Tracy is so different from recent years all star dunkers...he was more relaxed, movement more elegant yet powerful and neatly finished... always a legend!
Damn I wish tmac could have had a injury free career. This guy was awesome, the total package. Everything you want in a player, dunker, mid range, drive to hoop, three point shooter. Seeing this guy play injury free would have been a treat to see.
No they wouldn’t I wish ppl would wake up out they sleep n realize just cuz 2 big names are together don’t mean it’ll work..the last DECADE of bs superteams ain’t show u that? If he had thought a better dunk for the final one it would be better. He had so much elevation and athleticism. He could have pulled of a between the legs dunk too i think
My boy!!! He is to me the most underrated guard, esp 2 guard that the league has ever seen. All other 2 guards(Jordan, Iverson, Kobe, DWade, Vinsanity, Drexler, etc) got their props & respect but T-Mac was always the underdog.
@@wesmillz compare T-Mac best 3 seasons to Wade best 3and get back to me. Wade maintained his greatness longer than T-Mac due to his injuries but T-Mac was a better scorer, a better ball handler, a better passer and had a better post game and both mid-range and outside shot than Wade.
Tracy McGrady will always be my favorite nba player in NBA history. No I’m not saying he’s better thank Jordan, Lebron or Kobe, but T-Mac will always be my guy.
2000-2011 best era in the NBA, so COMPETITIVE, no superteams, everybody playing defense , just remember the all-star game, everybody playing to win. Just think about it, Carter and T-Mac in his prime playing together in Toronto...
Many people say that this Slam Dunk Contest was a Vince Carter show...I remember having a video of the dunk at 3:26 on my computer ("doesn't have to do anything extraordinary..BUT HE DOES!") What a great competition, Carter, McGrady, Francis...definitely in my personal Top 5 of Slam Dunk competitions.
I look at it this way- Vince did put on an epic show, but McGrady/Francis really did well. I could argue they pushed Vince to do what he did that night. They brought out the best in him.
2nd dunk it says he jumped 36". He's 6'8". That means his head should have been at 9'8". His head was dead even or higher than the rim..... 40" at least.
6:36 I thought back then that people were being assholes to McGrady yelling "let's go!" while he was lining up his dunk. I didn't realize until later that that was part of the Jay-Z song that was playing.
CAN ANYBODY PLEASE please tell me what shoes he's wearing in the 2000 dunk contest? Its not kobes or feet-you-wears ok? Its not even a tmac signature shoe. I know because my friend owned a pair in highschool. Its low cut, which was rare for a bball shoe back then
catching the ball in mid air is easier than going up with it. and when you learn when and where to place the ball it's like bread n butter. that is all mcgrady can do and why these dunks will never go down as the best in dunk contest history.
ntwa dumela is not mine. is the nba. they also considered this contest to be one of the greatest of all time because of vince & t-mac who are actually included in top 10 dunkers of all time. these are not my opinion by the way these are statements from nba that i agree with. i think theirs a video of top dunks in dunk contest of all time on youtube. equivalent to top posterizer dunks of all time. i dont know if you seen that one but t-mac was on the list for like 3 different dunks

One of my all time favorite players
Most underrated player in the history of the NBA
- Kandy Soufax - agree , due to multiple injuries maybe
You damn serious underrated? That dude is a hall of famer.
Growing up as kid watching t-mac and yao ming play vs now just isnt the same..
Kobe disagreed - according to him McGrady had one up above all else.. T-Mac was unlucky cuz of injuries.. he couldn’t rise to his ultimate greatness..
@Buzz Belittle even kobe when he got his injury, when he back he’s never the same kobe as we know..
