I’m not a strong runner, but I’m determined.. I ship to ft sill next week. From what I’m hearing even if you’re not great at PT, by the end you’ll be more than capable of doing well on the ACFT. I have so many questions but I feel like it’s one of those things I just have to go in and experience it and learn as I go, probably just nerves kicking in

Hey man, just read everything thoroughly and ask as many questions as you need. Don't let them trick you into an mos you don't want homie. They are there to help you join but, keep in mind, they also need to make certain quotas too. Kinda like a salesman. So just stick to your guns and don't be afraid to push for something specific. Also, if you can't get your number one job, look for something in the same field, then train for that while in AIT. You can always respec after your contract is done.
My son will be done by then. He calls sometimes and is in white phase currently. He still even with all the smoking likes it. Just enjoy the experiences. Greetings from germany

Thanks for all the advise! I go to Ft. Jackson within the month. Is PT in yellow phase intense? I’m trying to physically prepare as much as possible. Is it long or like the morning PT that happens everyday throughout BCT
No it’s really not. It’s an easy phase, but you just get smoked relentlessly. The yellow phase is all classroom stuff about basic things you should know in the army. And then a lot of smoke sessions and such
Thinking about joining, probably would regret not joining later. But I’m not fit and probably would not last; 5’11 280 lb need to lose some major weight. I’ve been working on it 293 2 months ago. I’ve tried recommended exercises but I need easy varieties to be easier to do the regular stuff.
I'm 30 and leaving August 9th. Regrets are hard things to live with, which is why I'm joining. You won't regret joining. And let's say you do regret joining...everything is temporary, including the contract. Go national guard if you dont want to leave home. Longer contract but only a weekend a month with a deployment ever 3yrs ish. Keep working out dude! Cardio and polymetric's. I hope this helps👌

this is so funny because i went to Fort Sill and we did the tower in Red phase! i was left handed so i was the first to go... and i had to do it twice because i got stuck ! hurt like hell man
I lived in Louisiana my whole life and whenever we had hurricanes or really bad warning we would get mre’s tbh they aren’t that bad my favorite was ratatouille

I just graduated osut BCT AIT last week. Fort Leanord Wood. They never taught face paint. They taught everything else though

Easiest way is to track your calories and make sure you're consistently on a caloric deficit.
