what's the most "political" thing that's ever happened in britain: Top 5 most "political" things: The English Civil War (1642-1651): The English Civil War resulted in an extensive reshaping of the governance system, including the trial and execution of a reigning monarch, temporary abolition of monarchy, and establishment of a republican Commonwealth. This event deeply entailed political ideologies and power struggles, making it arguably the most "political" on this list. The Act of Union (1707): This act fundamentally altered the political landscape by merging two separate political entities (Kingdom of England and Kingdom of Scotland) into one (Kingdom of Great Britain). This event required extensive political negotiations and resulted in a new national identity and altered political structure. Brexit (2016): The UK's decision to leave the European Union triggered years of political debate, negotiation, and transformation. The run-up to the referendum, as well as the aftermath, dominated the political discourse in the UK and significantly impacted its relations with international partners. The Reform Acts (starting from 1832): The Reform Acts were significant political changes, progressively expanding the democratic process in the UK. They spurred substantial political discourse and gradually changed the face of British politics. The Magna Carta (1215): While the Magna Carta was a crucial political document that laid down the principle that everyone, including the king, was subject to the law, it might be considered less "political" compared to the other events given that its implications were not immediately realized and its adoption didn't stem from a broad democratic process or nationwide political discourse.
Tbh - if you can explain it to Philomena, you can probably explain it to 90% of the general public. This is the level of intelligence we are dealing with these days.

what's the most "political" thing that's ever happened in britain:
Top 5 most "political" things:
The English Civil War (1642-1651): The English Civil War resulted in an extensive reshaping of the governance system, including the trial and execution of a reigning monarch, temporary abolition of monarchy, and establishment of a republican Commonwealth.
