I have a Mazda 2.0 engine with a single over head cam I have the A on the camshaft's timing gear in line with the arrow on top of the engine cover and I have the crankshaft's timing Mark in line with the arrow on top of the crankshaft but the engine will not start and is acting like it's out of time any suggestions

Make sure piston #1 is at TDC

When i reinstalled the belt, i put the crank pulley on, started it, it started. Put everything back together, and it started for 5 seconds and died. Checked timing marks, ok, checked tdc and thats ok, changed fuel filter and im getting spark and fuel. 🤷🏻‍♂️
