Anne was truly based! Super episode Eric! Looks like Anne's daughter married John Cole in 1651 and had a family. The resilience of the human spirit, especially in the period you cover, is tremendous and undaunted. The Narragansett Historical Record Magazine of 1882-1883 tells this of Ann Hutchinson: "If Mrs. Ann Hutchinson would not have been banished by those men of deep intent and high resolve, the puritanical sanhedrim of a neighboring colony, men, whom from an overrevernce of the Old Testament, had virtually, but without consciousness thereof, prevented and obstructed the promises, the graces, and the charities of the new, Rhode Island must have had a different founder, a different direction, and a different destiny."
Right now I am reading the book "American Jezebel written by 1 of her greatttt granddaughters. It's all about Anne & wow was she awesome. Most grateful for the history lesson this book led me on.
Same here! I'm a descendent of both her And Mary Barrett. Mary's son Samuel married Anne's granddaughter so you are too! I'm a direct descendant of Samuel and Mary. 😊❤
Anne is my maternal 10x great grandmother and her sister Katherine (who has her own brilliant story) is my paternal 10x great grandmother. Loved this video!!
And, speaking of the Salem witch trials, John and Elizabeth Proctor are my 8th great-grandparents through their son Samuel who was seven years old at the time.
The Hutchinson River pkwy is my nemesis, but I enjoy seeing the sign stating her birth/death, driving north, alittle before the exit for the cross county parkway.
I never heard that the young Susannah Hutchinson taken by the Indians had been impregnated by them. What happened to that child? Was it male or female?
@@theotherstatesofamericahis5212 so Susannah had the child before the age of 12? Why was this not mentioned at the time of her “rescue”, and what is the source of the information Susannah was impregnated and had a child by the age of 11 or 12, whether she was with the Indians for 3 or 4 years?
@ I do and I will. I can feel her presence with me. the strangest thing is finding all of this out after making tremendous life changes and taking a similar path as her…🤯❤️ if Susanna hadn’t been spared I would not exist.
