Definitely how the gray fox wanted to lift his curse of the gray cowl so he could reunite with his wife, the countess of anvil. I loved that moment when you find out he was doing this great heist for love :)
I like the Agent of Mara quest in Skyrim and I particularly love when you find the long-dead lovers on the ancient battlefield in the Whiterun plains... Ruki travelling far from home to see Fenrig and then they ascend together when you reunite them 🥺
Not a couple, but an unmarked quest in Morrowind has you running errands and doing favors for Khajiit woman named Ahnassi in Pelagiad which eventually leads you to becoming her "special friend" so she says. One of my favorite unmarked quests in the series.
I think it's kinda funny how most games that only have a single "love interest" will have them be a very generic sort of character, typically a blandly attractive human or elf, but Morrowind has a Khajiiti thief.
I really enjoyed the relationship between Karliah and Gallus. In the few moments they had to talk to one another in game, it was clear they cared about each other deeply. And their voice actors (particularly Karliah) did a fantastic job.
The Nightingale was a bard. In traditional RPGs, bards fight with their music and charm people with their music. I fully believe that the Nightingale just charmed Barenziah with his music into falling in love with him, and she didn't actually want to cheat on Symmachus. I fully support your idea of making a separate whole video about Barenziah btw, I love her story too. And it's always a pleasure to see you come out with a new video.
14:57 "I wanna take us back to Morrowind. Now, I've mentioned before that I've *never really finished the game..."* *"COME NEREVAR, COME! Let us do a full playthrough of Morrowind to honor the Sixth House and the Tribe Unmourned!* We shall drive out the mongrel Skyrim casuals of the fanbase and return the *D E E P L O R E* to the franchise!"
Angelika, is this HOW YOU HONOUR THE SIXTH HOUSE AND THE TRIBE UNMOURNED? Come, lay down your Oblivion and Skyrim. And bring Morrowind, we have need of it.
I've personally being trying to actually play Morrowind for years. I had a copy on the Xbox when I was like 6 or something but the game was a little complex. Fast-forward in highschool I bought it and since then for like 10 years I think I've given it a shot every so often but could never get hooked on it because of the combat and slow movement speed and being required to read all the time. The game really requires a level of patience and interest I just didn't have, but I got longer and longer play thoughs in. This time a little over a week ago I finally broke that barrier to entry and have spent most of my time playing, I beat it the morning of the 12th and I gotta say, what a great game. I know everyone who plays it loves it, but I didn't fully understand of course. Morrowind makes me long for less reliance on quest markers, a more immersive fast travel system, a less, "you are the chosen one." and more, "you could be the chosen one if you work at becoming them." type story from the elder scrolls 6. Morrowind feels like a game that truly respects my intelligence and wants me to pay attention to it. I can't just run around and be picking up random quests from people talking on the street that goes into my well organized log of quests, if I choose to ask someone about something it goes into my book and if I forget about it I'll have to flip back a million pages to find it again or more likely, find the person again and ask again. I thoroughly enjoy tes 4 and 5 and Morrowind just gave me so much more to love and get lost in. Wonderful game
Barenziah and Symmachus were the OTP imo. RIP Symmachus :( The two Barenziah series and King Edward convinced me that Marylin Wasserman still is one of the best "in-universe book" writers TES has ever had. The fact she wrote all those foundational texts so well when there was not even a game for her to beta test is incredible. Praise be to Mara!
Haha a romance video and no Lusty Argonian Maid mention? Just kidding. 😛 Also, re the Skyrim quest for Holgeir and Fjori, I like to believe that when you defeat Luah al-Skaven, she is reunited with her husband in the afterlife--thus putting a bow on that story as well. Really awesome video, by the way.
My favourite way to do A Lovely Letter is to tell Camilla that both Sven and Faendal wanted me to give her a fake letter. If they want true love, they gotta do it without lying!
@@sleeplesstimeGo to either Sven or Faendal, then take their fake letter to the other NPC, and when he gives you their own fake letter, pickpocket the second fake letter from them. You can then go to Camilla and give her both of the letters.
I think what I like most about the stories you chose for this video are that they all feel....natural? Like, they feel like stories that could happen without it feeling forced, and that's a detail that makes them just that much more enjoyable.
Thanks for the fun video. Reading "The Real Barenziah" back in Oblivion days, I recall how much I liked the idea of the simple stable boy (Straw) and Barenziah. The two of them adventuring together for survival was more my flavour of romance, although It interests me how I still remember one of her later thoughts about him: "he was a peasant and harboured nothing but peasant dreams". Call me evil, but for what Symmachus did to Straw, I'm very happy for the bad things that happened to him.
Did you know, that you can meet Barenziah in the Tribunal expansion of Morrowind? She has some unique and quite hidden dialogue in regards to the main quest. Such an interesting character.
They are actually scripted to have a whole conversation sitting next to each other outside the gate I think but you require a mod that alters ai behavior for it to even happen.
I still think the greatest lovers in TES are the two guards standing outside Castle Dour. The long, smoldering looks they gave one another scorched the Dragonborn's eyebrows.
This is such an interesting time for elder scrolls fans on TH-cam. We have a content creator who's turned skyrim into a straight building with ValePlaysGames. I love a good holiday based video! I also love how some of each cities people & quests revolve around their patron Aedra. Eg) Anvil full of cheaters thanks to the influence of Dibella. (Except for the countess, deepening the irony) Great vid
There's even more love to be found in the town of Pelagiad in morrowind. After helping the beauty and the bandit, the Nerevarine can also potentially find their true love at the very same tavern.
I wanted to mention that too! Despite the character you're talking about seems to be frivolous in terms of romantic relationships, it's so clear that the Nerevarine followed all her requests solely out of a deep sense of affection 🥺 I love this story so much

I remember when playing Elder Scrolls Online during the Ebenheart Pact storyline when you meet Walks-in-Ash and Holgunn and I always read the dialogue that they say to the player character during one or more quests I forget that they may have romantic feelings for each other. Also in Elder Scrolls Online when your in Stonefalls and you go to Hrogar’s Hold and you talk to Hrogar about how he met his wife Edwina and I find it sweet.
Hroldulf and Bjornir are a really good tragic love story in TES, piecing it together theough the notes and especially the amulet of mara was a teuly heartbreaking thing
