  • Our Snowy River SRT19 caravan is now 8 weeks old and travelled 5000km across Australia on and off Road. I give an honest review inside and out on how it's been and what issues we have had. Are these caravans any good off grid and do they stand up to the harsh Australian conditions, follow us and we will put this van to the test camping around this great country.

Thank-you for your detailed walkthrough and what to pay attention to. When you went to the Bathroom and showed the cracked line, luckily at the top. Normally this happens before the installation

To keep the flyscreens in place you can get some thick cord from spotlight and push it into the gap. It stops the wind from blowing the screen out of the track. You just have to remember to pull it out when you want to shut the window.

Great review. I hope you don't mind but I put a link to this video on the Snowy River owners page. One of the first things I replaced in my van was the batteries, went for 2x300 amp Solar King batteries they have been preforming above expectations for almost 2 years now. I am enjoying your weekly clips keep up the great work. Pitty you missed an overnight at the Craddock Hotel, great free camp and the pub meals are awesome. 😁😁😁😁

With the table hinge, knock the pin back in place then get a hammer and punch or even a bolt if you haven’t got is punch and and squash the ends of the hinge both ends .

I have exactly the same SRT as you. I immediately upgraded the batteries to 150amp each and of a more reputable brand.
A couple of things I found when I did this. The factory batteries were actually 120amp and not 100amp. The other thing I found out there is a dip switch with four switches that determine the types of batteries used and the amperage they carry. Mine had not been set to the type or the amperage that came from the factory. Not being correctly set will effect how efficiently your batteries will charge and by how much. I hope this helps.

@@davidbland1859 Thanks mate, the first ting I did when got the van was check the battery settings, one was in the wrong position. And also did a full reboot on the PM 300
Will be putting some good batteries in when back in Perth in December, these will do for now . Have you done many kms in yours

toilet light is 75% full not 50%, fridge you missed mentioning you use baby locks, why?, no mention of smoke detector issues above the hot plates in that it is not fitted according to installation instructions it is mounted in a "dead zone" contrary to the install instructions ours goes off often when cooking. We love our van but quality control is an issue.

A very thorough review. Thanks guys. We have the exact same van. Recently come back from
    Stanthorpe on our “shakedown” trip.
Do you have an inverter in your van? Did you notice the batteries can’t supply enough power for a toaster? (1000w). Our inverter cut the power due to voltage drop
