The idea for plastic zip ties appears to be good, although it seems that it’s a one use only option. The plastic is going to clog the feeder hole. Perhaps this wouldn’t be an issue, maybe it releases when reheated later, allowing for later use. Glue sticks, after all do this.
I’m intrigued by the idea. I guess a $6 glue gun is better replaced if it repairs something that otherwise would be much more expensive to repair/replace.

I'm sure you can melt out the plastic tie resideue out from the gun with a chemical or something..I like the 502 glue that melts foam like cray not sure why he showed that part! sure helps on recycling to reduce it to nothing !

How stupid! You fix leaking plumbing joins with teflon tape.
I think the problem was stripped threads so adding teflon tape wouldn't have helped. My recommendation, don't cross thread or overtight the fitting from the beginning, that way you won't have to repair it.
