Kay, my condolences to you regarding the loss of your father. I was also a Daddy’s girl. He passed in 2018 and it broke me. Joe Biden actually said something at John McCain’s funeral to his children that really touched me. He said - and I’m paraphrasing: “You didn’t have him for as long as you wanted; but you got from him everything you need.” Those words comforted me, and I hope they do the same for you.
1984 was a vibe. I was eight, loved Barbie, loved Lionel Richie, Culture Club, Wham!, etc; wanted to be Mary Lou Retton, and got to be the narrator of the class thanksgiving play 😂 I also remember the challenger accident, where my catholic school just turned off the TVs and went on like nothing happened while us kids needed trauma therapy. Adults in the 80s were different than we are now.
I was a student at Lannon Elementary School, and I vividly remember the day we all gathered in the library to watch the space shuttle launch. They had rolled a TV in on a cart for us to watch together. When the shuttle tragically exploded, I recall turning around and seeing all the teachers in tears. They quickly turned off the TV and quietly ushered us back to our classrooms. What stands out most is that no one talked to us about what we had just witnessed.
Kay, you are such an inspiration to us. Crying is okay! I lost my Dad in 1978 to lung cancer (he was 50), and I have moments throughout the years when I'm overwhelmed because I miss him so much. My Dad was one of the good guys, too. I was 24 when Dad passed. It was rough! Keep doing you, little sister. ❤️ 💙 💜 By the way, you look like you might be 32, but definitely not 40! 😊
Hey Kay! Thanks for sharing about your Dad. Mine has been sick for a while now, and just entered hospice. I’m in my late 20s and this has really affected my career and mental heath. It’s nice to see someone else process their grief with a good sense of humor 💜
"This is not OnlyFeet" has slayed me! Love it! And OMFG We were doing the EXACT SAME THING on the Challenger day. I was all about the game shows when I was a kid as it was.
Eating with a tiny spoon or a smaller spoon is actually a tip a lot of professionals give those who diet. It savours the food, in the sense that you have more "mouthfuls" of said food because the portions you're taking in are smaller. But to our mind, it feels like a lot more of a portion.
Loving these talking vlogs!! I thought you were crying when they quoted you a price at the dealership!X!X. Your dad sounds wonderful. You were very lucky to have such a wonderful bond with him.
Hello Kay, yes I do remember 1984. I was a very young adult and I do remember that 1984 feeling. It was awesome! love, love, love your channels! Go ahead take a break. I'll be here when you return.
Sorry for your loss K. Losing a love one is somthing you never get over because as you go through life either you are remembering them or wishing they were there. Theres no getting around it. You were blessed to have a dad. Theres a popular saying, you can’t miss what you never had, but that’s not true, I miss having a Dad every day and I’m 64. Forge ahead. Much Love.
I don't remember 1984 but that was the year my husband and I were both born. With that said, those songs do remind me of how my great uncle would bring us kids to the mall as soon as they opened so he could walk some laps and give our parents a break, while we played and then he took us out to hardees for breakfast once they opened. Even though I have very early memories that are clear, most of my memory of earth shattering news stories don't start until around the time baby jessica fell down the well. I'm glad that the car issue was your water pump and nothing more expensive than that. I had a water pump go out on one of my previous cars (an older chevy), and I noticed when I was coming home late one night and my temperature gauge was doing funny stuff and was all over the place. With that car, the weird thing about 90's GM was that the HVAC wasn't giving me much issue at all even if the apocalypse was happening under the hood. They were strange like that. Like when my head gasket was blown, it was still putting out cold air in the summer, strangely. Whereas the 2000's Chrysler my husband had for a number of years, the HVAC messing up was always the very very first sign of all trouble on that car. Each and every single time, too. We recently got a new car last year (a 2023 Toyota) and while expensive, these new cars are so incredibly fancy. It's so weird to get into a new car and not have to fix some jank broken thing.
Mary Janes from stride-rite, now that takes me back, viva la 80’s! In regards to your dad, two years is not that long. Grief takes time… a lot of time. This past 10/14 was the 11th anniversary of my mom‘s passing. She died just 1 year after my dad. I still miss them both so much, but with a few less tears and a few more smiles these days. I inherited my dad’s car and it broke my heart when I finally sold it. It still smelled like him. PS. I drive a 2013 Lexus RX. Before that I drove a 2004 Lexus RX they truly are the best car! 😊
Hi Kay. Sorry for your loss. I lost my dad in 2019 and it still feels raw. I haven’t fully grieved and have moments of extreme sadness. Someone advised me once to talk to him directly whenever I feel like crying. So that’s what I do now and I’d like to think that he can hear me. It’s okay to be sad and to cry occasionally. Sending a hug from one daddy’s girl to another.🤗
Oh, i am an 80s girl! The music was and still is a vibe! I was in a government class at the university of maryland in 1986 when the challenger exploded. It was 12:30. The professor cane in and told us and we were just stunned for a few minutes and then we went on with class. So weird...
Thanks for making me laugh out loud again! I got over my arachnophobia by going for a ride on Thunder Mountain Railroad in Disneyland, CA, many years ago. I had never been on a roller coaster (I know Thunder is teensy) before, that one really shook being scared of spiders out of me! We have wonderful spiders here in South Africa, that look like ghostly shadows of tarantulas!!! They are referred to as rain spiders here...they tend to look for shelter inside homes when the rains come in summer. And they love to bungie off ceilings...can be startling!
The bit about exposure therapy is so real. Had to participate in some student-run experiments for my Psych 101 class and I ended up qualifying for the arachnophobia experiment... it was me versus a tarantula in an empty fish tank. Took me standing there, hand pressed to the bottom of the tank, just watching the tarantula being unflinching to understand that it had no qualms with me if I left it alone. They really have no interest or reason to target you... unlike mosquitos...
I've always thought character shoes were cute. I think the shoes are super cute! And you'll have to let us know how they feel after extended use! I will have to see if they make those in my yeti size (I'm 5'10" and wear size 11 in women's). (they do!!) I'm so glad you had such a great relationship with your dad! He sounds like an amazing guy! Hugs. "I forget the name of the black widow you don't want to be bit by" 🤣
One of my favourite things to do is watch a spider weave its web, fascinates me every time! (& how fast & efficient they are!) I also like to eat (certain) things with a tiny spoon lol e.g. cereal = normal spoon, ice cream = tiny spoon 🤣
Just sending you hugs because I've also lost my car guy/good guy dad. I think of him every time I take my car in, so I feel you big time. Sending you all the love.💕
Thank you little sister . I still miss my Dad pretty sharply some days , it's a background noise almost every day. I'm super interested in the t shirt you were wearing there at the end.
It’s mostly a joke for those who sing a lot of choral music. A lot of roman ordinary text has been set by many times and Laudamus Te, Benedicimus Te, Adoramus Te etc. Syllable “mus” sounds like “Moose”. Choral conductors always laugh at this shirt lol
So sorry for your loss, kay. I remember the episide when you went thru his car trunk and found little treasures. I can relate. I lost my dad under the same circumstances 20 years ago (alzheimers). Like yours, my dad was a good man. And he introduced me to classical music. It was always playing in our home. The music was the ladt thing to go, memory-wise until he didn't remember how to put his clarinet together. But up til then we played duets together. Those memories of your dad will stick with you and will be more a comfort than sadness, at least i hope that for you.
Oh, Kay. We're seldom told that grief/mourning can feel worse in the second year-plus, as the initial shock wears off and we adjust to our new reality...we might feel it more or in different ways. I'm not being prescriptive because everyone's experience is different, however, we never get over it rather we learn to live with it. Thanks for your honesty in the moment. Touching to hear that your car was your dad's. (Had to stop mid-video to send this message of support and understanding, as best we can know what someone else is feeling.) As for spiders, I love and admire their artistry outdoors and have come to a peaceful coexistence with them indoors, knowing that they're keeping other things I don't want to see in check. Loving Vlogtober.
YES! 1984 was a very specific vibe! (...Coupled with me being 15 and in the massive throes of adolescence...) Now I'm off to hunt for those shoes - they look perfect for my achy duck feet!
Hello Kay, thank you for sharing your heart and your thoughts. I follow you on your other channel as well. I want to offer you my sincere on the lost of your dad. I lost my dad this July to cancer, and I am still reeling. My mom has Alzheimer’s, and I am caring for her through this horrible disease. I feel your pain with loosing your dad. I am in the early stages of grief and miss my dad so much. My husband reminds me how much of how my dad was an amazing “dude”. Hearing those words made me connect to what you are saying. My dad was in the military as well. Your courage of what you shared on your organizing channel inspired me. I wanted to send you encouragement and let you know you are not alone. ❤
My Dad was a really good dude, too. We'll always miss them. ❤ As a very young school librarian when the Challenger exploded, I think we teachers were so traumatized we didn't know what to say. We'd lost one of our own. Sorry we didn't handle it very well. 😢
I love all of your platforms. I came from the AC days, and I realized how much we have in common, and your content is so relatable. I’ve started my own channel, and even though I’m still trying to find my groove, I decided to finally go for it. I’m like you, my car is a 2007, and I will drive her until the wheels fall off. 😂
I love hearing about your saga into liking spiders. We have a lot of black widows in my area so I get a little nervous when I see a potential one. But there's so many cool spiders too! My recent favorite is the magnolia green jumper (Lyssomanes viridis). They are such a cute green color!
October 22nd is my fathers birthday. I had to miss going to his house to celebrate because of my work. He is terminally ill and I don't know if that was the last birthday he is going to have. I hate my job sometimes. I did call him and said happy birthday, but I would of rather seen him in person. Thank you for the video. I love spiders by the way.
So glad your car issue was a water pump and not something much more serious. As a Daddy’s girl, I get it. I was only 5 when my Dad passed but he was my hero and I loved the way his face would light up when he saw me. He was also a car guy, he owned a service station and worked hard. I grew up knowing about cars from all the lessons he taught my mom about caring for cars such as everything to check before a road trip. I still carry certain things in my car because my Daddy recommended it. I still miss him and my mom too who passed when I was 22. Oh the Challenger explosion, I was at work and we had a tv wheeled into the office so we could watch it. Awful!! You remaking the bed, had to laugh as that is me too!! At least they try and mean well! 😂 Spiders.. in the garden I am happy to see most of them and try not to disturb them or their webs. I encourage them to stick around. But if they find their way in the house.. no no no!! Can’t do it. Thanks for another great vlog Kay! Been having some rough days so it is so nice to sit down and see what you’re up to. It’s like chatting with a friend.🩷
Lol! I literally just added 3 types of life strides to my Amazon cart 2 days ago. Maybe you mentioned them and I looked them up? I dunno. Super cute, great little bit of heel height. I'm 5'4" with a size 10-11, depending on brand. Love these and need to decide which I want first.
I do have shoes from life strides brand, and they very comfortable. The brand is also in Kohl’s as well. 💯 they do look like character shoes, and they are 😎 on you. 🥰 outfit. 😊 🎶. 🥹 about your father. 💯 about 1984, and yes I remember the 1980s very well. ❤ and miss the 80s. Jamming to the 🎶 you use while making the 🛌. It’s giving me 80s video game vibes. I hope all goes well with your car.
Learned you had this channel from your "taking a pause" video on OS. I love the brown eyeglasses on you ALOT! I see the difference between your videos between the channels. On OS, I never saw you as "a friend" on that channel, more like a professional or instructor. I can see a "heavier" version of your personality over there....I think Its because you are trying to produce something that your clients, audience, and brands would like. And that's hard and heavy and gives the feel like it's your 'job." But this channel, I see the "lightness" in your vibe and this Kay - we would TOTALLY be friends. I love your personality :) You are so special and very authentic....thanks for sharing your life with US....I look forward to viewing your vids, as this is my first one. I'm afraid of spiders, worms and bugs...anything smaller than a bunny is not my vibe.
Your feet had to hold up all that personality! After all, you ARE a character! LOL!!! Reminds me of Miss Honey (Matilda). Not you addressing the foot fettish people! I'm dying!!! Z-snap -- you have to stop. I remember watching the Challenger launch with my third grade class and seeing that one errant piece go flying off to the right like a shooting star, trying to understand what we had just seen. Sally Ride (insert deep sigh). Tiny sppon makes whatever seem like a treat, AND makes it seem like more. You are the embodiment of my alter-ego. You did NOT imitate Michigan J. Frog. No one else I know (Okay, I don't actually know you) would do that.
I have similar shoes and I think they are stage shoes!😂😂😂 but I love them! I, too, am trying to face my arachnophobia. BUT! A neighbor has an 8 ft wide tarantula in their yard on my daily walk route and now I am avoiding.😢 Omg I was in 4th grade when the Challenger exploded. Every class had an a/v cart and we were crowded into our rooms! When it exploded we were so confused and upset! Then my teacher asked us to write about how we felt, and had the nerve to admonish us for using the word sad. I am double traumatized for life. “hello my baby, hello my hunny!” 😂😂😂 It’s the O+ blood that attracts mosquitos…
It is kind of a chorus joke. A lot of the music we sing is catholic masses set to music. Laudamus Te, Benedicimus Te…except where the “mus” syllable is, there is a little moose 🫎 LOL. Choral musicians always laugh at that shirt 😂
Noted! A couple of things, the auto generated closed captions did a 97% job at transcribing that part of the video if you had trouble hearing. I have an iPhone mic but I don't always remember to bring it. Timestamps have been added. Not everyone likes bugs but they are valuable and important parts of our ecosystem...even the scary ones.

Thats so beautiful. xx
I came for the animal crossing content and stay for the Kay vibes.
1984 was a vibe. I was eight, loved Barbie, loved Lionel Richie, Culture Club, Wham!, etc; wanted to be Mary Lou Retton, and got to be the narrator of the class thanksgiving play 😂
I also remember the challenger accident, where my catholic school just turned off the TVs and went on like nothing happened while us kids needed trauma therapy. Adults in the 80s were different than we are now.
Culture Club was IT. I was obsessed! 😂
💯 80s was a vibe.

And OMFG We were doing the EXACT SAME THING on the Challenger day. I was all about the game shows when I was a kid as it was.
This sweet, touching, and funny video was a wild ride from beginning to end, and I loved all of it!! 💚
Kay my Dad passed away 53 years ago and I still miss him. Such a good Papi. I was an only child and his world was his little girl. I understand.
❤ those brown glasses. The shoes are cute and look comfortable
Lifestride has been around for years. They were all about comfort and originally very old lady, but have gone more fashion, hope they are comfortable.
Love love love this vlog! Love all the tidbits and thinking back to the 80s. I laughed, I cried...right along with you. Thank you 💕
Me too. ❤

❤Huge hug. My Dad was a great guy too. The church was packed. Sending a hug whenever you need it as I continue to enjoy Vlogtober ♥
"this is not OnlyFeet" 😂😂
I love your character shoes! They make me want to dance 🕺
Mary Janes from stride-rite, now that takes me back, viva la 80’s! In regards to your dad, two years is not that long. Grief takes time… a lot of time. I loved having an orb weaver take up residence near our steps. Such a pretty spider and a really cool zipper web design
I’m so jealous you had one of those zipper spiders! Those are so beautiful 😭

Yah, I was trying to read all the sayings. I figured out “ moose”with the Latin part. Perhaps a souvenir from the summer opera gig?
It’s mostly a joke for those who sing a lot of choral music. A lot of roman ordinary text has been set by many times and Laudamus Te, Benedicimus Te, Adoramus Te etc. Syllable “mus” sounds like “Moose”. Choral conductors always laugh at this shirt lol

Not the graffiti on the church wall 🤣🤣

SO CUTE, what a steal! have you seen Wydr Brand shoes
I have character shoes from my local talent show days.
Super Cute Outfit of the Day!
Those shoes are extremely cute!
YOU are a good Dude❣️
Love the shoes 😊
Enjoyed the vlog and ordered those shoes 👍
Hugs!
BUT! A neighbor has an 8 ft wide tarantula in their yard on my daily walk route and now I am avoiding.😢
Omg I was in 4th grade when the Challenger exploded. Every class had an a/v cart and we were crowded into our rooms! When it exploded we were so confused and upset! Then my teacher asked us to write about how we felt, and had the nerve to admonish us for using the word sad. I am double traumatized for life.
“hello my baby, hello my hunny!” 😂😂😂
It’s the O+ blood that attracts mosquitos…
I hear your blood type make mosquitos love you more. I’m type o and they bite me up!
What does your T-shirt say? The brown one you were wearing while talking about spiders?
It is kind of a chorus joke. A lot of the music we sing is catholic masses set to music. Laudamus Te, Benedicimus Te…except where the “mus” syllable is, there is a little moose 🫎 LOL. Choral musicians always laugh at that shirt 😂
I’m learning to respect spiders but I draw the line at black widows in my house. No no no

Dancing shoes…💃🕺. Make use of them. Break a leg and have fun. Wish
I was there to enjoy the program.

Sorry Kay, I would not be touching that spider book!
I’m only 5 minutes into this video…. but now why do I think a secret pay-walled fourth channel will suddenly appear specifically for Kay’s feet? 🧐
😂😂😂 I choked a little laughing at this😂
LOL!!!!!!
Lexis dealership repairs are very expensive. Find a reputable independent auto repair shop and save yourself a lot of money.
Next time you focus on bugs, could you do a time stamp? Next time you want to whisper could you use a mic? Otherwise, nice video.
