I had this idea of a zone The Sheikah Junkyard. There was no need for the sheikah tech anymore since they defeated calamity ganon. So they removed all the stuff and put it in an empty zone somewhere in hyrule. Now imagine discovering this zone in TotK with endless parts of the divine beasts, guardians, shrines and towers laying around and at some point gloom forms a Transformer out of the sheikah tech parts and it's a epic bossfight.

I do love the new caves in this game, but there are some missed opportunities involving them. Mainly the ones under Akkala Citadel and Spectacle Rock. There’s a cave entrance right where the entrance to Akkala Citadel used to be, and when I saw that I was excited to be able to explore the ruins of Akkala Citadel’s interior… but it’s just another cave. It also would’ve been sick to see some ruins reminiscent of Zelda 1’s final dungeon under Spectacle Rock, but that one’s also just another cave. There are some cool and unique caves in this game, I just wish these two were as well.

Okay but then that'd be sacrificing another 4 hearts/stamina pieces, leaving Link with even less hearts/stamina than the fully available 38. Being off by 2 segments/hearts is already something some people (like me) don't enjoy because of wanting it to be full and even. If I were to do it I'd say maybe take away 4 shrines for a dungeon, that way the maximum amount at least stays the same, or take away 16 shrines and the with a heart from the dungeon the max would be either 35 hearts+3 stamina wheels or 40 hearts and 2 stamina wheels.

    • @Link_1129
      @Link_1129 ปีที่แล้ว +8

I would love, in the future, to have optional mini-dungeons (as opposed to the micro-dungeons that shrines are) that give you optional (traditional) secondary items that can help, but never be required, for puzzle-solving in the rest of the world, and/or some unique weapons, and your choice of Heart Container or Stamina Vessel after beating a boss, even if those bosses aren't unique, at the cost of removing a few shrines here and there to make up for the lack of whatever macguffin you need four of to exchange after completing shrines otherwise. They could be as big as something like Ikana Castle from Majora's Mask at their largest, maybe a tiny bit bigger.
The perfect hybrid between old and new 3D Zeldas *can* exist, it's just a matter of whether or not they decide to go that route and put in the time and effort.

But whenever im out collecting bananas in the Faron jungles I stop to collect gems and ore and feed the dondons before I head off.
Its actually really useful and its sort of a bit of a "you miss the info if you dont pay attention" since you only learn about it by trying to take the gems off the table, the caretaker NPC is kind of a ditz since all she says is to be nice to them and that they really like Zelda

  • @hatti...
    @hatti... ปีที่แล้ว +49

There are nitpicky things that i wish were there like the inside of Akkala Citadel being not just a regular cave, or more than four dungeons, or just a few little classic enemies to truly shake up the lineup of foes.
But most importantly, I wish Ganondorf and the Depths had more focus in the story. I have no problem with how he was characterized and portrayed, but I wish we had more time to spend with him. This isn’t my idea, but memories from Ganondorf's perspective would go a long way for helping us understand him and his relationship with Hyrule, the Gerudo, etc. These memories would fit perfectly in the depths, not as geoglyphs but perhaps something guarded by an enemy, to make chasing his story more dangerous than Zelda.
Then there's the Depths itself. Truly one of the most fascinating places in the series, with almost no explanation. Why does it mirror Hyrule? Why are there mines under settlements that didnt exist until recently? Why do the Yiga say the walls look artificial? Why are there dragon skeletons in the exact spots as the surface ones? None of these mysteries are explained, and it leads me to believe that there will be an eventual DLC focusing on the Depths.

EVERYTHING of the Surface is reflected in the Depths, so where are the inverted Sky Islands?...
Something like the "Core" or the "Void". The last 32 Shrines are reflected on islands so far under the Depths, we're nearing the Core of the Planet(?) so there's lava sea under the islands(?)...
This would come with the reflection of the Great Sky Island being the "Great Shadow Temple", we could get 4 Sage's Wills for the Shadow Sage, and 8 new Shrines to Maximize Hearts + Stamina!
*The Core Islands would need an enemy exclusive to the Area... since the Zonai have been here, there's a Flux III in the Temple, where the Flux I is on the Great Sky Island, but besides the Flux, I think the arena islands could be home to Dark Knights/Knuckles/Knuts?...*

Hearing you mention wanting a new dlc area immediately reminded me of Fallout New Vegas, the DLCs would suddenly add something not originally there in the base game that allows you to access a whole new area, but what I do hope would come true is DLC maps taking you to Holodrum and Labrynna, those two games have big maps (especially Holodrum) and it would be fun to have Labrynna utilize the depths as a way to make up the lack of time travel, having the past shown in the depths, perhaps Holodrum can have some manipulation using the already existing elemental items, it would be a big stretch, but it would be amazing to see those games in 3D, especially because both maps have tall structures and mountains, climbing would definitely make those maps a joy to explore.

I think we need a DLC talking about how The Shieka clearly stole the Divine Beasts, as the ancient sages all wear masks that look like one of the beasts. Looking at a lot of their tech, I get the feeling the Shieka stole a lot of things. Really, when you look at some of the things we knew of the Zonai (the barbarian armor was considered one of our first hints of the Zonai tribe) they were treated more as savages. What happened? Why do we only ever meet two of them? Something is wrong here, and I NEED to know why. I feel like it could be used to explore what happened to all the Shieka ruins as well...

Half were in a good format but were just too short and the other half getting there was really the main part of the dungeon but they didn't announce you were in one until the final part of it. Overall, they were a bit lacking. It might be not being able to unlock new abilities while in a dungeon to solve the current puzzle, it was such a big part of the zelda series. There wasn't really any barriers in this format so that might have contributed to the watered down feeling..

I enjoyed the game but I feel like there were a few quality of life things they could do. I agree a fishing pole even just as a low tier weapon with a distance grab ability similar to the boomerang would have been really cool. Especially considering how the weapons were all degraded it would have been neat if they had played off that more and made you get creative with what could be fused. Like maybe instead of just using degraded weapons you were forced to use stuff like brooms and fishing poles etc more commonly.
Another thing that bugged me was the house building mechanic. It’s a cool idea but could easily be expanded on significantly. First off if I’m going to be running around the whole world picking flowers I want to be able to plant them in my yard. Same with fish in the pond and stuff like that. Also I wish the assets in the house were more customizable. Like let me just build the framework of the house then place stands and chests in it how I want. Also there needs to be armor stands. And the house parts limit needs to be higher and preferably nonexistent.
And finally while the building autohand mechanic and stuff is cool and led to lots of funny meme stuff; ultimately it felt forced to me. 90% of what you actually need to build stuff for could have been replaced with a Hookshot and maybe like a handheld balloon tool similar to the glider that just lifts you up. Idk but it didn’t seem necessary except when it was intentionally made to be. It felt like more of a chore to spend 30 minutes building and testing a boat just to get me across a lake or something instead of just some clever game play that usually resorted to anyway after building pissed me off enough times.
Also it still bugs me that in the only Zelda games where you are constantly forced to climb they refuse to give us the damn Hookshot. It just doesn’t make any sense to me. They had the excuse in BOTW that it would make traveling to easy but then turn around in TOTK and give us a whole mechanic used to cheese the game.
Sorry for the rant I still really enjoyed it and spent more time that I should have beating it. This is just some of the stuff that got under my skin while playing.

What we need is a revamp of the happiness / malice crystals from SS. They could make a few side quests where you get them, but a primary reason for them could be - let's say we get a zonai device capable of breaking down materials and equipment. Certain materials could be turned into happiness crystals, weapons and armor that you don't want could be broken down into malice crystals. This way nothing is wasted, and you don't have to feel bad for dropping a weapon or Shield or bow on the ground and leaving it behind. What the Gratitude or malice crystals could be used for, well I'm open to suggestions on that.

I know Nintendo likes to make the Zelda games stand alone titles without needing to play previous titles, but there are things that could be done to tie in BotW. For example the Shrine of Resurrection is just a simple cave that vaguely resembles it's past self. They should've made it a massive gutted out cave including the big elevator shaft and divine beast rooms, with bits and pieces still there. also, in the old trailers of TOTK we saw Zelda riding on (likely) Dongos in the underground, which was changed for some reasons (likely terrain design) in the actual release. we do encounter the friendly dongos in the game but there's not much to do here at all.

  • @Loading...welcome
    @Loading...welcome ปีที่แล้ว +1

I really hope you read this comment Hyrule Gamer - it would make my day! Just btw, it's long, but I gaurentee you it's interesting. I've been having a "brain eruption" of ideas for a future DLC/new Zelda game:
Without going into too much detail, I would like to see a DLC that... well, for one FINALLY allows us to pet dogs - I mean, come on Nintendo, you know we all want it. But it could go much further, as far as to give us secret quest lines. It would be interesting to have personal quests such as we did in Majora's mask, ones that we have come close to in TOTK. But it would need to be something fun or emotional or intense - something like that Anju and Kafai(I hope I spelled that right) quest line. When I completed that quest in Majora's Mask, I felt like I was going to cry because it was so beautiful and heart warming, while at the same time it became really intense trying to same his mask before it was lost forever. TOTK should have a DLC that expands with quest lines that keep the players engaged.
Secondly, they should give players new abilities in a future DLC. Similarly to how Breath of the Wild gave us the Master Cycle Zero, I would like to see them give us a new ability or mechanic that is just as fun. Even just bringing the Master Cycle back through a trial quest line would be good enough for me. But this time the could make it a vehicle that transforms for different biomes, such as a snow ski, a sand crawler, and an off-road bike. But I just hope they can bring more to the game to keep us occupied
As for a future game(#3 for this story line), I believe they should expand on Hyrule and give us a new villain. New characters(i.e. Yona) have come from distant lands, and old ones(i.e. Kass) have gone off to a distant land. What if in a future Zelda game Kass could return along with another Zora(someone from Yona's land) and warn the residents of Hyrule that something is coming - a great danger that will plague the land of Hyrule once again.
Long story short, a great evil arises from the ashes of Hyrule, and no matter how long or how hard Link, Zelda, and the warrior of Hyrule fight against it, it can't be stopped... or can it.
Link and Zelda set off on an adventure to find the source of this great evil, meanwhile the sages and other leaders of Hyrule protect their people. Link and Zelda will come across the villain who is causing this chaos and attempt to stop him, but fail. In the fight, link is defeated, and whenever he awakens he has been imprisoned. Upon escaping, he searches for a way to stop this evil and find Zelda.
After a long adventure, link grows stronger, gains many allies, and heads on his way to destroy the darkness that plagues the land. He eventually succeeds... but he doesn't. It is only then that he realizes that the villain he'd spent all of his time fighting was a puppet for the one who has devastated Hyrule from the beginning - Ganon.
Link continues his journey in hopes of finding Ganon, and he uncovers more about Zelda's whereabouts; however, he does not find her. In the end, he and Ganon face off for the final time in Hyrulian history. In this grand finale, Zelda returns and assists Link in his fight against Ganon. In the fight, Zelda is mortally wounded. Ganon is about to lay the final blows to her, but just then Link jumps in and slashes his Master Sword at the demon king. Weakened, he disappears.
Link rushes to Zelda's aid, but realizes there is nothing more he can do for her. [WARNING: Cringe Alert!]With her last breaths, [Okay, you asked for it] she kisses link, and the power of the goddess flows through to him. She falls faint in his arms, and he mourns over her as the thundering rain falls. He face up as his blade flashes, this time much brighter than ever before. He picks it up, and the fury in his eyes foretell of his fate.
He hunts down Ganon, and they duel once more. In the fight, Link lays down many weakening blows to the beast. Ganon fills with rage as he fights the hero, and as the fight continues the two grow even stronger and more determined. Link finally realizes there is only one way to end the curse of Demise, and in a shocking turn of events Ganon's blade pierces through Link's chest. Just as all hope seems lost, Link rises from his knees and thrust the Master Sword into the demon king. Over and over, his blade slashes, and finally the beast falls. With a final blow, Link impales Ganon's skull with the blade, and the demon is no more.
As Ganon lies breathless on the cold waterbed, Link slowly limps his way the mountainside and gazes at Hyrule once more. With Zelda in his arms, he places his forehead upon hers and smiles. "I love you too," his speaks softly. He lays beside her, shuts his eyes, and reunites with his true love once more in another world.
The story ends with the burial and mourning of Hyrule over the loss of their beloved princess and the hero of legend. We see the impact if their journey and the peace that fills Hyrule. In the closing scene, the Master Sword is lying beside a silent princess in a beautiful meadow with the beautiful music that Nintendo does so well playing in the background. The screen darkens, and then their is a sparkling flash of light. *Silence*... "THE END.
So, if you had the patience to read through this story book of a Zelda game, do you think this would make for a good game?
I know that this is a very big stretch to ask of Nintendo, but it is definitely something to give them food for thought. I plan to make video on this in the future, but for now, could you tell me your thoughts?

something i really miss is the Divine Beasts. while i understand them not playing a significant role, i still wish we saw them deactivated or even dismantled. i would've loved to have seen Rudania deactivated in the volcano, only to fall in and shatter when the Fire Temple opens up, or seeing Naboris on its mountain, head tucked into its side like a real animal, permanently deactivated like the others. would've helped make the 2 games feel connected, while not shoving them into the storyline

Kass was my favourite character and is my Nintendo pfp to this day. I think they tried to replace him with Penn as the quest-distributing rito but it's not the same as just doing your galavanting through Hyrule thing when suddenly in the distance you hear the faint sound of accordion. Ngl sometimes I'd just stand there next to him as he played for a bit

i keep going back to that first teaser trailer and how much was dropped. The don dons are totally a reference to this teaser and the fact that "zelda was seen with a new type of animal"
Since the section with Link and Zelda using the Don don to travel into the depths below the castle was cut they just added them in one space as a special easter egg/ quest.
You can also see that the "cave paintings" in the trailer were replaced by the stone slab mosaic walls in the actual games

It does make sense that like, the guardians and divine beasts would be dismantled. They (especially the guardians) terrorized Hyrule for quite a while before Link woke up, and I'm sure people wouldn't be comfortable having them around.
I'm still a bit confused about the shrines and towers too. The popular theory is that they went back underground, but it'd be neat if you could find them in the depths, now defunct.
I have no problem with the lack of Sheikah tech, but a simple explanation, even just 1 sentence from Purah at the beginning, would have been nice to see

Kass: I'd suspect that given he's a bird of travel, he'd heard about the sandstorm in Gerudo, the lightning storm over Necluda, the sludge in Zora's Domain, and the weird stuff happening in Goron City. Combined with the storm over Rito Village, he decided to get his wife and kids, pack up shop, and get the heck out of town for a bit. He knows Link is fully trained to handle whatever this crap is gonna be and he wants no part of it. Besides, that upstart pelican from the newspaper seemed to be all too keen to fly around, let him have it.
Sheikah tech: the leading theories are either a) that the towers and shrines retracted back into the ground and the Divine Beasts deactivated, since we know that they were designed only to raise up in the presence of the Calamity. What we can't explain yet is where the Beasts went, because even deactivated (Zelda mentions Vah Ruta stopped working at the end of BotW), they would surely be still where they were left. That leads to b) Zelda ordered them to be dismantled, to prevent them being used by the Calamity when it rose again. Or the third theory c) is that the four shrines on the Great Plateau all sit in the same spot where the chasms are now, suggesting they fell in - but that doesn't explain the rest of them disappearing.
*BELOW BE SPOILERS - CONTINUE AT OWN RISK!*
The Triforce: My theory is that the Triforce isn't present in the game because Ganondorf doesn't have his piece it when he attacked Rauru. He doesn't have the Triforce of Power, but he takes and corrupts a Secret Stone, the which means the Triforce itself is intact - as we all know, the Triforce splits itself apart any time someone without balance or purity touches it, and that results in the pieces going to Link, Zelda, and Ganondorf. If he doesn't have his piece, neither do the other two. That's why Zelda was missing her Sealing Power for BotW until the very end - no Triforce of Wisdom because the whole thing was still intact and chilling in the Light Realm or wherever it likes to be these days.

I think, because I began my gaming life with the original Final Fantasy in 1991, and have been a fan of the series since, that I do not need anything from a previous title. Enemies, Moogles, Chocobos, and certain NPC names (Cid) are used through the titles.....but they are never used the same way.
So for me.....absolutely nothing is missing from the game. And there is a Guardian, and Shieka tech in the game. The Guardian is on top of the Shieka lab, and the tech is in the towers and right in front of Purah's door. But my head said it was (kinda) explained that they destroyed the tech as a precaution to Gannon taking it over again.

  • @Astrovite

5:36 Imagine if they'd been secretly deconstructed and whoever took all the parts built one MASSIVE Divine Beast that's been hidden in the depths. You go to the location and awaken it and it rips out from the depths and freely roams and rampages around the kingdom and Link has to chase after and get inside to find a way to stop it. Whilst it's still roaming around Hyrule. It would also tie into the idea of contraptions. Like possibly the Yiga could've been behind it since they're actively trying to build with Zonai devices.
It could be that they Frankenstein the beasts together WITH Zonai parts.
I know that sounds a bit ridiculous but my jaw would drop if we got something like that. To have the most important places of the last game culminate into something truly magnificent.

Great video, my first thought was kass, and then the backstory of what exactly happened to all the shiekah tech between games. I did grow fond of Penn and loved his reference to Kass, but I feel like that was a missed opportunity to have a quest to find him or even just clues of what happened to them. Could’ve just been hidden journal entries describing his own journey. It bothered me he left his children behind.
I wanted an instrument, but I did appreciate the great fairy side quest involving many different instruments that heroes and sages past have played.
I would’ve loved a swimming mechanic akin to that of N64 Majora’s Mask controls, even at a great sacrifice of stamina, would’ve been so smooth.
I didn’t even notice durians were gone until you mentioned it lol 😂 also I think you get a little more height from the pine cones than from the gale? Not sure but seems like a fair trade, just not as convenient as a single button press
Personally, I think the MINish *were* in it…just in a very different form than we’d seen from them. Maybe they just hadn’t shrunk in size yet….or maybe they had grown people-sized? Back me up MINeru, who knows more about their long eared, tail-having, magic and tech wielding (including pilot-able constructs) people than any other? The people who have kept the kinstones-I mean secret stones-that were capable of *fusing* them? More questions about the Zonai than ever. Can’t wait for the theory vids!
