I met him at the Ataturk Airport in Istanbul on my way back from military service in Turkey in 2006. I told him the whole squad just watched one of his movies the week before in the southeast of Turkey, Tunceli, He was shocked and pleased, he was on his way to Antalya Film Festival with his wife for the movie "the Queen"... It was an awesome experience... what a legend.....

Simply put, I like James Cromwell. Always liked him in movies but since he was never the lead never thought that much about him. He's definitely an aggressive progressive. Can't wait to see him and Jimmy Dore together.

And Trump wants back to the 60s...
Cromwell had such a rich life and so many interesting and sad stories that should teach us to avoid repeating them. Very good interview thanks to Jamie's great talk and Cenk allowing him to speak and not interrupting all the time like many hosts tend to do today.

I don't know why but Cromwell's little anecdote about waiting for a guy name 'Gutto' (don't know if that's spelled correctly) reminds me of the Fargo season 2 episode called Waiting for Dutch which symbolically was referring to Ronald Reagan and part of the second season of Fargo centered around people waiting for a hero who they thought to be Reagan to help make America great again.

Cromwell completely lost me when he said Hollywood is not basically liberal (Progressive), global warming (climate change). Cromwell, if up is not up because you use the same words and poor different meanings in these words, how can we communicate? This is why conservatives & liberals can’t communicate any longer.

Mr Cromwell (I've always wondered if he's descended from the medieval Cromwell Kings of 17th century England... I mean, he certainly has the stature to make such a claim) has been in so many movies I loved -and I guess I still do love them- that I always wanted to imagine that he was a good guy.
Seeing this interview showed how brightly he outshone my expectations. He spoke with eloquence, he spoke with passion and he spoke with purpose. While I generally think it's silly to idolise celebrities because 'reasons', I think this man should be a role model to a populace tending laissez faire...

Great interview. I had no Idea that ‘Green Mile/General’s Daughter’ was such a badass lefty.
At 39:27, the Kucinich/Obama story pissed me off all over again. I was under the naïve impression that Obama didn’t have a Johnson-like arm twisting bone in his spineless body. But, it seems that when he’s dealing with progressives he can be every bit the bully. Imagine if he’d ‘gotten tough’ with republicans and blue dogs instead. I voted for the man both times. I got played, as Cromwell so eloquently put it.
Anyway, amazing conversation. Stay up, both of you.
