Mom, you are so cute! I see where Mary gets her good looks and personality. I too use a walker. I started using mine in the house at age 50, I'm 55 now. I really wish my walker put me in the upright position. Posture is so important, for everything! My walker is large, like your new one. I'm 5'2" and about 130 lbs. I love the wide seat! I am fortunate in that we built a home with a wheelchair in mind. Our halls and doorways are a 3' wide opening. I can go anywhere in the house with this thing. I think, after watching this, I need to look into an upright walker or an attachment for mine. Thank you for the practical tips.

Walkers are sooo important! Thank you and your mom for doing this. Safety is a very important when it comes to walkers. Last week I took my father (92) to his heart doctor. As we were leaving, he sd he felt like he was going to passout. I got him to sit down on his walker, and went back into the office to get a nurse. The nurse tried to push him into the office (with him sitting on the walker) and when she was trying to push the walker over the door jam, the walker collapsed, and my father fell back and hit his head on the hard floor. Of course I took him to er and had all the necessary tests done. He was fine but this could have been a lot worse. The walker was not either one of your mother's. It is the one commonly seen at grocery stores and doctors' offices. The walkers are not meant to use as wheel chairs. Much needed info for anyone caring for an older parent.

Oh my goodness...Im relieved to hear your dad was OK! Won't lie that made me gasp so I can't imagine what you went through in that moment watching that happen and not being able to stop it. I think I will go and see if moms will roll with her in it like that because you are right they are not meant to be wheelchairs but with us at our age it's impossible for us to move them any other way! Thank you for sharing this with us!
I’m in my early 40’s and I use a walker. This is a nice one. I’m impressed. It’s a bummer they didn’t send the correct one that is all terrain. I bet the all terrain would be great for the back yard. Thank you for taking the time to do this video with your mama.

So good to see your mom & being able to live independently is such a blessing for her. I lost my mom last Sept. she was 88. She had been in assisted living for 6 years because of dementia. She called her walker her horse. I miss talking to her every day. 🥰

Oh, I really do love your mom!! My mom is 81 and has some mobility problems, but not too bad. She has 1 hip replacement and some significant arthritis. She's been using the triangular shaped walker they had for my dad because she recently hurt her knee in physical therapy. He passed away 10 years ago,, so probably time to get a new one.. Her mobile home is open concept but has 4 good steps to get in or out, so we'll eventually need to put in a ramp for her. PS, my mom has the same problem as yours with the paper skin and bruising (made worse by blood thinner). Our rheumatologist (we both see same one) told her to start putting collagen powder in her coffee or tea twice a day and use Aquaphor on her arms to help with that. We'll have to wait and see how much that helps.
Oh yes my mom uses the stuff called bio oil and you can get it at Ulta it mends her right up!!

Your Mom is just precious, Mary! What a wonderful, comprehensive review of a product that is certainly a popular health care aid for those of us in our current age group. If it is something we don't yet need, we may have parents, and older relatives who could benefit from a walker such as this, presently! Well done to your Mom, missie! It's unfortunate that the new walker wasn't specifically designed for the outdoors like you thought, but hopefully it will work especially well in your sister's home. It was great that your hubbie was able to put the new walker together for your Mom! My parents are still living in their own home. My Mom has severe arthritis (she is 89), and she has recently had to start using a walker in her home, upstairs, due to recent, acute stages of arthritis in her foot, and neck. They also had a chair lift installed last year for Mom to more easily be able to go downstairs to the rec room, the laundry room/bathroom, and the outer basement (to access their freezer, and to go outside through the bottom, basement door).There may come a time when my Dad (he is 85) will benefit from the chair lift for the stairs, too! My Mom has just acquired a second walker that she can leave right in the car to access when going to her doctors, hair appointments, shopping, etc. Do you have anywhere that can adjust both walkers, Mary? Mom has gone to the home health care department of her local pharmacy to have both of her walkers adjusted for her particular height. I definitely think you have found a lovely correspondent who could be able to share reviews of other important products that allow some of us to remain independent, comfortable, and in our own homes as we grow older! Taking their home from them is just one more thing in a long list of things that happen to older people and its sad to watch happen! Mary my dad enjoyed himself taking a cheap aluminum walker model from Canadian Tire and creating an all terrain walker by welding bike tires onto the front. It kept him enjoying his property out by Lake Labarge in the Yukon for several more years. I don’t have diagrams but he basically welded the bike wheels instead of the little front wheels. The back frame didn’t have wheels which dad liked so it was steady when he stopped somewhere. It was super lightweight. He built a little workbench on the seat. I don’t know if any of that might help if Shy Guy wants to McGyver a cheap basic model.

@@GlitzyFritzy sadly I didn’t get one but it gave him a lot of joy. I used to tease him about mounting gun sights on and a frame for his rifle for hunting.

I help take care of Senior neighbors for years… and just last week one of my dreaded experiences happened, the friend I was helping care for her mother fell while trying to get back into her wheelchair. Thank God I had her all the way down so that I controlled how she landed, but falling iof any type is certainly not what we want to happen at all.

My mom died 26 years ago on the 16th of this month. I still miss her so much. Your mom reminded me so much of my mom. Mom was 5'1" and had a calm relaxed way about her much like your mom is in this video. It felt warm and comforting to just listen to your mom talk. I will say I was on pins and needles when she was trying the walker outside. I was tense until she got back in the house. She was very clear about the pros and cons of the new walker. It was very helpful. This company better stand up and take notice of your mom's review. Revising some things could make it better. Let your mom know how great a job she did and that I found this video really interesting. Thanks for sharing your mom with me at this time. It made me feel good. Mom's are pretty beautiful and wonderful women. ❤🥰❤

Mary this was so helpful. I love the height of this walker. My mom is 90 and I recently purchased a lift recliner for her apartment at the assisted living center. What a beautiful, lovely mother you have. She demonstrated the product very accurately and with such grace and articulation. What a beautiful soul.
I own the same device, just literally put it together today. I did want to mention a couple of workarounds for a couple of the issues you were experiencing .
I’m a big guy, 6 foot 340 pounds, 64 years old with severe lower back issues requiring additional back surgeries as well as pending complete left knee replacement. I received this as a gift from my son for Christmas this year. I need the assistance with my posture, the “ Johnny Walker Red” style devise makes me lean hunched over that style walker. Allot to do with my height and weight. This device significantly releases the pressure on my back. Just wanted to give a point of reference.
Arm rest in the way; easily hand loosen the handy knob that adjusts the arm height, by hand, and let the arm come down to their lowest level, no need to tighten them back just yet. That will elevate the “scrunched” in feeling that your mom commented about. That will remedy that issue. Then when ready to stand, simply reverse the process, and tighten the same knob to lock the arm rests back in place. Sounds way more involved than it actually is.
Width issues; When entering narrower spaces, I simply pull up on the seat handle, pulling up slightly will narrow the footprint significantly, narrowing the width to what ever width space I’m trying to navigate, navigate that area, once clear of that narrow area, simply lean down on the seat and it will lock back into place.
I think that you’ve already mentioned that the overall issue potentially was that device was simply much too large for your mother to navigate comfortably, as it is obviously intended for a much different application. I also understand that the device that she received is not the one you requested, that one was the all-terrain version and a much smaller device. Likely would’ve been a much different outcome and review if the company has sent the proper device. I just wanted to add a little bit of context about my experience thus far, being completely different from your mother physical size and all.
All that being said, your mother did a spectacular review, she’s a natural, and it was a pleasure to watch. I wish both your mother and yourself all the best…. thank you for sharing.

I THANK YOUR Mom so much for doing this. I have been looking at this walker for exactly the reason she mentioned first--the ability to stand up straight. I wasn't considering the all-terrain model because of expense, but I am now. It might be worth it. In other videos, I noticed that pulling up to slightly fold the walker will get you through narrow doors. You do have to press down on the seat to click in place the walker after the pass through. Your mom is adorable! I have spinal stenosis and neuropathy and poor circulation in my legs and I wish I had seen this video before buying a rollator. Mine fits in my doorways but my house is newer and the doorways are wider. The problem I have with mine is the seat keeps me from standing upright, I find I am leaning forward to walk. Also, your mom is right about the cables catching on things and when sitting my shoulders are squeezed by the armrests. It is, however, very maneuverable in tight spaces. There are many companies making these rollators and mine is not the same as your mom's. I like your mom's better because she can stand upright and that is very good for people like us. Thank you and your mom for showing this video and I hope my comments help others to know now what to look for in a rollator.

This will be very useful information for me in the future. Tell MOM thank you! I hope I can still move that well and think that clearly when I’m her age. I’m 62 and I don’t articulate that well sometimes now. She made getting older look better!
I think the company should send her the correct one for home use since she did do this video. That bending over a walker isn’t good for anyone! When you’re already in pain, gripping a walker hurts your hands, shoulders and neck. Much love to all! God bless!

I actually enjoyed this video. After all my treatments something happened to one of my feet. I went to several doctors that didn’t know what caused it or how to fix the problem.at tjiis point I. An no Lon get walk without leaning on a walker. I have the shorter walker like your mom but, was always curious about the new style. It is so wide that ai couldn’t use it in my house. Now I know. Thank You.
I'm sorry to hear about your foot Carol...my mom also has one foot that is messed up. They do have other styles that are not this wide so hopefully something they have works for you. I how the shorter ones don't help other parts of your body!
