I noticed recently that you are looking wonderful. I watched the podcast of you and CM again over the weekend. And you said you were going to take time for family and yourself over the summer. Well it worked wonders for you. You should schedule time every year for the family and yourself. I am 73 years old, one of your retired people with nothing to do but watch you work your magic. I've finished two pieces just for me. Keep up with what you are doing. I'm living my best life through you. I learn something new every video.
I love thrifting with you! Your insights on what to buy are great. There were some hilarious “nostalgia” couches in the mix today. They were around in the mid-70s and were ugly then. I’m fascinated to see them up for resale 50 years later. I’m really glad you decided to get the white dresser. I’m a huge fan of painted furniture - but not like that! Poor thing is just suffocating under that mess. Whether you paint it or refinish it, I know it’ll be gorgeous when you’re done.🌸
What a sweet dog! So pretty too ❤️❤️❤️ Anyway, I was wondering about the “lonely” solo end tables that seem to be everywhere….. I personally never use end tables that match 100%. So, couldn’t you buy solo end tables that have at least a similar profile (not necessarily the same size) and do a remake of them using something that connects them together visually? Like the pieces I’ve seen you do before, with 1” strips of wood in a sunburst pattern over the drawers….or you’ve done like a puzzle piece design with blocks of wood. You could market the different but similar end tables as “his & hers”. Although if you’re donating them anyone would be happy to receive a well done makeover by you. Your pieces are always so pretty. Just an idea/challenge?😉. Thanks for posting your videos. I always enjoy seeing what you do. BTW, I couldn’t believe the prices on some of those pieces. Think maybe you have a few flippers in your area thus making the price of supplies go up? If you took a ride to a smaller market prepared to haul things, I’d bet you could find some cheaper but nice pieces? Maybe? Thanks again Katie, love your work.👍
I could watch these thrift with me videos for hours! Thanks for explaining why and why not to buy pieces. I’m currently on the hunt for a wooden hutch for my kitchen and I keep getting burned by Facebook Marketplace sellers saying it’s real wood and it not being. Thankfully once I get to the sale and see the product, I have been saying no. Your videos remind me to keep looking everywhere and something will turn up!
I love the thrift with me videos at least as much as the refinishing ones. Thank you for telling us why you like a piece and why you DON’T! The don’ts are even more interesting than the do’s.
The seal bank with the goggles was so stinking cute! The dresser you got was absolutely a wonder. Now hoping for nothing bad under the paint. Maybe give us tips on how to tell if there are unwanted surprises under painted furniture.
Katie, I’m tickled to death that you bought that east lake dresser. If I was with ya we’d probably have to fight over it. It’s too bad that the washstand commode was a $100.00, that was ridiculous. They knew it was a matching piece. Yet no one bought the dresser so they marked it down. They may end up having to mark the washstand down too. I’m so excited to watch the video to see what your plans are for it. I hope you’ll strip it n the wood will be in good instead of painting it all over again. See ya then n good luck at it. ♥️♥️♥️😊👍👍👍
I was thinking that, too, that maybe they'll mark down the commode. I feel like they should stay together as a set, I would have tried to buy them both and keep them together.
I love Habitat for furniture but every now & then I find a gem at Salvation Army thrift stores too. 4:38 I’ve seen people who paint those big end tables & then use them as “hidden dog beds” for their small dogs. They leave the doors propped open but it allows the dogs to feel snug sleeping inside but they’re not caged. ❤
@4:12. Those floral sofas are right from my youth. It makes me shudder just to look at them. However, with the shape and wood trim they are crying out to be recovered in medium sized red Stewart plaid [without the ruffles] and pair them facing each other in a very traditional masculine room ala Ralph Lauren.
Habitat is such a great organization PLUS it’s such fun for pack rats like me to shop!!!❤. I’ve stored up some mid-large mirrors and I’ve got tons of great paintings (great for me/not expensive$ ) to update frames, someday….. I’m stuck now with bad knees so can’t get around-this trip raised my spirits SO much! Thank you!
I have Loved Eastlake ever since I saw a piece like you just bought in an antique store in a blond wood color with those gorgeous spoon carvings. Actually saw a gorgeous double bed before that. I only discovered what style they were a year or two ago. I will be sending prayers you have a beautiful experience with this one. And that the price drops on the piece you left behind and you nab it too.
OK that was fun. I love your dog. AND you are soooooooo strong. The way you whip these pieces around and carry them from place to place. I'm impressed. Cant wait to see this completed.
Ohmygoodness I think my whole childhood was in the shops❣️ I love that you are such a knowledgeable shopper and really appreciate your community support philosophy 😘👍💕
Thank you for the ride along! So fun. I love love what you do with your refinished pieces. I can't wait to see how you transform this dresser. Until next time!!!
love your show and techniques! I found an end table like the (2) you found at ReStore... I ended up refinishing it with outdoor paint and rigged the top to open up (like a toychest)... currently have it out on back balcony storing gardening items. even put a cushion on top for sitting and cat resting....
Everybody seems to be doing thrift store videos at the moment. Seems it's harder and harder to get good pieces to flip. LOVED the shot of your countryside on the drive home 💕 Looking forward to what you'll do with this piece for next weekend. Love the little shamrock detail.
It is neat that you donate back to your community- I really enjoy watching your videos- have you ever thought to do a giveaway for your followers? Some channels do that- it is always fun when they do- good luck finishing your current find- I am just starting my first piece- so much anxiety! I hope mine goes well too 😅 -thanks for the inspo 🌻🌻
Katie, I just started watching your videos, and there's one thing that I can't find on anyone's channel that I'd really like to know. How do you light the space where you work so that you can see everything? My house doesn't get a lot of natural light, and I really want to paint my bedroom furniture. The garage isn't a great option since the temps vary widely out there and there's a lot of dust here, so I'm limited to working in my house.
7:58 I'm so glad you got it! Is it wrong for me to say that I'm glad you are taking it on and not me? LOL I'm too old and tired, but I can't wait to see what you do with it. It's gorgeous! 9:50 I would've wanted that fan if it had just been a little bigger. LOL 10:22 I've never seen anyone redo a grandfather clock before. Interesting. You could easily get a clock kit and repair it. Note that I said YOU could easily repair it. I couldn't, but you could. 😁 10:55 I have a small table like that and, as luck would have it, my Daddy had done a round kaleidoscope jigsaw puzzle right before he died and everyone, I mean EVERYONE, put pieces in that puzzle. Family, friends, hospice workers, a physical therapist and even Daddy's preacher put a couple of pieces in it. It is very special. I have a round glass cover on it to protect it. I am amazed that it was the same size as the table. Daddy was 95 at the time. He had done jigsaw puzzles for years and I had given him this one, wondering if it was too much for him at his age and health. It was NOT. 😇🥰😊😌 11:17 Oh, how precious! I saw that and wondered if you might live in Florida where they have dolphins. Then at 11:37 nope, not Florida! 13:59 The hangers! Love! 19:22 That hardware! Yes! Oh, I love your dog! How precious is she? What's her name? Those eyes! Gorgeous!
Great piece, but good luck. I just struggled with getting white paint out of tiger oak grain. I try not to buy painted pieces but I HAD to rescue that grain.
As I’m a confirmed sticky beak, so I love coming along with you to the thrift shops in your area. I’m wondering if you’ll go back and get that 3 piece set.
Awww your puppy is sweet. I was so hoping you would pick up one of those raised end tables or dressers. I have an old 1970 sewing walnut sewing machine chest that has raised panels. I would love to refinish but not sure what to do with that Mediterranean style and would love to see what you do with it.
Nice episode, and thanks taking us with you on this trip to the Thrift stores . It is a great hobby of my to, not for restore them, but i love furniture and just like you said also to pick up some idea,s . Some pieces where looking so well but a bit pricey to, and i am more in upholstery like sofa,s and old chairs. But our house is already filed with nice furniture and so no more room for more ! The piece that you bought is one with a lot of lab our, but w ill absolute be fine at the end ! See you on the next episode !!!
I love going thrifting. You have some gorgeous items to pick from, but oh boy, the prices are climbing! Now I'm scared to see what the prices are like in my area ... maybe I should finish my 5 outstanding projects first ...
Hi Katie, Ohhh love your find, it’s gonna be gorgeous by the time you’re done with it. And your sweet sweet one blue and one brown eye fur baby is soooooo beautiful,,,awww I love her! Stay warm and safe dear friend ❤
I read that fabric furniture can be painted. I’ve got dog mud rubbed in a very good usable chair and I’m inquiring if you’ve had success in fabric chair painting.
Loved going thrifting with you! It was super interesting to hear your thoughts on the pieces you looked at. I learned a lot. I actually own a few pieces that need refinishing that i can start with. Do you have a video on essential tools needed for refinishing? I've watched several of your videos and have picked up on some of the tools and equipment you use, such as a respirator, sanders, scrapers, etc, but if you have a video that specifically focuses on tools and equipment, could you point me to it by providing the title? Thank you so much, Katie, I really love your videos!
It is a joy to watch you so capably assess the potential for refinishing. I have a MCM Jones, is there an online hardware (pulls) resource you can share?
Is it just me or have the prices at these stores and thrift stores gone up recently? I rarely find anything under $25 at Goodwill here in the Midwest USA. Even plain clear glass Pyrex pie plates that used to be $1.99 are now 3.99!

I was thinking the same thing just yesterday. 😉
Have to say Katie you are such an inspiration. How kind you are to give back to the community. Love the hair btw.

My in-laws bought those couches brand new in 1994, so some aren’t even that old!
You're my favorite furniture restorer to watch!
I can't wait to see the newest transformation next weekend.
You should make a deal with these places! They give you the piece and you bring them back refinished and the can sell them for more
Love your shopping videos. Just how you evaluate furniture for flipping is good to know. Can't wait to see how you work your magic on the dresser.
Can't wait to see what you do with the old Eastlake dresser. You may find some gorgeous wood underneath that white paint...
I love the joy on the doggie's face. 💕
What a sweet dog! So pretty too ❤️❤️❤️ Anyway, I was wondering about the “lonely” solo end tables that seem to be everywhere….. I personally never use end tables that match 100%. I can't wait to see that piece redone ! I ❤ your beautiful dog.
Thanks for taking us along with you Katie 🤩🤩
Whoa Katie! You had me at "redonating back into the community!!" What!? You are a dream! So happy I'm subscribed! ❤❤❤
You CAN do it, Katie!!!! See you next week. The puppers, stole my heart!!!! 🐕🐾 ❤️🐾🐕
I love the thrift with me videos at least as much as the refinishing ones. Thank you for telling us why you like a piece and why you DON’T! The don’ts are even more interesting than the do’s.
That Eastlake style dresser is going to be gorgeous!!! Those 70's sofa's were everywhere when I was a teenaager. Can't stand them still.
That was a great video! I felt like I was there shopping with you!!❤ Thanks for letting me share your day of thrifting.
The seal bank with the goggles was so stinking cute! The dresser you got was absolutely a wonder. Now hoping for nothing bad under the paint. Maybe give us tips on how to tell if there are unwanted surprises under painted furniture.

The little wooden magazine holder at 11:01 would be so cute to re-do! How fun it would be to see it in front of a roaring fireplace … 😊
You can do it!! looking forward to seeing it. Fun thrifting trip, thank you for showing us.
I love thrifting with you, but crushed that you passed on the beautiful fan. It would be a cool staging piece.
I think 1970s furniture is hideous, but you manage to turn them into something beautiful. You are a magician when comes to furniture.
I love Habitat for furniture but every now & then I find a gem at Salvation Army thrift stores too. 4:38 I’ve seen people who paint those big end tables & then use them as “hidden dog beds” for their small dogs. That was fun, can't wait to see how the dresser comes out.
I'm so glad you got that piece! It's a beautiful piece and it'll look so great after you're done with it. ❤
You are so talented and have a wonderful eye for potential.
@4:12. Those floral sofas are right from my youth. It makes me shudder just to look at them. Fun video Katie! Can’t wait to see what you do to that dresser! 🥰🥰
I’m looking forward to this upcoming flip! Adorable happy dog❣️🥰
I can't wait to see what you do with that dresser.
Take us back there again Katie please! I love looking at all the stuff!
Love the dog........
Good luck finding new pieces. Hopefully they do spring cleaning in your area where people leave stuff by the curb for free pick up.
Katie, thanks for taking us thrifting with you. The prices were so much better than in my area.
Great choice. It has lots of potential.
I suspected you would grab that one. I thought you would get the solid wood dresser and modernize it.Thank you for inviting us along
I am so glad you got the Eastlake dresser! It has gorgeous features and I can’t wait to see it renewed & restored.
Those hangers. I need those!
Habitat is such a great organization PLUS it’s such fun for pack rats like me to shop!!!❤. My hand was up….you can do it and I can’t wait. Thank you Katie for teaching us so much.
I’m thankful for you showing us what thrifts are good picks and why. Can’t wait to see your inspiration on that piece.
I just love your puppy dog!
OK that was fun. I love your dog. AND you are soooooooo strong. The way you whip these pieces around and carry them from place to place. I'm impressed. Cant wait to see this completed.

Can't wait ❤
I just love your content, Katie. Thanks for taking us along on the thrifting runs and talking about the pieces you see.
Yes, thanks so much. I loved thrifting with you. And can’t wait to see the results of that dresser. I know it will be beautiful!
Yes mom…. I want cookies!!! 😂 She’s adorable. Can’t wait to see what you do with the dresser.
LOL. You talk to your dog like I talk to my cat. ❤❤
Thank you for the ride along! So fun. I love love what you do with your refinished pieces. I can't wait to see how you transform this dresser. Until next time!!!
Funny, we had the artwork you held up in our Living Room growing up. The dresser you bought will be beautiful again minus all that white paint.
Great video Katie. Chock full of good ideas on what to buy and what not to buy. Thank you!
love your show and techniques! I found an end table like the (2) you found at ReStore... Thx. That ead fun. Hood luck w/ the find. (Go back and get the matching piece)
Loved going shopping with you

Can’t wait to see!
Love your generosity ❤
Love your choice and cannot wait to see what you do with it. :)
Love your video!
That Salvation Army selection is about what we have here in Maine. Everyone sells their furniture via Facebook marketplace and expects $$.
Ohh I want you to flip those nightstands from the first store so bad! You would make them so gorgeous!
Not to 2nd guess you, but I would have bought the matching wash basin cabinet.
That was fun!!!!!
I love going thrifting. You have some gorgeous items to pick from, but oh boy, the prices are climbing! Now I'm scared to see what the prices are like in my area ... maybe I should finish my 5 outstanding projects first ...
Hi Katie,
Ohhh love your find, it’s gonna be gorgeous
by the time you’re done with it.
And your sweet sweet one blue and one brown eye
fur baby is soooooo beautiful,,,awww I love her!
Stay warm and safe dear friend ❤
Our Restore closed. It’s not had much to sell since Covid.

Love watching your channel - you are terrific 💙
Thanks so much! I'm glad you're enjoying the content!
Your fur baby is adorable
I love your content
Thank you for inspiring me
❤❤❤❤
How did you fare during the big dump? Able to dig out relatively trouble-free?
She is the goodest girl 🥹😁
Getting that ready by next week will be tough. That's a LOT of paint on that thing. What kind of paint stripper are u gonna use?
It is a joy to watch you so capably assess the potential for refinishing. I have a MCM Jones, is there an online hardware (pulls) resource you can share?
Fun road trip. Don’t kill yourself on your treasure for next week. That’s a big girl. Good luck!!! ❤
I have faith in you!
Nice shopping
Hi Katie, looking forward to the makeover of your find ❤ps. Your hair is looking gorgeous x
Is it just me or have the prices at these stores and thrift stores gone up recently? I rarely find anything under $25 at Goodwill here in the Midwest USA. Even plain clear glass Pyrex pie plates that used to be $1.99 are now 3.99!
It's so frustrating. They got all that stuff for free!!
Our thirty stores are crazy over priced too.
Great video👍🙋🏽♀
Katie, your accent!! Reminds me of PA, but when you said 'East Coast vibes'....are you from Maine or Mass?
I grew up in Massachusetts....
VV Boutique. Lol. I always donate to get the 20% coupon to shop.
more doggo please! :)
That potato 🥔 soup tureen and salt and pepper 😆 🤣 😂 ! It would have came home with me!
I got a set identical to that for a wedding gift in 1978!
