Im going with deaths battle interpretation of supernova. Since ffs summons ultimate attacks are discribed as the monsters dragging the target to their dimension to attack, and the transition of supernova is similar to the summons, then is fair to assume that sephiroth is dragging the target to a point in space/time where the sun is exploding. It would be an attack closer to kaguyas dimentional hopping than tsukuyomi. Also, sephiroths magic is fueled by the planets lifestream, mako, something that is known for causing mutations and turning things into monsters. If sasuke use the preta path, is possible that he suffer of mako poisoning, just like the preta path turned into stone after draining too much sage chakra. That said, i think it could go either way

I'll have to watch some stuff on it as I've only played a little of the PS4 game. He doesn't need dissidia scaling to beat Sasuke anyway.

Seph takes speed as he scales to cloud who fights bahamut, Bahamut being 1000 times faster than light on a generous low ball. Supernova is NOT an illusion. The explosion is occuring in another dimension that he takes his opponent into. Not to mention he could effortlessly match Sasuke's feat of destroying those meteors in base so AP is obvious. He takes durability and stamina pretty easily as well considering his real body is in the life stream, which grants him access to ALL materia with unlimited MP + he's immune to all status effects. So even if we say magic=chakra, Seph would have unlimited chakra and he could use mp steal to siphon chakra from Sasuke, who has a limit to his chakra. His magic is also far more versatile compared Sasuke's ninjutsu, who only has 2 elements to work with while Seph has access to all elements as well time manipulation and many other things. Then there's various hax like headless angel, toad, sleep, or literally just death. Now you could say he wouldn't be able to use illusions on Sasuke and that seph wouldn't be able to break out of genjutsu, but that depends if you consider that a status ailment or not. Sasuke's eye might get him away from supernova (I doubt it), but there are way too many win cons for seph for it to matter. If there is no verse equalization it's still a stomp either way.

Before I've watched: 1. I would equalize the verses so that the argument of if genjutsu would even work is null. You can literally just say that it's a more interesting debate to assume it would work. 2. Try and point out how hard it is to powerscale the FF7 universe due to how many games and spin-offs have changed the scope and scale of the characters. 3. Explain FF7 summons.... Yeah. Did you forget that Sasuke destroyed half meteor with chidori without Susanno. Imagine with Susanno that was comparable to a bijuu bomb from Kurama. Sasuke's lightning sword bypassed Madara's durability and cut him in half. He has got stronger ever since as an adult. Is Seph sword has more durability than Madara who had the God tree at the time? Can Seph survive amaterasu, cause Sasuke can just cast a layer of it and teleport him in it.

Whereas Sephiroth can siphon more energy from the lifestream if he needed. Both fighters have full agency to retreat with teleportation. Sasuke has proven he can handle meteor since he destroyed many during the war, and “the last” movie, not sure if he can handle the scale of Sephiroth’s but Im in belief meteor is a mirage. This is a super tough battle.

How would sasuke put sephiroth in a genjutsu when he dosent have Chakra plus what happend to final form sephiroth?
In itachis novel, shisui explains that the mangekyonjs able to bypass that restriction by transmitting chakra into the victim through eye contact.

Characters in final fantasy can casually tank being sent to space and tanking barrages of meteors back to back. Not even their best feats.
