how tough those old Connie's really were. Can last a millennium (give or take). Could fly back and forward in time on a whim, had a crazy amount of firepower, and could get to both the Galactic barrier and centre in next to no time. Best ship in the fleets history.
Were they scanning for life signs? I thought they were scanning for the quantum signature's that would show what was from our universe versus the mirror universe. So that third signature would be the artifact/vial.
The single dumbest line in this episode was Stammets saying "is that the iss enterprise?" when you could barely see the ship yet because of the wormhole, let alone the registry
I liked the episode. The relationship of Mol and L'ak feels real and believable and I am glad that Discovery didn't make a mockery of the Breen reveal.
Daddy issues are a part of Star Trek: Worf and Alexander, Riker and his dad, Picard and his dad, David and Captain Kirk, Paris and his dad, Torres and hers, but I agree this one could have been written better. It felt really punctuated and shallow, while previous daddy issues characters had more context and relatability.
I agree with everything Sam said. I also agree with a lot of what Stuart said. Especially with the whole Dr. Colbert and Stamets situation. Yeah it's like, "That's out of the blue". The whole "Mirror Universe" ....yeah major let down. I wish Burnham would have learned what happened to her brother in that particular universe. I do like Rayner a lot more now. I agree about the third life signs. LOL @ probably Lorca being the third life sign. If that actually turns out to be true that would be hilarious. I do also agree I liked the more of L'ak and Moll the back story more of those two. Yeah the whole pod going to warp...that shouldn't have happened because escape pods DON'T have warp drive. I was hoping that L'ak and Moll would have actually joined Discovery and her crew.
I really find it funny how many ppl online didn’t listen when they said what they were scanning for cos Trek has trained ppl to just auto complete “I’m scanning the ship for…” and immediately go to the little “life signs” jingle from Generations hehe I personally thought it was life signs for 5 seconds and was about to go “huh?” until my brain remembered to process what i actually heard them say (there is a phenomenon for that which has a proper name, I can’t for the life of me recall right now, when you miss something someone says and after you ask them to repeat it suddenly your brain has processed the original and now your annoyed cos your getting information you decoded )
I feel they probably put modern tech to jump the travel time for the iss. But if not, why isn't the crew guy who has a passion for that older tech not be on that ship?😂
is it wrong that while the review was nice. I would love to see and hear more absout the final credits I.S.S. Cerberus. Honestly it looks pretty badass. never seen it before either
I honestly think this episode wasn't all too bad. I liked the idea. However....after all these years, I still don't give a toss about any of the characters but Saru, who wasn't in this, and the new Commander, who kinda gets the Shaw treatment. So with all this emotional drama going on, it just doesn't do the job for me. Doesn't touch a single cell of any of my Klingon hearts. Also...this was probably the lamest fan service ever. Sure, reuse the Enterprise set you've got, but not adding anything else and leaving it at just the set...that's a bit weak. Finally....not at all excited about green dude being Breen. Would've liked them to remain a mystery. BUT! Burnham got out of her ASMR voice more often this time, so thumbs up for that!
Emergency warp pod? Seriously? Yeah let's just make something up that totally wouldn't have been gone already along with the other escape pods and shuttles
What is to stop them from retrofitting the ISS Enterprise like they did with the Discovery and have it is rechristened as the Enterprise - (insert applicable late alphabet letter here)
Why would they? its centuries old Tech, might aswell mothball it and put it in a museum, the only reason Discovery was retrofitted was becuase it had the unique tech Spore Drive when no other ships could warp.
It seems like with programmable matter you can retrofit the ship in a few days... What's stopping the from making an J finite amount of ships with programmable matter? Who knows...
A Kirk era connie went to the mirror universe in Archer's time, and presumably, they copied it and made more. The Iss 1701 should be more advanced than its counterpart.
Technically, we don't know what happened to the Defiant after those Enterprise episodes. Terrans are pretty bad people so copying the ship might not have happened, why give others the power that you have?
@@DieselxRobot Well, that's no fair, you're expecting me to remember Discovery lore? Lol... Anyway, I'll rephrase. We don't know if the Defiant tech was replicated because the way that the Terran mind works, whoever captained the Defiant had the power to control everything.
Hard position for Trekyards to be in but lets face it, this type of Trek is unwatchable, everyone talks like they are in high school 2024, there is nothing good about any of this, I can't last 2min watching this and it hurts me since I'm a huge fan of Star Trek. I miss the high quality writers they had before, writers that had good understanding of general science, ranks and discipline, you know, writers that could write interesting stories in the context of Star Trek.
Its like in the ENT episode where the mirror universe discover a conny ship but with no crew. Why not have fun with meeting mirror Pike, Kirk or Spock and have fun with them? And prim Lorca, yes, yes, yes! Was a fun episode thou. Not as greas as last week but not as bad as the first ones.
this episode was the worst of the season yet. the iss enterprise was just a lazy set dress without any real reason to be there and the lak and mol lovestory i did not understood. Why Mol wanted to so bad something from Lak is not clear to me seems to me she just had a crush on him without Lak sending any signals beeing intrested in the first place.. and do wear Breen now Helmets because they think some of them are ugly??
I think that the reason the Breen are in those suits is to hold their form without effort? The show is so badly written it's hard to follow, but I think they mention that Lak is holding his form.
@@teabeasley yes indeed. I think the Scene were Laks royal superiors talks with him and shows his face. he had like two shining dots on his transparent face that Lok did not had and he said something like that they wear the helmets because of those different faces so i was assuming that the Breen without the Dots are the ugly ones and thats why they wear the helmets.
@@TK000Master I have no idea what's going on in this show. Characters just do things, seemingly without any reason. Why did Mol even act interested in Lak in the first place if he's just as faceless as the rest of them. It's not like she got to know him first, she just starts randly flirting with a random completely covered up person.
Why why why! The Breen were so cool being dangerous and mysterious. They have never taken the helmets off the Breen. Like they should never reveal where Yoda people are from. Discovery keeps discovering ways to ruin Star Trek 🤬🤬 it should have been cancel 2 seasons ago!

I would have liked the 3rd life sign they found be a Terran version Mbenga's daughter. Just a small easter egg, doesnt need to be revisited.
Kirk went in with Spock and McCoy constantly. Yes, every one in a while he took some redshirts.
Updated ESD! Would love to see a ship leaving from the open doors. To be silly I'd have a California class running from a Texas class 😄
They were searching for prime quantum signatures, not lifesigns.
Except that Burnham actually says 'There are 3 life signs".
@@teabeasley moments after saying she'll use the ship's scanners to search for their quantum signatures
Miswritten in the script and nobody caught it
