    Do you see any problem charging a small battery through a 12v socket? I am wiring a console in my kayak and to access battery is time consuming. I would like to pull the console or leave it in and simply wire my charger with a male end adapter. Nice video and thanx for the info!

    • @JDSOutdoors

      It will work however I would add a charge port if your battery is tough to access. They are about $10 on Amazon

    Great build. Just curious if you have any examples of building something similar but with a deep cycle marine battery? With far more amp hours I feel you could have all kinds of options!

    You had fuses in your other power box build. You think they are important for these purposes? Just wondering what a scenario would be where a fuse would become important for these uses?

    • @JDSOutdoors
      @JDSOutdoors  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Its really personal preference weather you want individual fuses or one main fuse. I personally like the fuse block and now since this video the fuse block is an option to be added to the kit.

  • @paulsaxby7579
    @paulsaxby7579 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    @JDSOutdoors This is a great build, I really like the basis of the idea. I was wondering, I might swap out the glow cup circuit and install an inverter instead. I would probably have to add the inverter to the outside of the box, but that wouldn't be a problem. How would you advise I wire it up? Do you think it would be OK if I just effectively remove the glow cup from the circuit(leaving the switch) and wire in the inverter instead, obviously running the wire to the exterior of the box.... Hope that makes sense... Thanks in advance.

    • @JDSOutdoors
      @JDSOutdoors  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yep that is possible. Most inverters have a switch already on them so no additional switches are needed. I suggest a higher ah battery and wire the inverter directly to the battery

    Do You know what a (Catastrophe fuse) is and where you put it? Every power source should have one to prevent a catastrophic fire! (Think Short) at the power source. Breakers will work as long as it is a manual reset type. Seems like most DIYers on TH-cam ever use one.
