I bought a Magellan insulated Parka at academy sports last year and I used academy's base layers underneath it and I stayed totally and completely warm. it was around 30° every day I hunted I could not believe how good that stuff works so I went and bought a new set of bib overalls and a new parka in REALTREE APX camo this year that stuff is excellent especially for the price you pay a hunter don’t have to pay big bucks for good insulated camo gear. That is a mind game. that company’s play on people. that you got to have this high dollar stuff in order to stay warm and a lot of people fall for it. Take it from me. You don’t need it especially Sika It’s about four times the price of what it should be.
@theeverydaybowhunter it was the same day I fell in love with Huntworth and their price point in comparison. I have become a big fan...and I have my fair share of Sitka gear...that is saying something
This really depends on your goals with it. If you have the money I would stick with what you have. My brother always says the Stratus Bibs are the best thing he owns lol. But, if you are looking to save and have the same features with a little less quality fit, then return them. Remember, the Elkins jacket is almost identical to the Stratus, but the Stratus bibs are slightly better. The reason I say that is because of how they are designed, not the wind proofing, etc. On another note, remember these are mid season items that work down to mid-30’s with a good base layer. The Huntworth Saskatoon, while it doesn’t offer bibs, is warmer than both of those and one of my favorites. Huntworth stuff all have a regular fit as compared to the Sitka more cut and tapered one. I hope all this helps. It’s a tough choice for sure.
huntworth all day, unless you are trying to impress your buddies in camp. but i find it more impressive to have the same stuff they have for way less money
Sitka has a lifetime warranty and Huntworth has a 1 year warranty. Both cover if something happens to the garment that is related to the workmanship of the product. Seams rip, zippers break, etc.
Likely made at the same contract Chinese factory. Companies that offshore to China, Vietnam, Bangladesh, etc…. Aren’t going to some mom and pop operation. They go to large manufacturers and gain the efficiency. You may get options on components (zippers, material) that go into your run and don’t vary the process and depending on price may also get more QA. After that, it is all marketing.
Of the top of my head, if I remember correctly, the Sitka stuff is made in Vietnam and Huntworth is made in China. At least for these 2 specific pieces.
@@theeverydaybowhunter Perhaps. The supply chain is quite an intertwined thing over there. Sitka lists 19 different manufacturing partners in their disclosures. Vast Apparel (Vietnam and Cambodia) is one, and some others that are in China and PI. Couldn’t find much on Huntworth (NTA Enterprises) other than the tag in one of mine that shows China. Was just trying to see if there was a valid reason for the similarity other than copying each other. But then again, I guess there is a limit to how much you can vary the design.
@@corporalpunish6089 yeah, I actually thought the same thing at one point. When I talked to Huntworth about it they told me I was the first one who they saw make that kind of comparison.
I change the camo I am wearing depending on where I am hunting. You have to look at that first. For treestand hunting, the Elevated II is still the best. Ground hunting, especially in the fall here in PA, the subalpine is much better.
Two options to get ripped off on. I think for that price you could buy multiple layers of wool. I say buy the wool and save the extra cash for the multiple boxs of ammo you will need to mag dump .308 out of your customized AR-10 and its $3000 scope.
The two pairs of Huntworth pants that I own have an abnormally long crotch that does not fit well at all. Quality is really decent for the price. I love my Sitka gear. I would say, get what you can afford. I own both.
I have the same issue with my Huntworth Durham Lightweight Pants. I don’t have that issue with the Elkins or Saskatoon pants I have. I love my Sitka gear too and agree, but for some people it’s just not feasible. 😎
@@theeverydaybowhunter I concur! If you can get a Sitka Pro account, that certainly helps. I bought most of mine through EuroOptic. That saved me a ton.
U can kill a monster buck with the Elkins just like the Stratus and the deer wont notice the difference except ur wallet. Sitka overpriced, over rated and over everything
Wow! Wish I had seen this before purchasing the stratus jacket.

Thanks Dan! You obviously remember the day when I discovered this up at camp. It is crazy how close the two are.

@@danielzeamer3343 yes it does.
So in your opinion, should I return the $700 stratus bibs and jacket to buy the huntsworth gear?

@@theeverydaybowhunter thank you. I ordered the Sakatoon jacket and pants. I’ll compare them to the Sitka gear to see which I like better.
