This has to be my longest soundtrack recreation yet, about 8 hours of work went into this! I'd be really greatful if you could leave a like/comment if you enjoyed it. As for the episode, another masterclass on every level. Stay tuned for part 2!
I love how this soundtrack isn't exactly triumphant. The rhythm and drums constantly creates a very stressful beat that convey the sense of upcoming horror very very well. The swelling choir is mournful showing how Rhaenys never really expected to come out of this alive. There's no real rage, triumph, or what most would consider a sense of epic. It's stressful, tense and mournful which speaks very very loudoy of the rest of the dance. Very good soundtrack that I think lays out the theme of what the rest of the series will be: the death of a house and the extinction of its dragons
@@onialex64 well in the very same episode we are told about “80 years of peace” right? Meyles didn’t fight the step stones conflict either. It doesn’t matter if you go by show or book lore/logic, there is no evidence of Meleys and Rhaenys entering battle before. This was a good episode, the battle was epic, and the dialogue in question was cute (although it made me laugh because it’s just untrue).

@SpookyGhostGoku she could have fled if she wanted too 100%. Meleys is the fastest dragon currently alive in the show. Guess she felt guilty about not "ending" the war sooner. Idk I have some gripes with this show adaption...but this battle was more good than bad imo.
Fantastic! The deep and mournful cello leading up to the battle. Soon as Rhaenys volunteers to meet Cole it begins. Ramin is a genius, and thank you for posting this!
While the usual Targaryen themes give us hope and that mystical , magical feeling, and fill us with the energy to go conquer something, this masterpiece gave me the sense of utter thrill with a sense of a great impending doom. Perfect, as this is a war of complete annihilation. The Dance of the Dragons. The war of Fire and Blood.
That is exactly Ramin's arrangement. It's the inverse Daenerys Targaryen theme. Because dragons are rising to glory with her theme (now the targaryen theme) this song is the fall of the targaryens...the arrangement is genius

The combination of the shot of Rhaenys telling Meleys to go in for the attack again, the slow somber variation of the Targaryen Theme building up to to this beautiful part with Meleys flying back was just everything. The whole score for Rooks Rest is amazing but for me 'The Fall' followed by 'Vhagar Soars' is just absolutely incredible. The violin in 'The Fall' makes the death of Rhaenys & Meleys so impactful, just pure sadness followed by the deep and ominous powerful brass section in 'Vhagar Soars'. Brilliant music :)

Some thoughts on dragon tactics: I personally would start up high and dive on opponents, trying to catch them by surprise and possibly even striking out of the sun like a fighter plane. However, dragon v dragon combat hasn't happened for hundreds of years, presumably the Valyrians wrote treatises on such matters, but these books are long gone. The Blacks haven't deploy their assets carefully and are playing the consequences, but throughout westeros history dragon just equals win, so training dragons to fight as a group, flying formation cover each other's six ect has never been even considered. They are going to have to learn this lesson quickly. The only one schooled in dragon fighting tactics tactics is not a human but Vhagar.
