    Did you take the lower legs off too and see how much grease? My 170 38 is ramping up quite a lot and getting nowhere near full travel (about 70%). Also seems a bit harsh generally. I'll be looking at the spacers, but wondering if they've put too much grease on the air shaft from the factory 🤔

      @churchofdirt-mtb  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I didn't but yes the usual, shall we say liberial amount of grease could be seen from the top.
      I had a similar issue to what you are describing with a set of Marzocchi Bomber Z1's, but worse in that there was virtually no travel after a time. (Did a lower leg, air side service and grip damper fluid change, all being good since).
      I'll probably service this particular 38 over the winter period but its working well at the moment.

    After add the spacers must put the same pressure as before? Or just add the amount to have the same sag, so adding spacers to have the same sag the pressure will be lower? Thanks

      I would personally use the pressure that gets you to the sag you require. (Be mindful of balancing the positive and negative chambers).

    Fox 36 volume spacers Do fit the fox 38 seen it done and used! I've not tried it but have them and click in the yellow 38 spacers perfect there exactly the same

      Yep 36 and 38 volume spacers will click together and technically displace the same amount of volume. The dimensions are slightly different, 38 ones being a little fatter and shorter, I can foresee if a fork is fully maxed out with spacers it "may" cause issues. (Not that I've tested this, I've not personally found a need to fully max out the spacer count)

    when i release the air in my fox 30 the fork sucks itself in and is very tough to pull out? any ideas?

    • @churchofdirt-mtb
      @churchofdirt-mtb  หลายเดือนก่อน

      If you balance the positive and negative air chambers as you remove air, it wont suck down.
      Remove air 10psi at a time, pumping 5 times between each air release should do it

      @rogerfrean207 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @churchofdirt-mtb tried that and still the same, think I might have a grease blockage internally as that seems to be common

    • @churchofdirt-mtb
      @churchofdirt-mtb  หลายเดือนก่อน

      That is usually the case on 36's, 38's have a different air cylinder design which is generally better

    How many volume spacers Does a new fork comes with mounted inside?

    • @churchofdirt-mtb
      @churchofdirt-mtb  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think it may change based on travel but this is a 180mm 27.5 fork and cane with one.

      @@churchofdirt-mtb I’m willing to buy the same 180mm 29er how many I should put inside?

      Thats a wide ranging question. I'd start with the Fox recommended settings for your weight (with all gear etc) and adjust from there. If you get to a point where you either blow through travel when you have the small bump sensitivity right or not getting through all the travel but the small bump is right, then look at spacers.

      LOL, on these Saracen Ariel LTs the headsets are custom to the frame. (Largely to support the "out of the box" ability to increase and decrease reach by 5mm).

    • @churchofdirt-mtb

      Fox do not provide torque settings for the Top Cap assembly, basically you want to be tight but don't try to over tighten.

    Don't use a torque wrench to unscrew...read the manual of your tools 🙂

    • @churchofdirt-mtb
      @churchofdirt-mtb  วันที่ผ่านมา

      No torque wrench was harmed in the making of this video. (Actually the unscrewing was done with a wrench that came as part of a cheap multiset).
