Hey Josh, I just got back into the interests of building houses. Do you have a video that outlines everything from start to finish. Like why you have x amount of concrete pillars/holes(?)
Hi Josh I really love your video, no mucking around just plan work and complete. Do you build in Rarotonga, we are planning on building a couple of 2brm homes on the same section. Watching your builders at work we are happy to pay for them to come with you.
They are driving piles into the bedrock, but why don't you just go ahead pier and beams raise the foundations instead load massive concrete slab? Many new buildings are on slab foundations, but even though they are cheaper to introduce, concrete foundations are vulnerable to moisture and very costly to repair in the future, so raised pier foundation is the old method and expensive choice?
What's the deal with the Styrofoam placed under the concrete???? I have built hundreds of concrete slabs for metal buildings and never once have we used this method. Would you mind explaining
Called a waffle or ribbed slab) Supposed to help at a thermal barrier, and provides formwork to create the ribs or waffle shape. It’s supposed to be lighter, stronger and stiffer than a conventional on ground concrete slab.

Right now we've got plenty to do here, but we could look at something in the future - email me :)
Is this a monolithic foundation?
Is your basecourse layer a standard thickness or is it engineer specified. Do you scrap down to clay?
just in time for apprenticeship slab writeup, timing couldn't be better.
nice :)

Slab is not massive - they put polystyrene, in general this foundation is much cheaper than other types
we do both timber and concrete foundations depending on the unique situation

Don't it rubbish just to save cost on concrete.
Insulation ??
That's a question, not a statement.
