About Archie Bunker's Place: Archie and his partner, Murray buy the neighborhood bar and rechristen it “Archie's Place.” The Bunkers adopt their niece, Stephanie, but during the show's second season, Edith dies, leaving Archie to raise Stephanie, and, soon, another niece, with the help of a black housekeeper. Most of the action is set at the restaurant, with a cast of new characters including Anne Meara as the cook and Jason Wingreen as the bartender.

Carroll O'CONNOR was a great actor we will never have television like that again.
So true.
I miss him
I agree
I so agree with you, my friend.
You got that right! All these "reality" shows are PURE PROGRAMMING GARBAGE!!!
I love how he's ready to lecture her til she starts crying. Then he's just a teddy bear
The difference between Floyd and Archie is that Archie actually loved and cared for Stephanie.
What you expect her dad is a recovering alcoholic he never been a good role model for her.
@@joshuasmith798 At best, he's struggling with recovery.
Archie has such a beautiful, pure love for Stephanie. He’s like everyone’s favorite Dad or Grandfather. The producers made a brilliant decision by adding Stephanie. We will never forget you Mr. Carroll O’Connor.
Usually a child coming in doesn’t work
That’s my stepdad Ben Slack.
Nothing like the character he played here.
Shows what a great actor he was.
Is he still with us?
@@bigbubba29 unfortunately no.
He passed away in 2004
@@Leesaharvey Sorry for your loss.
Wow 🥺 Sorry for your loss 💞
May He Rest In Peace!!!
Archie may have been gruff, but he was honest and had a heart.
It looked like it. A big transformation from the "A.I.T.F." days show.
He was highly intelligent.
A GROWN MAN.... taking money from his own daughter.... sickening.
He's no man . He's a punk
Terrible
Breaks my heart to see a child suffer. On her special day, her own father causes her pain. I see Stephanie, a lovely young lady, all dressed up for her special day, standing there with her head down, it just breaks my heart.
Archie was a good man had a heart true he talked bad about people at times but was a kind warm tender teddy bear at heart !
Archie always loved his family. Sure, he was caustic at times, but he has their backs when it counted.
Damn right he did.
What makes this scene so sad is that she finally see what everyone been trying to tell her that her dad is nothing but a deadbeat. I cried when she cried when i first saw this scene.
The show had some really great writers.
Danielle did fantastic work on this show. and that's saying a lot , look at the huge talents she worked with.
Archie and Stephanie had a strong and unique love for each other. It showed you didnt have to be blood to be family. He changed in so many ways to be a good single parent tp her and what I loved about Steffie was she was never ashamed of him. She always asked him to do the special things with her and she always showed him off and even if he really did not want to do something she asked he always gave in just to make her happy. I think he may have been closer to her than he was Gloria
Agreed
I like this show it showed Archie's independent side.
i loved ALL IN THE FAMILY & ARCHIES PLACE, both showed the reality of real life & families. NOT every thing was a happy hollywood ending
Archie was more of a father than Floyd Mills ever was to Stephanie.
true
He sure was, and Stephanie knew it.
Amen to that. He knew what a deadbeat father Floyd was since he was not there when Stephanie had her appendix removed and the blackmailing of wanting $1,000 for the Bunkers to keep Stephanie.
In a 1995 interview with Cardhouse, Danielle Brisebois mentioned this was her personal favorite episode of AITF/ Archie's Place.
2:45 they never pay you back. They always break their promises. Their words are worth less than nothing.
Indeed...
The one way to lose a friend is by loaning them money because next thing you know they take it and disappear
The Dad has no morals he should have been ashamed to take that money from her. Such a sweet girl, it’s so sad to believe that some kids really have parents like that .
He’s not fit to call himself a father or a man
He may have been her father but he wasn't her daddy
Archie’s heart ❤️ was always Carroll O’Connor
Still brings tears after all these years 😊
Archie Rocked!!!
I was in high school when this series was on. I didn't really watch it much at the time, but watched it in reruns recently and even though it's a spinoff, it was pretty good in its own right.
2:25 I was half expecting Stephanie to say "Now I've gotta turn my back on ya"
“Goodfellas”
@@PaulanthnyThen Floyd would say (off camera because you didn't hear him) "32 Hundred bucks, that's what she gave me, 32 Hundred bucks for a lifetime, wasn't even enough to pay for Edith's Coffin"
Too Soon??
Very emotional episode 😢
Yeah it made me tear up.😢
What a worm stealing from his own daughter.
From the moment Archie picked her up at the bus station way back in all in the family he loved her even willing to pay Floyd to go away
Archie Bunker gets such a bad rap. He was the glue that kept the Bunker family together. We see it time in and time out. What a show. They don’t make them like that anymore…
One thing that money was never gonna fix was her broken heart so what good would’ve been to keep it . Yes Archie wasn’t always the easiest especially in the early episodes of AITF but one thing was for sure he had a heart of gold and loved his family unconditionally.
Sad reality … life is full of promises. Broken ones too …
So sad, so disrespectful
Powerful scene and the actors did an amazing job. My personal input is that I would rather be homeless then take her money.
You are a decent person. Floyd was not.
They made a good team.
Just an amazing scene!!

I loved all your shows growing up and I'm 33
He could have kept that 2cent lie because she knew that he wasn’t going to pay her back!
This was the last of a three episode arc that marked a significant change of direction in ABP, it pretty much wrapped up the Stephanie character. Since Billie was older, they could do a broader range of stories with her. Denise Miller got a progressively larger role and lovely Stephanie's part on the show from this point was drastically reduced. They didn't know what to do with Miss Mills at the awkward age of 13 where she wasn't old enough to hang out at the bar but too old to spend a lot of time with a father type figure like Uncle Archie. They occasionally worked Danielle Brisebois into an episode just to remind viewers she was still on the show, but Stephie was no longer a significant part of the storyline.
The storyline with Billie and Gary was good. It would have been interesting to see where the Billie character went next. Unfortunately the show was cancelled. Too bad that the emergence of Denise came at the expense of Danielle.
@@davidsamuels9557 Yep, I definitely would have liked to have gotten another season to see the development of an ambitious Bille. I also would have liked to have seen the return of the beautiful, motivated, shrewd Stephanie of the first two years instead of the apathetic boy crazy teenager we got the last season and a half.
She shouldn't have given him any of that money because he was stealing from his own daughter. He wouldn't have paid her back
She knows. Her actions were a mix of sad goodbye, get out and don't come back, pity for the weak man who's her father, please love me, and test of integrity. Archie's right; she grew up a long way that day.
@@kimberlycroteau86 Exactly. It was definitely more of "Here, take the money. Just get out of my life and I never want to see you again." And like Archie said, Stephanie did grow up a long way in that moment.
I always thought he had better chemistry with Steph not gloria
Same.
They don't make shows like this no more.
Why would you do that to you child. 😢😮😢
our money was tight, we took in two Forster kids 16 and 17 year old that was aging out of the system, we did not accept one dollar for taking care of them I had to go back to work with Parkinson's to make money for food and their needs, they said that we was the first ones who ever cared about them without getting paid, 15 years later they still call us mom and dad, got 5 grand kids from them that call us grandparents, that person is one POS
My husband and I were honored to be called the grand parents of Martin. G. His mom was our first foster child. She is spreading her happiness of his Graduation to us. We must have do ne something right years ago when she was ours. Yes. We are mom and dad. Her bio parents are gone many years now.
Great scene
Remember when Mike and Gloria didn’t want Archie taking care of Joey
Doesn't even give her a hug! Takes her money and leaves! Disgusting!
The way I saw it - she paid him to finally be out of her life. She has a real father and it ain't him.
Good analysis.
Love you 💖💖💖♥️♥️♥️🎸🎸🎸
Stephanie was so beautiful
Smokin' hot back in those days!
He already had some of it in his pocket
I love All in the family it was a great show I was sad it was a great episode Stephanie did not deserve that
This is kind of an ironic episode considering a few years later Danielle Brisebois (allegedly) had all her money stolen in real life. Desperately trying to jump start a stalled career she was emancipated at 15 hoping it would increase the number of roles she would be considered for. But she was more interested in boys than balance sheets and got buried in bad business deals. By the time she turned 21 she only had $10k of her childhood fortune left.
0:39 Archie sounds like Paulie Walnuts.
God I miss the 70’s
Did you see how Floyd snatched the money out of Stephanie's hands, and didn't show any gratitude? Yes, Archie may have his faults, and he had a tendency to say something stupid, but he loved Stephanie. Floyd was nothing more than a spineless weasel.
I love Archie
Touching
This was a totally different show from AITF in its prime. Archie transformed from a loudmouthed bigot into a lovable oaf .
He was always both, but the lovable of side shined through with a younger daughter like Stephanie, whereas Gloria was all grown up.
can we get a full show?
or are you one of those people trying to make archie look bad because they dont understand he lived in the 40's
Antenna TV airs 6 days/ week. Or the complete DVD can be found at mantronixretrotv
What season and episode was this would love to watch the three parts ty
Umm, did you read the video description??
@@goforho7257 Um it doesn’t have a description
Actually if you click on more underneath the video's title you would have known the name of the episode it's season and episode number.
The goat
😥
Archie grew up knew everything, like me.
What is the most unusual bat mitzvah gift you ever received, gave or heard of?
500$ Dollars in shares to the Enron Company, Given sometime in the Spring of 1999
Floyd is the best. I loved when he was in the cheap waterfront dive. And he somehow managed to marry a Jewish woman.
❤
that was moving
😢
Why would she give him that ??
I did not watch the show much after the Stivics left and Edith died. Did Floyd ever come back in her life?
No, this would be the final appearance of Floyd Mills.
😎🗽❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️💔💔💔
😢😢😢😢
Was there a main reason Archie Felt a whole lot of extreme rage at Stephanies father just asking
He was always coming around, asking for money.
He was a dead beat dad. Didn’t take care of his kidn
I have more respect for floyd then meathead!
Danielle Brisebois was so hot!
Those stage lights can have very high temperatures on the set...
She was cute.
She was a child there!
@@su-rv2uq Mmm, I was also a 'child' when I first watched this in 1981. That's how I remember this show.
coral p concur get fun 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
ABP... paled to AITF.
They totally ruined this series, they should have ended with all in the family.
ABP was its own series.. even added new characters. Im ok with it
That girl was a terrible actress
Strange, I've tried to respond to this post but youtube has them hidden?
She was good. And her character was a really nice girl.
My goodness, this show was awful.
