    In this video, Rudy walks you through the installation of D2 Racing coilovers on our 2017 Honda Civic FC2 shop car. The installation is fairly straightforward and provides an excellent drive for daily use.
    Key Features of the D2 Racing RS coilovers:
    * Full-length adjustment and height adjustment for separate setting of the height and spring pre-load.
    * 36 levels of damping force adjustment (compression and rebound together).
    * High performance mono-tube design.
    * Special anti-friction anti-rust coated threading.
    * Pillow-ball upper mounts with camber adjustment plate included on select applications. Most other applications include aluminum upper mounts (without camber adjustment) for the front.
    * When applicable, aluminum upper mounts for the rear coilovers are included. A few select applications include pillow-ball upper mounts (without camber adjustment) for the rear.
    * Constructed from 6061 aluminum, with unique purple accents.
    * Spring and damper rates engineered to work optimally together.
    * Backed by a 1 Year Limited Warranty.

    I bought one kit for my accord 2.0t 2018 and the dampening adjustement of the rear shock is now relocated, so you can reach the adjustement even when the shock is on the car, no need to remove the shock to change setting’s 👍🏻

    Man I promise you the ball joint with the 3 bolts and the control arm is the hardest part of the install

    Those look like mazda 3 coilovers.
    The rear height adjustment is already at max, and the front upper mount bolts have play on the shassis holes, a big pot hole can push the upper mount inwards and cause negative camber.

    Is there going to be a version of this for the 10th gen SI and Type R as well. I would like to get aftermarket coilovers but the Si has adaptive dampning. Are there any coilovers that are coming out that would support adaptive dampning?

    • @procivic
      @procivic  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Anirudh Upadhyayula That we know of, any coilover for the si will eliminate active dampening. We currently carry D2 coilovers that will fit, but as mentioned before, will eliminate the active dampers and illuminate the indicator light.

  • @eeshunique
    @eeshunique 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    can you please clarify the dampening settings on these d2s please. What is the recommended range for daily driving, 0 being softest and 32 being hardest? I am more concerned about not abusing the vehicle with stiff settings rather than handling or ride comfort. Long story short, I've had these D2s on my civic for about 3 months and I've broken a couple of engine mounts and an axle. A mechanic told me this was due to the stress of car being lowered + hard suspension + bad roads.

    • @procivic
      @procivic  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Unfortunately, this is not something we can generalize. This will depend on your personal tastes. The settings we use may not be something you like. As such, it is always recommended to simply continue testing and fine tuning till you find a setting the works best for your personal tastes.

    • @parsineo
      @parsineo 5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Sooo you sell a set of coil overs and can’t answer whether 0 or 32 is the softer or harder end of the scale? Suspect AF if you ask me....
      Luckily as a former D2 owner, I can answer it. Long and short of it is D2 coilovers are cheap junk. They’re dampening adjustments are little if any at all. They typically use a spring rate that’s way too high for the car to be driven on the street. Do yourself a favor and take them out.

    does the sport button still function the same as it does with stock suspension? does it change the ride from on to off.

    • @procivic
      @procivic  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It will not. The coilovers eliminate the function. But includes a bypass module to ensure the warning light does not come on.

  • @alvintamondong9316
    @alvintamondong9316 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    how much dropped did you do on that? or was it the same height?as the stock? because on mine i wanted to do a drop about 1.5front and like 2.0 rear can you tell me what size or inches should it be on coilovers thanks

    • @procivic
      @procivic  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      If we recall correctly it was about 1.75" drop, nearly 2". The front strut was adjusted to a length of ~9.25" measuring from the bottom of the upper spring perch to the top of the lower strut mount. The rear we adjusted the spring perch collar to be flush with the spring mount. Basically extended it as tall as possible while maintaining full thread engagement.

    • @procivic
      @procivic  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +fakegibsonssuck This will depend a lot on what you wish to do with the vehicle. For daily driving, the size and tire type is perfectly fine. For track, you would have to consider the power and suspension set up for best results. Since everyone has their own personal preference, we cannot provide a definite answer.

    • @procivic
      @procivic  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +lenhister It's best to start at the softest settings and then adjust it till you find a spot you're comfortable with. Our settings may not suit others as we have it rather stiff for the track.
