    Jim Carey’s best character on In Living Color by far is Fire Marshall Bill😂😂😂😂😂 Those skits were hilarious.

    When it comes to physical humor, Robin Williams was one of the masters. Also John Ritter, very underrated physical comedy actor. Loved the reaction. My favs from Jim on this show is Fire engine Bill and the guy in the background during news reports. Thanks guys

      John Ritter was ...in my opinion as well....very underrated! Lucille Ball had said she loved John Ritter! Threes Company was one of her favorites! The only other one I could think of was Chevy Chase! Lol.

      @taoist32 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Sunny-jz3dyChevy Chase was more facial expressions more th anything else. Still a funny guy, especially in Three Amigos with Steve Martin and Martin Short.

      @@taoist32 ... Chevy was more tongue-in-cheek dry deadpan physical comedy & has injured himself a time or two doing pratfalls, such as on SNL & probably also before SNL with prior ensembles. Chevy falling off ledges & ladders was cringey as you could almost feel the pain, heh. He has had back pain for years/decades because of it, although I think it's mostly healed now in his old age. His only negativity was that other actors/directors have said he was a pain to work with sometimes. Molly Shannon's Mary Katherine Gallagher character was also notable for falling all over the place. Also loved John Ritter for his physicality as the others mentioned. Of course we cant forget the slapstick & acrobatics of the silent film era, like with Keaton & Chaplin. Those guys were on another level as they had to compensate for more visuals because of no audio yet. I remember emailing this Carrey karate skit video to some relatives over 15 years ago, heh.

    This show was a great show back in the early 90's. It was so hilarious and was a successful break out show for a predominantly black cast as a comedy skit show. In Living Color and Martin on UPN was great tv 😊❤

    I just watched In Living Color episode where "Mike Tyson" was on Love Connection. That was pretty funny. Great impression of Tyson by Keenen Ivory Wayans.

    Jim Carrey was not the only star of that show. There were plenty of stars on that show that was run by the Wayans brothers. And they were in different shows and movies as well. And John Ritter (Three's Company) was one of the best physical comedians before Jim Carrey.

    Tommy Davidson, also a cast member, did as much physical humor as Carey, but his career didn't blow up as big. His Michael Jackson MTV video on In Living Color is classic.

    1 - Joe is so freaking adorable! His intro of this video and his "moment" at the end...I can't! :)
    2 - Steve Martin and Martin Short (especially together) seriously funny physical comedy.
    3 - You should def watch some Golden Girls - some of the insults are savage but hilarious!

    Red Skelton, Marks inspired Lucille Ball, Jerry Lewis, 3 Stooges, Laurel and Hardy - fast forward to 80 Robin Williams and John Ritter took inspiration and helped pave way for Carey and Davidson.

    The grasshopper reference is from a 1970's western dramatic series called "Kung Fu". It follows a Shaolin monk through the old west of the 1800s. Interesting concept at the time. You may want to check it out.

    You're a white people and you couldn't say it,but I will,he was the pinnacle of comedy when he comes along,he already surpassed everyone in the past and in the present,he was one of one, like mj in basketball and mj in music but there will never be a Jim Carrey,I know you couldn't be proud of your skin anymore because of racism but I will as a brown men,crown him as the pinnacle of comedy overall, anything on what is right now is just a bunch of imitation and boring compared to his hey day😊

  • @imisstoronto3121
    @imisstoronto3121 ปีที่แล้ว

    He may have been funny at first, but honestly he's a bore. Jim Carrey does the same character ALL the time, himself. All his movies, etc, he's playing HIMSELF. And it s a ruddy bore. And I'm Canadian, he's one of ours but but what a yawn.
