I've found putting those back on is easier if you take the top cover off, especially with putting back on the linkages

That lawnmower couldn't be more than a couple of years old. It's ridiculous that it would need it's carb cleaned already. At least it doesn't look too difficult to do. Thanks for the demonstration!

Some of those that I've taken apart and cleaned have had metal needle valves but the majority are plastic though.
I am working on the same mower. Briggs and Stratton messed up with these plastic carbs.
I rebuild the carb then replaced the plastic jet, new plug and oil and adjusted the auto choke lever and it still takes 4 or 5 hard pulls to get it started. I hate to order a carburetor and find that's not the issue for the customer..🤔🤔😠😠I'm stumped. 😯
Might be an air leak somewhere, or the carb is screwed up. Poor quality control is an issue with these newer briggs engines. The autochoke mechanism on the exhaust may actually be what is broken. I have seen those go bad before.
Very nice presentation, Hank. I can't bring myself to like those plastic carb OHV Briggs engines that replaced the venerable, (mostly) metal carb Quantums. But I guess Toro trusts the engines enough to stake its considerable reputation on them. Maybe the'll grow on me, but for now, I cringe a little when someone brings me one.
