Random to see this popup in my suggested. My ancestor came to the New Haven Colony in the 1630s from England. We still bear the same surname. Directly traced that side of the family back to New Haven before his grandkids moved to the Frontier of PA later on.

Great Stuff. Can you talk about Thomas Hooker and my relative Samuel Stone. They came over on the Griffin and eventually founded Hartford. Samuel was the nephew of Simon and Gregory Stone who came over in 1635. I’m a Simon and we owned Mt.Auburn Cemetsry. Samuel was a participant in the Pequot wars and was a judge in the Hartford Witch trials which pre dated Salem

Again, my first ancestor, George Pardee, arrived in 1644, and I have written a novel based on his life. I studied and included much of what is set out here. Thank you for screening.

I love your videos. I am a direct decedent of Anne Eaton, through Thomas Yale. I am also a descendent of Captain Nathaniel Turner of the ghost ship. I especially enjoy learning about the anthropological realities of these early American societies. I also appreciate the discussion about the legal and structural makeup of early New England.

I wonder what Eaton & Davenport would think of New Haven now?

To my knowledge bewitched beer is usually of better taste, so I suspect the thrall had some other score to settle, although it is certainly also possible that recipes differed and the batch was too far gone.

I lost 2 halves of 2 sets of great-grandparents on the "Ghost Ship of New Haven", one of them being the Captain. His surviving Widow married the surviving Widower of the other half-set of my great-grandparents, after the Ghost Ship was seen, such sighting having confirmed to the people that their Great Ship was gone!
Another of my great-grandfathers was involved with the design & construction of the ship..

A lot of bad things fomented out of New Haven, primarily Yale’s skull and bones fraternity. This has a tendency to draw evil spirits.

My 12th great grandfather was Gov Wm Leete. Our family still carries pride that he, and hence we (cuz people love to lay claim to the accolades of their forbears) were the only ones willing to stand up against the kings tyranny while MA and the others were spineless craven cowards. We had a family reunion years ago on Leetes Island, with Leetes from across the globe.

I think I might be related to John Cotton, but my ancestor was born before him. My most recent with the name was my 11th great grandmother. Frances Elizabeth Cotton
