Good info overall Lindsey. The various taxes is a concern, especially the yearly property tax on vehicles. That should be repealed. Tabs and registration yearly is the norm. Thanks!
Traffic and accidents are bad because of the poor signage! More than half of streets have no street signs and the signs in neighborhoods are super small. The info normally painted on roads isn’t there either!! 2) as she said multiple taxes! 3) Overpopulated for sure in North Myrtle, Myrtle down the coast No infrastructure, flooding every time it rains, not enough doctors, nurses, physical therapist, psychiatrists, oral surgeon, eye doctors, dentists and on and on. I wonder how many people die just from the wait!!
Not only in the signage poor but it is poorly maintained. Some of the interstate signage in my area has deteriorated to the point of being unreadable. Also there is a lack of lighting at many intersections; for example, none of the interstate interchanges in Spartanburg County have lighting.
Great info, we are about to start build a house in Greenwood. Moving from Arizona. I have found in my research on taxes that for the most part it all balances out no matter where you live except CA., Texas and New York.
Sadly HOAs are taking over the country so I don't even think there's places you can get away from them if you're buying newer homes newer homes which of course are built smaller if your a normal person then older homes are way too expensive for you to even move in into😢 Found that liquor rule in Texas while I was there they looked at me like I was crazy😅
My bestie moved to Greenville a few years ago and when she applied for a local corporate job, the interviewer asked her "What is your relationship with God?". 😳
Sounds like South Carolina is a terrible place to live if you like to keep the money you earn. Does not seem tax friendly at all. Too bad because we were looking to move there this summer, but going to have probably rethink this since I dont like to give my money away.
@@abbasgirl8153 Well I have no state income tax and I don't get charged taxes on my vehicles every year. I also get homestead exemption for my primary home without having to jump through hoops.
@@dawson0610 you don’t have to jump through hoops it took me two seconds to get it done. another thing is I didn’t have to show my registration to get the homestead exemption just my South Carolina drivers license and he didn’t have to wait a year to get my homestead exemption because South Carolina is a year behind so when I bought last May I won’t owe the taxes until this coming December or whenever they put them out the seller pays it all. also, if you buy some acreage like anything over six, you can get an agricultural exemption on top of it. so at the end of the day I came out with a 5200 square-foot house 57 acres for $3900 a year in property tax in the Lowcountry. I would advise shopping around for car insurance though and I’m not receiving every exemption because I’m only 56.
HOA sucks? You should never try to sell anybody on HOA. Nobody has the right to tell you what to do with something that you have already bought, that's ignorant.
If someone would move out of or not move to a state due to their liquor laws, you might have a drinking problem, lol smh.

Great info
What is the personal property tax rate on vehicles? How is it calculated?
Awesome info... My daughter is interested in moving to Aiken in 2026 and I am interested in moving to Lexington in 2027.

And that’s awesome 👏
7:53 I’m autistic. Does that count?
Love all of your videos ... very valuable information for anyone considering a move to South Carolina.
The worst thing about South Carolina are all the northeastern people moving down

No more than any other states that I have lived in. Love SC❤

@@ihave35cents95 I may go check it out then. I am going to the Sparanburg area to look around but still not sure yet. Thanks for the info though.
@@dawson0610 no problem. like I said, I really don’t know much about the area you’re going to, but I’m outside of Charleston.

Yes, people who drive slow in the passing lane should get fined!
